List of storms named Durian

The name Durian has been used for two tropical cyclones in the West Pacific Ocean. Durian, which refers to the Southeast Asian fruit of the same name, was contributed to the naming lists by Thailand.

  • Tropical Storm Durian (2001) (T0103, 05W) – a severe tropical storm that made landfall in China and caused the worst flooding in northern Vietnam in four decades.
  • Typhoon Durian (2006) (T0621, 24W, Reming) – a Category 4-equivalent super typhoon that made landfalls in the Philippines, causing over 1,000 fatalities, and Vietnam.

Durian was retired following its 2006 usage, being replaced by Mangkhut for subsequent seasons.
