The 2025 Women's World Floorball Championships will be the 15th edition of this competition. It will be held from 6 to 14 December 2025 in Brno and Ostrava in the Czech Republic. It will be the second time that the Czech Republic hosts the Women's World Floorball Championships. The first time was in 2013, in the same cities.[1][2][3]
Sweden are the nine-time defending champions.
Host selection
In late 2019, the Czech Floorball Federation announced they were considering bidding for either the 2023 or 2025 edition. They ended up choosing to bid for 2025 after Singapore and Thailand stated they wanted to bid for 2023 as they wanted to give a country outside of Europe a chance to host (Singapore hosted the 2023 event).[4][5]
The Czechs were given the hosting rights unopposed on 24 May 2023.[1][6] The Moravian-Silesian Region has given its financial support to this tournament.[2]
Qualification
The final tournament will feature 16 national teams. The Czech Republic has secured its participation in advance as the host country. The remaining spots will be determined among the registered teams through regional qualifiers.
Two European qualifiers took place between January 29 and February 2, 2025, in Valmiera, Latvia, and Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy. The Latvian qualifier included ten teams divided into two groups, with the top three teams from each group advancing. In Lignano Sabbiadoro, where the qualification tournament for the 2025 Men's U19 World Championships was also held, eight teams competed, divided also into two groups. The top two teams from each group qualified, along with the winner of the playoff match between the third-placed teams. For the first time since 2015, the Netherlands qualified for the championship.[7]
The American qualifier will take place from 8 to 10 March in Austin, USA.[8]
The Asia-Oceania qualifier will be held from 18 to 23 March in Singapore. Eight national teams will compete for three spots. The top two teams will also qualify for the 2025 World Games.[8]
