This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Islam. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion

Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:

and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Islam|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.

Removing a closed AfD discussion

Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.

Other types of discussions

You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Islam. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.

This one? "Our project is a multi-volume work which consists of more than 10 thousand annotations and footnotes. We are pleased to announce that, God-willing, this monumental work is scheduled to be published in 2025." This isn't an independent source, it is a press release from the publishers / translators. Which book? The unpublished book that the article at hand is pushing and telling us is coming out real soon now and is the first English translation, underneath a lengthy duplicate discussion of the Nahj al-balagha (which already has a translations section)? Or the published in 2024 English translation LCCN 2023-54675 by Tahera Qutbuddin? ☺
The "prominent news website" turns out to be press releases from the organization founded by the (first) book's author, talking (10 days ago) in the future tense of "forthcoming publications" that have not happened yet, and that the world at large thus cannot possibly have independently documented outwith these autobiographical press releases.
The Sayyid Amjad H. Shah Naqavi biography of a living person is cited almost entirely to autobiographical press releases, too.

Stubify and rename. The nomination is bad and hardly explains the reasons this article is bad, but it is bad. Outside the first few sentences of lead, which have academic refs and establish WP:GNG (the topic is obviously notable, incidentally, I just wrote yesterday an article about a book whose introduction is another relevant source if someone wants to work on this) the article is a mess that IMHO fails WP:IPC/WP:TRIVIA/WP:NOTTVTROPES (i.e. the usual random list of works featuring devil), and at the end has a bizarre 'legal' section discussing some mentions of devil and stanism in court. My recommendation is to gut it down to a stub and rename by removing the pointless "the arts" (the arts are part of popculture anway). - This did catch my eye when it was listed. Alas, I currently have almost all of the counties in Indiana open in browser tabs; and am in the middle of several sources dealing with Chilton County, Alabama. I tried to escape the never ending geography a while back, but that soon led to Kierkegaard, which can drain anyone's religious subjects fuel reserves for quite a while. ☺ Uncle G (talk) 11:24, 23 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
