Waziri Junior Shentembo known as Waziri Shentembo (born 11 August 1996) is a Tanzanian professional football player who plays as a forward for Iraq Stars League club Al-Minaa and Tanzania national team.
Career
Shentembo started playing with Toto African, and after his club was relegated in the 2017 season, he moved to Azam.[2] After one season, he moved to Biashara United Mara, and on August 1, 2018, he moved to Mbao F.C.,[3] then signed a contract with Young Africans, and on August 22, 2021, he terminated his contract with the club.[4] He then moved to Dodoma Jiji, then signed a contract with Kinondoni, and won the best player in Tanzanian Premier League for September 2023.[5] He continued with the team for an additional year, scoring both goals against Simba in May 2024.[6]
In January 2025, during the winter transfers, he moved to play in the Iraq Stars League, where he signed with Al-Minaa.[7][8]
International career
On 11 June 2024, Shentembo won his first international cap with Tanzania against Zambia in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification and scored his first goal in that match.[9]
