I am Pete Boyd. I write Wikipedia articles about photographers and photography, and try to keep any photography-related articles in some semblance of order. I also write and work on various biographies, articles about art, music, current affairs, tech, etc. I also review draft articles that are submitted through the Articles for Creation process, perform New Page Patrol of new directly-created articles, and take part in the Articles for Deletion process assessing whether or not to delete.
My contributions, described in someone else's words: "...now the page is clearly stronger because of your encouragement/edits. I really appreciate it! It's lovely to have folks like you making so many wikipedia pages for photographers and photography-related folks" – 18 July 2018
(In the past I occasionally used the account Pete.M.Boyd, to upload photographs to Wikimedia Commons so they were attributed to a real name for establishing ownership. I will only use that account on occasion in future for the sake of security as per WP:SOCKLEGIT.)
[[WP:AFFILIATE]] – Vendor and e-commerce sources: "inline citations may be allowed to e-commerce pages such as that of a book on a bookseller's page or an album on its streaming-music page, in order to verify such things as titles and running times. Journalistic and academic sources are preferable, however, and e-commerce links should be replaced with reliable non-commercial sources if available."
[[MOS:BIRTHPLACE]] – Birth & death places can be in lead if relevant to person's notability, but should not be mentioned in opening brackets of lead sentence alongside birth & death dates.
[[MOS:CHRONOLOGICAL]] / [[MOS:BLPCHRONO]] – "In general, present a biography in chronological order, from birth to death, except where there is good reason to do otherwise. Within a single section, events should almost always be in chronological order."
See also section – [[WP:SEEALSO]] – incl. "As a general rule, the "See also" section should not repeat links that appear in the article's body or its navigation boxes."
Manual of Style/Titles / [[MOS:TITLE]] – capitalization and italics versus quotation marks
Manual of Style/Section headings / [[MOS:HEADINGS]] / [[MOS:HEADCAPS]] – sentence case (only the first word and all proper names are capitalized); "Headings should normally not contain links, especially where only part of a heading is linked."; "Citations should not be placed within, or on the same line as, section headings."; "Before changing a section heading, consider whether you might be breaking existing links to that section"
[[MOS:BOLD]] – "Avoid using boldface for emphasis in article text. Instead, use italic wikimarkup"
[[MOS:CREDITS]] – Unless relevant to the subject, do not credit the image author or copyright holder in the article. It is assumed that this is not necessary to fulfill attribution requirements ... If the artist or photographer is independently notable, though, then a wikilink to the artist's biography may be appropriate, but image credits in the infobox image are discouraged, even if the artist is notable"
Manual of Style/Music – [[MOS:POPMUSIC]] – "In popular music, album, mixtape and EP titles should be italicized and song and single titles should be in quotes"
[[WP:LINKSPAM]] – Adding external links to an article or user page for the purpose of promoting a website or a product is not allowed, and is considered to be spam.
[[WP:REFSPAM]] – Citation spamming is the illegitimate or improper use of citations, footnotes or references.
2012 – After I'd created Wonga.com, the company Wonga began toning the article down, removing some of the claims about their unfair business practices. I did not know enough about economics to refute their persistent changes, so I did nothing and intended to learn about economics. Eventually other people noticed and The Guardiantook up the story. Their revelations became big news in the media.
