I noticed you created Davidson High School (Saskatchewan), which is good, but could you add a link to the school's web site (and/or other links related to the school). When I do a Google I only find the web sites of other school(s) with an identical name, but a different location. --Rob 19:16, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
Hey, as Nandesuka appears to be busy, I've taken a look at that article. Was the original taken from another website? I just need to know so that I know whether to delete the original as a copyvio and move the temp page in, or merge the histories. Please respond on my talk page. Thanks! Hermione1980 02:14, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for stepping in, Hermione -- I've been absolutely swamped. Delzen, I apologize for my unseemly delay, and I hope you'll forgive me. The stuff on the temp page looks good to me. The stuff on the main page was a copyvio from a web site (where should be in the copyvio notice). I'd suggest deleting the existing main page, and then re-creating the article with the text from the temp page. Nandesuka 02:43, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- Will do. ::phew:: At least I know how to delete and move. I'm not so sure about merging histories... Hermione1980 02:47, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- I want to thank you for being so patient and understanding about this article! If there's anything else you need help with, just let me know. Hermione1980 01:29, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

buying beers and whatnot
Hi - Re your question about thanking folks, please see Wikipedia:Kindness Campaign. There are a variety of barnstars people use, as well as the less obtrusive Image:WikiThanks.png (to see in context click on any of the user pages that refer to the image). -- Rick Block (talk) 17:12, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- I see you've created a user page for yourself - you're on your way to becoming a true Wikipedia:Wikipediholic. -- Rick Block (talk) 05:32, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the beer! I'm actually more of a Guinness man, but as long as it's not Bud Lite I'll drink it. -- Rick Block (talk) 00:48, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
Deleting articles
A good place to start is Wikipedia:Deletion policy. The short form is that there are a set of criteria for "Speedy deletion" that any admin can use to delete an article quickly (see WP:CSD), and then there is a more involved process called "articles for deletion" (WP:AFD) where people spend a few days trying to reach a consensus as to whether to keep or delete an article. My honest advice is that you stay as far away from all the deletion stuff as possible, because it will only depress you.
I deleted the article you mentioned, though, as it was clear nonsense. Want to write a useful stub in its place? :-) Nandesuka 04:10, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
You're welcome!

Wikimedia Canada
Hi there! I'd like to invite you to explore Wikimedia Canada, and create a list of people interested in forming a local chapter for our nation. A local chapter will help promote and improve the organization, within our great nation. We'd also like to encourage everyone to suggest projects for our national chapter to participate in. Hope to see you there! -- user:zanimum

If you look in "my preferneces," I think you can set your local time. Alternatively, some people choose to display and work in UTC, since editors work from many different time zones. Tom Harrison Talk 22:30, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Briarpatch Cover.jpeg

Thanks for uploading Image:Briarpatch Cover.jpeg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 16:42, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:DHSlogo.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:DHSlogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:30, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New 10,000 Challenge for Canada
Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/The 10,000 Challenge is up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Canada like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Canada but fuelled by a contest such as The North America Destubathon to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. I would like some support from Canadian wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile! Cheers. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
