Scarlet is a Swedish heavy metal duo formed in 2018. The duo, who have chosen to keep their identities a secret, consists of Scarlet Hunts and Thirsty.[1] Scarlet Hunts is characterized by her skeleton-like face painting while Thirsty is painted as a bloody vampire.

History

The band members Scarlet and Thirsty are said to have met when both of them were admitted to an institution for problematic youth. They then started writing music and lyrics together based on their dark past, combined with present-day experiences, thoughts and feelings. Their lyrical themes are straight, honest and uncensored. The two also share a 13 December birthday. In their first year as an active duo, Scarlet performed at Sweden Rock Festival,[2] Gefle Metal Festival[3] and Knotfest.[4]

In 2018, Scarlet signed a contract with the record label ART:ERY Music Group,[5] where they released their first three singles, entitled "Age Of Seduction", "Hail the Apocalypse" and "Killer Quinn". Scarlet signed a contract in 2020 with the German record label Arising Empire and in November of that year, they released their debut album "Obey the Queen", which received positive reviews throughout the metal community.[6] In 2021, the duo began a collaboration with Held MGMT.[7]

On 1 December 2023, it was announced that Scarlet would participate in Melodifestivalen 2024 with the song "Circus X".[1][8][9] Having qualified for the runoff vote of 2 March 2024, they were ultimately eliminated from the contest.[10] On 26 November 2024, it was announced that Scarlet would participate in Melodifestivalen 2025 with the song "Sweet n' Psycho".[11]
