    Shortcuts

    Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in two cases. The first case is restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions (G6) or stale Articles for creation drafts (G13)), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. In the second use case, this page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be "userfied", i.e., restored as a draft or emailed to you; this way, the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). Be clear as to which namespace is intended, when requesting the restoration of a deleted article.

    This means that content deleted after discussion – through deletion processes – may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process but through deletion review instead. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided.

    Do not request that pages or media deleted under speedy deletion criteria F7, F9, F11, U5, A7, A9, A11, G3, G4, G10, G11 or G12 be undeleted here.

    It doesn't matter if it was an article created by a banned/blocked user. The article was sourced, well edited, and complied with all Wikipedia rules. The fact that another guy came along to spoil the party for the editor who created it is a different story. Please restore that article.     Why are we issuing any blocks at all if we are not only allowing, but actively encouraging users to circumvent them via sockpuppetry? This particular editor is a long-term abuser and shouldn't be given any leeway.
    Here's a recent example of the type of messages they leave on talk pages. There have been much worse. This sc*m Barry Wom sabotages others for personal satisfaction. It's obvious that he's a loser who doesn't have a girlfriend or friends. He might even be LGBT and HIV positive. Barry Wom (talk) 05:49, 17 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    Not to invoke WP:GODWIN, but much of the modern science of anesthesia derives from knowledge gained in horrific experiments conducted by Nazis during the Holocaust. We don't eschew the use of anesthesia on this account. Any editor has the right to revive G5-deleted content in service to the reader, on much the same reasoning. I believe there was a misunderstanding regarding the nature and purpose of the article. The organization I described in the article is already recognized in the Russian-language Wikipedia as Созмони Ҷавонони барои Эҳёи Тоҷикистон (Youth of Tajikistan for the Revival of Tajikistan). The goal of my submission was to create an English version of this article and eventually add a Tajik-language version in the Tajik Wikipedia. However, my submission was declined for the following reasons: The article was initially written in Tajik. This was unintentional, and I am willing to provide a complete English translation that meets your standards. Sources were considered insufficient or unreliable. I am ready to add more references from independent and reliable sources to ensure the article meets Wikipedia's requirements.     Can an admin take a look at the originally uploaded version of this file and restore it if it's the same as the current one. The current version of the logo seems too simple to be eligible for copyright protection under US copyright law per c:COM:TOO US; so, I've converted its licensing from {{Non-free logo}} to {{PD-logo}} and converted its description from {{Non-free use rationale 2}} to {{Information}}. I can't, however, see the originally uploaded version that was previously deleted per WP:F5, but am guessing that it's the same since it looks to have only be reduced in size by a bot. If, by chance, the deleted version isn't the same but still seems too simple, perhaps the file will need to be split; if, on the other hand, it's not the same but seems too complex to be PD, it shouldn't be restored. His Wikipedia page showed the strength in figure skating family's and generational athleticism. With the small skating community in the Czech Republic, Alexandr was a well known native. He traveled the world as a junior skater and had significant success over many championships.     The deleted content is just a redirect, so there’s little value in undeleting. As far as the deletion attribution goes, in 2017 with no sourcing it would look like poor judgment at best by whomever created it. I’m not a fan of creating articles like this about derisive nicknames for living people, still less redirects, but no prejudice against an appropriately sourced and written article. I believe it was probably part of a series of redirects comprising everything anybody had dreamed up at that point in those comparatively naive days. @ Ritchie, are you looking to just reinstate the redirect, or to make an article?     I'm not a big fan of my rationale from eight years ago either now, but I've never been very comfortable with redirects to a living person's name from a Google search of every epithet someone's been called. We see that sometimes concerning sports biographies (referees, for example, or someone who flubbed an opportunity), and I'm not convinced that they're any more appropriate or encyclopedic for politicians, especially in an environment when politicians seek to troll the opposition, or members of the press, or judges, or just private individuals who've drawn animus.     List of Governor General's Medals in Architecture

    Soft deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Governor General's Medals in Architecture. As the originating editor, I believe the list should be undeleted. This complete list does not exist in any form and I believe is a valuable source of information regarding what is generally regarded as Canada’s most prestigious architectural award. It is also a continuation of the Massey Medals for Architecture (I also created that Wikipedia article). If there is some improvement that could be suggested to the Governor General list, I would be happy to receive it but I believe deletion is unwarranted.     @Anubhav5939: on what basis are you requesting undeletion? This draft would have been speedily deleted under G12 as a copyright violation, but you edited it slightly, and then soon after blanked it so it was deleted as G7 instead. I also note the AfC reviewer's comment "Totally inappropriate tone for an encyclopaedia."     The revised content is essentially the same information as the copyvio version, paraphrased. In any case, it is laughably promotional, reads like a tourism brochure, and doesn't cite a single (extant) source. Wikipedia articles should mostly summarise what independent and reliable third parties (esp. secondary sources) have said about a subject, citing each source against the information it has provided. This draft would therefore need to be completely rewritten, hence I fail to see what purpose undeleting the draft would serve. My advice, FWIW, is to go back to the drawing board and start researching sources which you can summarise (in your own words, please), per WP:GOLDENRULE.
