Work on articles that need cleanup. Create a page for every university and college and add {{infobox University}} for it. See the missing list for those institutions still awaiting articles. Place {{WikiProject Higher education}} on every related talk page. Combat boosterism wherever it appears Ensure all articles, including Featured articles, are consistent with the article guidelines.

The outreach department of WikiProject Universities is a centralized work area for project recruitment and member interaction efforts. The new programs currently underway are a monthly project newsletter and a welcoming message for new members of the project; further ideas are always welcome, of course!

This newsletter was created in October 2007 and is based on the WikiProject Military History newsletter. Each issue will be published at the beginning of every month summarizing the happenings in the past month. For example, the September issue will be published at the beginning of October and will contain a summary of September's activity in the WikiProject. Feel free to help with the process!

Project news After years of work, there are no longer any unassessed university articles!! Try to keep it this way by always assessing an article when you add the {{WikiProject Universities}} template. New university-related WikiProjects have been created: WikiProject Brigham Young University & WikiProject University of Pittsburgh. The bot that normally updates our new cleanup lists is currently down.		Articles of note New Featured articles: None — Make an article featured! New Featured lists: Colleges of the University of Cambridge List of universities in Bangladesh New Good articles: None — Nominate an article for GA!
Current proposals and discussions A number of discussions are taking place on the project talk page. Come and participate! A growing number of students' union articles are being nominated for deletion and the discussions are being listed on our deletion page. A new discussion on the notability of separate articles for faculties/academic colleges.
Awards and honors Wrad was awarded the University Barnstar for creating WikiProject BYU. Keep up the great work! Mlaffs was awarded the University Barnstar for being the first person in almost two years to completely update the Missing Colleges and Universities encyclopedia list. Thank you, thank you! ElKevbo was awarded the University Barnstar for significantly improving several university-related articles. Thanks!
