Regarding User:Woadlined's block, he only created the first instance of the article. The subsequent versions were by others, and he's lodged an unblock request? Am I missing something or are the other creations by socks? --Steve (Stephen) talk 13:18, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
I lifted the block. One week is way too harsh for a first offence, especially when the user wasn't warned & didn't recreate the content as far as I can see (do you know better). The reason for blocking - creating nonsense articles isn't in the blocking policy. I can see how it can be disruptive but there hasn't been anywhere near enough rope to justify a seven day block. SpartazHumbug!13:35, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Clearly it is down to you, and I would not interfere; this user, blocked by you, was given a second chance after his six-month block in December 2006. He has been invited by User:Yamla, an admin of vast experience, to repost his unblock request. Would you care to review the page? --Anthony.bradbury"talk"22:38, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the heads up, but I am pretty sure I just reviewed the block, but was not the actual blocker. Jmlk1723:47, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
I've changed Xanther's block from 120 hours to 48 hours. I agree that his persistent edit warring is not appropriate, but a jump from 24 hours to 120 doesn't seem warranted. However, I have warned him via email that the next time that he starts edit warring again, he will be blocked indefinitely. Feel free to contact me with any concerns. Shadow1(talk)00:05, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
Not a problem, thanks for the heads up about the change. I also appreciate the email you sent them :). Jmlk1701:45, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your comments in my recent RfA. However, it was unsuccessful. I am in no way disheartened, and I am working on all the constructive critisism I have received. If you have any further suggestions or comments, feel free to drop me a line on my talk page, and I will be happy to respond. Matt/TheFearow(Talk) (Contribs) (Bot)04:40, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

The June 2007 issue of the Military history WikiProject newsletter has been published. You may read the newsletter, change the format in which future issues will be delivered to you, or unsubscribe from this notification by following the link. Thank you.
Thank you for your input at my recent RfA. It unfortunately did not succeed, but I'll try to make improvements on the concerns your brought up. Hope to see you around. Kwsn(Ni!)15:39, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
Hi, this mediation has rather gone quiet lately - largely my fault as I was busy elsewhere. I would be keen to progress the discussion though, if you have a minute to swing by and comment that would be helpful .WjBscribe01:27, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Um, excuse me, did I trash talk or demean other people? As a professional staff of Pike, DonaldPHater needs to watch what he says since he represents us. 71.106.156.4521:00, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
No dude, that's not the issue of who he is. I'm saying you're helping to contribute to the fire, fanning flames and the like. The page is for talking about the topic, and the section about Jon Stewart. Jmlk1721:04, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Compton G playa
This was a user I blocked, and you declined their unblock. I thought you may want to know that they requested unblocking again, and I unblocked them on the condition that they don't vandalize again, otherwise they'll be reblocked. I thought you may want to know. Acalamari21:34, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
You're welcome; from the recent discussion on their talk page, it seems the user does want to contribute. I'll just see what happens. Acalamari22:23, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
I found it via the Recent Changes page. I figured it would be dealt with quickly (since I would think the IP would try and do further trolling or whatnot), but I kept a tab open to it just to be sure. When nothing happened for about 20 minutes I decided to get someone's attention about it. Should the attack somehow be deleted, it being a malicious attack towards another user? -WarthogDemon04:00, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Eh, I removed the comments and declined it, then blocked the user as they were never actually blocked beforehand. Thanks for the heads up though! Also, if you don't already know, reporting things like that at AIV can help, as numerous different admins look there as well! But thanks again! Jmlk1704:03, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
I usually do report to AIV, though I was thinking that sort of thing may have needed immediate attention. (I found you by going to the Block Log to talk to whomever last blocked someone.) If things are okay though, then that's good to hear. :) Thanks! -WarthogDemon04:06, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Pretty well. Daniel seems to be on wikibreak. I'm not considering adminship anytime soon though; I want to get through college first. I'd say more, but then you'd probably have to place a {{subst:Uw-chat1}} on my page. ;) -WarthogDemon04:21, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Hey Jmlk! Um, I'm not very tech-y, but there are some links here that might help you understand the situation better? Let me know if you need more info. Cheers, ~ Riana ⁂05:55, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Back Again With A Question
We've come across each other 3 times tonight. :) Anyways, I was curious about why you blocked User:Nomadkorea for apparently making a vandalism page. I checked the foreign title at dictionary.com. The article was "Asia Film Academy." -WarthogDemon06:09, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Admin Coaching
I was wondering if you would like to coach me to become an admin. I have applied once for adminship before and you opposed me, therefore I think that you would be a great person to learn from as you know what I need - and how I dod not fit the criteria before. Thanks, JhfireboyTalk11:20, 10 July 2007 (UTC).
You are the admin, so you are the boss. I would prefer a fast paced coaching, if possible, and I would like to get to know some of the more internal workings of Wikipedia, since I think I have a good idea of what being an exopedianist is. If you dsagree, then I'll do what you think. JhfireboyTalk20:45, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
It' actually pretty easy... all you have to do is make a "wikitable". Take a look at my userpage, which has a very easy-to-copy table at the very top, where I have boxes saying I adopted you and a fellow Wikipedian. I'd recommend just a simple copy-paste of mine into yours, and just enter in your own userboxes. Or, if you'd prefer, I could do it for ya, and you could compare the two versions in the history, and see the coding for it. Just let me know! Jmlk1718:21, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Please stop re-deleting the Joseph Costello article deleted out of process. This person is a famous pioneer of the EDA industry and was tagged by deletion by an ignoramus who probably didn't know a single wikilinked word in the article. `'Miikka15:54, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice and support, all constructive advice (even criticism) is accepted. I will work on that. For less heated matters, I find that building consensus on talk pages tends to be a quicker route to resolution, particularly where more than 2 editors are involved, but alas it doesn't always work. But I will work on your suggestion. Thanks again, :-) Carlossuarez4619:54, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
How does it assert notability? An online group of anti-vandalism editors is not exactly notable. I mean, I belong to VandalProof editors, and making a group out of us would not be notable whatsoever. Jmlk1720:32, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
I understand that there is a VP page; it's for the program, a manual for its use, a place for advice, etc. The Grue Army, according the the last version before I deleted it, is simply a group of editors who revert vandalism, report it, etc. I fail to see the notability. Jmlk1720:42, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

I am new to the editing/submitting of articles on Wikipedia. I was attempted to create an article for the band All About Chad and it was deleted. What do I have to do to it/add to it to get it to be undeleted or not deleted in the future?
Okay, per your suggestion. I have read all of the admin articles at the virtual classroom today. (well... all but one. I read until I couldn't focus on the monitor anymore.) I'm also starting to get involved in Rfa's (as you've probably seen.) Have you seen any issues that could create potential roadblocks? I mean, I don't think I have ever made any edits that would raise flags (besides getting mildly heated in AfD's from time to time). Trusilver02:18, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Sorry it took this long to get back, but I've been working doubles a lot lately. Anyway, great job on the reading, glad you got that out of the way. As for any potential roadblocks, I honestly don't see any issues. The only one I do currently see is the issue of experience, and that will solve itself out after time has passed. You have one solid month of good editing already, and are well on your way towards your second. I think will a couple more added on, you can easily enter into a good Rfa, one that has quite a good amount of positive attributes to back it up with. All you need to do is keep up the amazing amount of work you have done, and by the end of the summer, we will be able to put together a nice looking Rfa :). Jmlk1705:28, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Thank you!
Thanks in part to your support, I am Wikipedia's newest bureaucrat. I will do my best to live up to your confidence and kind words. Andre (talk) 09:30, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
How is it appropriate to promote murderers like OJ Simpson and Chris Benoit, drug suppliers, and pornographic actresses.....yet, I am not allowed to post an article on a musician who also happens to be a positive role model in his community as well as fellow musicians for his lyrical content?
That's a lot of work that went into something, just to have someone randomly delete it.
I'd like to hear more of your justification and what i can do to maintain the page, jmlk.
Thanks for the offer Jmlk17. However, Husond voluntered awhile back and I took him up on it. Any advice, suggestions, comments, concerns, etc., nonetheless would be welcome. Once again sorry. I don't know if Husond believes in dual coaching, but if you wanted you could ask him about it. Happy Editting! --Tλε Rαnδom Eδιτor (ταlκ)22:33, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Oh no problem buddy :). I'm very glad you have found a great coach, and I am looking forward to your next Rfa! Jmlk1705:29, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
He's back again with his personal attacks and aggressive attitude and he just vandalized the John Calhoun article *again*. I think he needs an infinite block this time. Hope something can be done. — Wackymacs07:31, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Dammit...I was hoping this guy would cool off after two blocks...I've indef banned him. Thanks for the heads up! Jmlk1707:34, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for solving this, Jmlk17! However, he'll probably be back...he's had about 5 different accounts in the past! Please see here (a message from another user on this "case" with me). Thanks again. — Wackymacs15:05, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Well, I was looking for a prettier way to do this, but I'm not very artistic, so I'll just say thank you for your support in my RfA, which was closed as successful. I look forward to serving the community in a new way. Take care! --But|seriously|folks 08:25, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
The article was initially deleted before I could add a "hang on". Since it was a short stub, I recreated it and placed additional references to establish notability. The article was deleted again without warning and protected. Am I doing something specifically wrong? If so, can the article be restored so I can fix it? BTW, I read WP:NOTABILITY before initially creating the article. Just64helpin10:48, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Please restore the Ron May page. It went through an "Articles for Deletion" debate and it was decided that it should be kept. The debate can be seen here: deletion debateTsaylor15:02, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
No need to thank me :). I just personally don't understand why people create accounts just for the sole purpose of vandalizing and harassing. But hey, oh well! No problem, and happy editing! Jmlk1717:55, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
I think after their IP address was blocked and they got the idea for creating an account from the first warning they recieved becuase of their edits. But that's my theory. Angel Of SadnessT/C18:02, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
No problem and thank you for telling me about my signature. A more experienced editor made it for me and they probably forgot that there's not spaces in the name. I was wondering why my user page wasn't getting much vandalism lately. :D Thanks again AngelOfSadnessT/C18:10, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Lol man! You have some people gunning for you today :). Once again, you're very welcome :). Jmlk1718:34, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Thank you so much for the barnstar with the smiley face. :D And in return I give you these cookies.Cookies!. It would be a barnstar only I haven't learned how to make them yet. But as soon as I learn, you will be the first to be awarded a barnstar. Angel Of SadnessT/C18:54, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Can you explain why you have deleted this page again? Your original complaint was that it didn't "assert significance." So I added some reviews that demonstrate that this band are reasonably well-known (in the UK), get decent reviews in the national music press and have been awarded single of the week by a national newspaper. It was not simply "recreation of deleted material" as you, rather contemptuously, put it. Famousdog13:11, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
There are a TON of bands that are reviewed and such by national press. This alone doesn't exactly assert notability whatsoever. If I restored the page, how exactly would you make a regionally known band's article pass notability? Jmlk1721:48, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Bhlimn
I see that you blocked Bhlimn as a vandalism only account. I am having trouble with another disruptive user who has a possibly similar editing style. Do you know who the underlying user is? I have reported Ghetsmith and Jbntj to Checkuser, they appear to be the same user. 199.125.109.10520:34, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Uh Jbntj took a perfectly stable template that has been essentially unmodified for months and tried to push a POV by replacing the image with one that is offensive to some on 12 July 2007. Jbntj appears to be a newly created username, perhaps because another was blocked. Jbntj has failed to respond to any requests for discussion. The images were deleted because they took a nice looking template and turned it into a piece of garbage. 199.125.109.12701:58, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Uhm, my talk page isn't exactly the best place for this kind of thing. If you guys have a dispute, I can give you a few places to check out. Jmlk1704:01, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
The dispute has been added to Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Maths, science, and technology, is this one of those places you had in mind? 199.125.109.12704:44, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
By the way I often get asked why I don't get a user name, but the bulk of contributions to Wikipedia come from unregistered users, and I still do not have much stock in Wikipedia, but I do try to fix things that are horribly wrong when I see them. 199.125.109.3717:36, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Maybe I hit a nerve. Otherwise why would Jnbtj take the step of lodging a complaint here about someone who had just placed a simple request about your action regarding Bhlimn. I don't see you listed as the "admin of the day to lodge complaints with". 199.125.109.3720:41, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
It all good buddy. People get worked up all the time around here. Frankly, I'm glad there is no listing for "admin of the day to lodge complaints with", otherwise, I'd be completely inundated here. I's suggest you talk with Jnbtj, and see if you two can't come to an agreement, or at least an amiable conclusion. Jmlk1720:46, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Hi. I saw that the article on Christopher Hohn was deleted by you. I think it is a petty. He manages on of the biggest charities. There was an article on him in the Economist, [1]
(premium). I wanted t find out more on him only to find that the article was deleted. Thanks. --BBird21:44, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Hello my American amigo. The vandal-fighting efforts are going well. Seems like the vandals are on holidays or something(blocked :D) because there doesn't seem to be as much vandalism as last week. There seems to be less page blanking and more small edits within the articles. But since I started suspecting every IP address was vandalising I decided to take a break from the vandal fighting. So instead I started making my own userboxes and I made three before going back to the vandal fighting. So that's how the last two days or so have been. Happy editing to you to. :D Angel Of SadnessT/C15:35, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Mr. johnathan
I suppose I want a little bit of a peer edit review concerning him . . . did I do everything well including my messages on his talk page? -WarthogDemon20:50, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
I would say it all looks just fine. If anything, you were overly-polite lol. But seriously, you are continuing to do a great job, including with Mr. johnathan. Jmlk1720:55, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Sahaj Marg pages and SRCM pages
Dear Jmlk17,
I was surprised to hear that Shashwat Pandey nominated me for vandalism. He is doing this purely as a personal attack. Please check with administrators IPSOS and Jossi. I have been working hard to get the Sahaj Marg and Shri Ram Chandra Mission pages into a neutral format, following their suggestions to a t for getting it to a stub (so there's no room for edit warring) and for disambiguating pages (again, to prevent edit warring). Please examine Shashwat Pandey's history of extremely disruptive editing (including his reverts of administrators changes today.
If he is not permanently banned, there is no hope for these pages as his history shows he has only one goal in mind, please see his former user page, [2].
If there's a way to file for protection against a personal attack from Mr. Pandey, I would appreciate it.
Thanks, I did as you suggested and filed for protection, but in the meantime IPSOS took charge and kept reverting Shashwat Pandey's reversions (please see the history page of the Sahaj Marg Wiki article).
Now, Mr. Pandey is making personal attacks on both my user page and on the Sahaj Marg talk page. I am really at a loss as to what to do here? I've tried to follow Wiki dispute resolution process faithfully with him (i.e., try to engage discussion, warn him personally, ask admins for help, and then file for AIV and page protection). Please read the Sahaj Marg talk page -- you'll see other editors' responses today, as well as a response I posted to his personal attack of me. I'm trying to go through the Wiki channels and don't know what else to do?
Thank you very much for your participation in my recent unsuccessful RfA. I am very grateful for all of the advice, and hope that it will help me grow as an editor. Happy editing! Sincerely, NeraneiT/C11:48, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Hi, I'm interested in recreating this article or merging its content with Anberlin. Could you please userfy me a copy of the deleted article? Thanks Chubbles16:06, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Your Block
I take no issue with being blocked. My actions in deleting “talk” on my page were due to my unfamiliarity with Wikipedia’s policies. That said, I would suggest not referring to new posts on user’s talk pages as “messages” since they are apparently not to be deleted.
However, I would like to voice issues with the Pi Kappa Alpha “discussion” page and those type of pages in general.
1. How long should a post remain until it is considered “dated” and may be deleted. The Pi Kappa Alpha page has posts on it that are several years old while others seem to clean them up somehow. 2. User: StrandedKSig’s comments:
I don't see any kind of notation on the article that Stewart's standing with the fraternity has been called into question or that his disappointment in the fraternity has been cited. You said that would stay, but all the article shows is that Jon Stewart continues to be a brother in good standing. Screw it, Pika's a waste of time - always has been, always will be. StrandedKSig 15:17, 11 June 2007 (UTC) Why would anyone waste time wanting to be a Pike? I was simply pointing out the legacy of Pika - lying and then trying to cover it up. Pathetic...StrandedKSig 19:18, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Appear to be within the definition of vandalism and are at least considered inflammatory, intentionally derogatory, and unproductive. My intention in deleting them was to prevent further altercations. However, it appears that numerous administrators find value added in the content. I would like to beg the question as to why they continue to remain on the discussion page.
Thank you for your support in my successful RfA. I appreciate the trust you and the WP community have in me. Thanks for your perspective about my rocky newbie days, many of us had them. Carlossuarez4621:53, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Or do we see each other's usernames more often outside of WP:HOCKEY than we do inside it? lol. Maybe you haven't noticed, but it seems that way to me. BsroiaadnTalk22:47, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Haha, I guess so. I just want the new season to start already, it seems like it takes longer and longer every year, though I know it doesn't. lol. And also, let's go Devils! :-P Haha. BsroiaadnTalk23:04, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
It should be a good season, but I don't like the Devils moves. Haha. Losing Brian Rafalski, Scott Clemmensen, and Scott Gomez (though Gomez was grossly overpaid by the Rangers), and gaining Dainius Zubrus (whom I've heard isn't bad but isn't great), Kevin Weekes (whom doesn't look too good, stat-wise), Karel Rachunek, and Vitaly Vishnevski. It doesn't seem we've upgraded much during this off-season, thus far. Though we do have some promising young athletes such as Zach Parise, so this could be a very good season. The Devils have lost a lot of talent before and still played well, this season probably won't be any different. BsroiaadnTalk23:19, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
It's just a lot of players moving around right now. And it's not really seemingly for much of a purpose in some cases (in my opinion). For instance, I don't get why Bertuzzi signed with Anaheim (I think the Wings still have a better chance than Anaheim...those bastards). lol. Jmlk1704:58, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
