Here are some tasks awaiting attention: Article requests : Update Hertfordshire and History of Hertfordshire pages and bring them up to GA and eventually FA. Create primary school pages for the remaining districts (Broxbourne, East Herts, North Herts, St Albans, Stevenage, Welwyn Hatfield) along the lines of Primary schools in Watford. Add coordinates to Herts articles listed at Category:Hertfordshire articles missing geocoordinate data. Add infoboxes to Herts articles listed at Category:Hertfordshire articles needing infoboxes. Add maps to Herts articles listed at Category:Hertfordshire articles needing maps. Add references to Herts articles listed at Category:Unreferenced Hertfordshire articles. Assess unassessed articles Expand : this project. to this to-do list Stubs : Hertfordshire's highest profile stubs (based on the number of page views) can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Hertfordshire/Popular pages Other : Place {{WikiProject Hertfordshire|class= |importance= }} banners on all related Herts pages including schools pages from Template:Schools in Hertfordshire and stations from Category:Railway stations in Hertfordshire. Walkern name origin is wrong There is no evidence of fulling at the time of the foundation of the village. Historically the name was believed to have been a reference to "wal-cera" a strangers(welsh) dwelling possibly a celtic hermit monk? . It might also be named from

"well-crowen" Well of crows as this is where the River

It references The Lecture :

" Place Names in Hertfordshire , Read Before THE St Albans Architectural and Archaeological Society in 1858 by Rev. H Hall. MA.

Reference :

"There is not much water to seen till WALKERN is reached which is said to mean

"the servants lonely dwelling "

There owing to the water it receives from springs the Beane becomes a much larger stream"

The etymology For Walkern proposed " Well of Crows " is based on local wildlife habitat, topology, adjacent place names and local folklore (which should not be dismissed)
