Fails WP:NFILMMAKER; none of his works are notable. Plus, the sole surviving article about a film he directed is currently nominated for deletion as well. The Film Creator (talk) 21:33, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- Note: This discussion has been included in the deletion sorting lists for the following topics: Actors and filmmakers and United Kingdom. Shellwood (talk) 21:39, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- Comment: I added a couple of book references: the Roberts one is a basic encyclopaedia listing; the Monaco one is a bit more, summarising the subject's life and work. AllyD (talk) 10:02, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
- Keep Seems notable to me: Guardian obituary: Maurice hatton: A tough-minded view of utopia (via ProQuest); New York Times: MAURICE HATTAN'S BRITISH COMEDY LONG SHOT, another film review, American Roulette directed by Maurice Hatton, Charity, Tom. Sight and Sound; London Vol. 1, Iss. 5, (Sep 1991): 56. Piecesofuk (talk) 13:20, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
- Keep The subject is notable as explained by "Piecesofuk" Mbilalwiki (talk) 19:33, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
- Keep. We have always considered on obit in a major newspaper sufficient for notability. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:19, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- Keep: Aside from the two book references on which I commented above, there is also a brief biography by Sandra Brennan on Allmovie, and Michael Wood's obituary in The Guardian. Also acknowledging the various reviews and mentions of his films from the late 60s onward (e.g. by Philip French in The Observer) adds to an overall view that there is sufficient to meet the WP:FILMMAKER criteria. AllyD (talk) 19:03, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- I withdraw this nomination per consensus. The Film Creator (talk) 00:31, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
