Current requests for reduction in protection level
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

Kendricks personal life tab was recently edited. The last person to edit was Saloni Jain22 as of now (5 hours ago). The incorrect information is under his personal life tab. "In an October 2012 interview, he stated that he once tried marijuana, but the blunt was laced with PCP". The drug last started is incorrect and should be replaced with "angel dust" or more commonly known as, cocaine. The link that is attached is a YouTube video with kendrick literally stating verbatim. he has also referenced this is two songs on his GOOD Kid MAAD city album. Once at the end of "Peer Pressure" and again in m.a.a.d city he refers to it making him "foam at the mouth". You're welcome 2601:98D:C182:7000:6040:86B0:1916:8063 (talk) 22:04, 25 February 2025 (UTC)

- Hi @Schwede66, I hope you enjoyed your vacation. I have sourced the DOB in the early life section as per WP:INFOBOXREF. I followed the editing style of Geniac, the way he improved Sheezan Khan and tried adapting the same. Thanks C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 08:48, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, I had a fab wee holiday. I don't understand your answer. I see that there is one ref in the infobox, and that reference does confirm the date of birth, but it is attached to the spouse only. Could you please explain what you mean, and how the referencing confirms the date of birth, C1K98V? Schwede66 08:59, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- Schwede66 In the above mentioned article I have sourced the date of birth in the Early life section, see here. And the spouse's source is just about their marriage. I'm following the editing style of Geniac, the improvement he did in one of my previously created article see here. Thanks C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 09:38, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry, which reference states the date of Vig's date of birth? I cannot see it. Schwede66 18:29, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- Schwede66, I have used two sources for DOB, Colors TV and India Today. You can find both the sources in the Early life section. Hope it helps, if you still can't verify the birth date, you're most welcome to remove it. Thanks C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 18:50, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- @C1K98V Is it just me or the webpage you're linking to from colorstv.com is redirecting to a /mena/ directory making it impossible to see what you're talking about or citing. As for the indiatoday.in, you did not initially position the citation as of when Schwede66 started reviewing your request, you only repositioned the citation today. - Hi Vanderwaalforces, I'm not sure if the Colorstv website works outside of India. Let's wait for Schwede66 to confirm if they're able to verify it. I'm sharing a screenshot of the website for reference [1]. While searching for sources related to their academics, I found IndiaToday and added it later in the Early life section. I repositioned the named citation as I wanted to highlight it for Schwede66, so I left an edit summary too. Thanks for your consideration. C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 03:43, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- (Non-administrator comment) I can access the colorstv source and confirm that it mentions Gautam Vig's date of birth. – DreamRimmer (talk) 12:18, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
Vanderwaalforces (talk) 19:07, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry, which reference states the date of Vig's date of birth? I cannot see it. Schwede66 18:29, 19 January 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I would like to request AutoPatrolled rights. I have been actively contributing to Wikipedia since December 2020, with over 1,090 total edits (945 live edits) and 154 articles created (121 currently live).
Reasons for requesting AutoPatrolled rights:
- Experience in article creation: I have created numerous articles that meet Wikipedia’s notability, verifiability, and neutrality guidelines.
- Understanding of Wikipedia policies: As an Extended Confirmed User, I follow Wikipedia’s Manual of Style, Cite Sources, and Notability Guidelines.
- Reducing admin workload: Granting AutoPatrolled rights would help reduce the backlog for New Page Patrollers, as my articles generally do not require manual review.
- Clean track record: I have never been blocked and maintain a history of constructive contributions.
I appreciate your time and consideration. Thank you! bɑʁɑqoxodaraP (talk) 10:36, 27 February 2025 (UTC)

*Request for Auto-Patrolled Rights*
Dear Wikipedia Administrators,
I am requesting *auto-patrolled rights* to streamline my contributions. Over the past month, I have actively edited Wikipedia, focusing on *Politics, Infrastructure, and Technology in India*.
With 100+ constructive edits, I have developed a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s policies and formatting. Granting me *autopatrolled status* will help improve efficiency by reducing manual reviews. As there are not any specific requirements for autopatrolled right, I think I am suitable for this right.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best regards, VortexPhantom (talk) 11:17, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
Not done. User:VortexPhantom The expectation is to have created 25 articles without any significant problems for autopatrolled, which you are quite far from at the moment. Please ensure you read the requirements before requesting permissions. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 11:39, 27 February 2025 (UTC)

Reason for requesting confirmed rights: I will need the rights so I can attempt to make changes in semi-protected articles and I think my situation is a little different. After many years of use without contribution I've decided to contribute and take care of some outdated images and animations (I'm a 2D/3D Generalist). I do not plan to edit any other content, including text - unless it's necessary for some reason, like a description that has to be updated. I plan to start with English articles first, even though it's not my native language. I will just take care of the pictures, but I would have to make 10 of them, according to the rules I've read, and if the YouTube video I watched on the subject is right, I would have to do it in a quick succession (7 days according to "Wikipedia Basics" - "The Boring Voice" channel). It's not possible for me, I'm sorry. The plan is to take care of the most popular articles, but with very outdated images. They are stuck there because there are no free-to-use alternatives or nobody cares enough to update them. I would like to replace them with custom made images released for free for everyone via Wikimedia. I'm somewhat familiar with copyright laws and I understand some of the updates might not be welcome or rejected and that's okay. Images will still be available on Wikimedia in multiple sizes, formats and versions - depending on what is being done. Then I can try updating something else, but I need to be sure I'm somewhat ready to start and have a green light. I don't want to worry if what I'm working on is going to be rejected by an automated message. I also don't want to feel like I cheat and force myself to make 10 careless updates. I will get burnt out. I understand it's also a learning process and proof that someone understands the basics of coding, formatting and is not malicious (at least not yet), but I will do my best to research and test things before making any changes. Creating 3D renders takes time and I will also be limited by my tools and the resources I purchased, all with different licenses. I still have a lot to read and get familiar with, but it's okay. There is time. And I know this account looks fishy and I haven't logged in for 16 years, but the name change ticket went surprisingly well, even though I probably missed a few checkmarks. If for whatever reason this request has to be denied (and I know "the vast majority of requests here are denied" and I know about "WP:FFU"), then it's okay and I will do the next suggested thing ("Template:Edit semi-protected"). I'm happy the wall exists, but unhappy it has to. Thank you for your time. Czerniawskimc (talk) 21:28, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- I think I made a mistake and I was looking at those 10 changes the wrong way. They don't have to be big changes. I think I might have some expertise in certain subjects and I can contribute a little here and there, in unpopular but still outdated articles that don't require any special permissions to edit. Just look at the "3D_rendering" page, it's filled with pictures from 2005 and a lot of information is missing. I will try to contribute something there. I don't know if I can close this ticket, and I'm generally still open to getting "confirmed", but like I mentioned in my previous post - I know I have other solutions and I just realized I can just deal with it and simply follow the rules. I used the word "force" before, but nothing is forced here, nobody is forcing me to do anything and those changes don't have to be "careless", which is another stupid thing I said. Czerniawskimc (talk) 03:34, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- Comment - @Czerniawskimc According to WP:AUTOCONFIRM, it doesn't say anything about the fact that you have to make the edits in "quick succession". Can you link that YouTube video that you talked about? Like you said, this probably will get declined. Justjourney (talk) 01:41, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry for the confusion. It's a wall of text, and I replied to myself before anyone else could.
- It all comes down to what I wrote in my first message: "I will just take care of the pictures, but I would have to make 10 of them, according to the rules I've read, and if the YouTube video I watched on the subject is right, I would have to do it in a quick succession (7 days according to "Wikipedia Basics" - "The Boring Voice" channel)."
- After getting familiar with the rules, I knew I had to make 10 edits, and I would have to replace 10 images (based on my previous "image-related contribution scenario"). I also knew there was a possibility that this 7-day time limit exists if the video I mentioned is correct. Just like you, I didn’t notice it mentioned on WP:AUTOCONFIRM, so I was skeptical. Since you asked for the link, I will go ahead and assume it's okay to post it. And I just noticed I can't post a timestamped link, so I suggest skipping to 0min25sec and here is the URL: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfR9gAMZzzM).
- If this gets declined, it's alright. I just made my first edit ever a few minutes ago, in text, and it was rather bold. Whole new lead section on path tracing with respect to some of the previous content. But the images are on the way - I even got one of the top CGI artists in the world involved and he agreed to release a shaderball model for me (us) via Wikimedia Commons so I can alter it, share it and use in many images I plan to create. We were taking care of the consent declaration today. To sum it up, I will probably end up in autoconfirmed group eventually and it's not an obstacle at the moment. It's almost 7am and bright outside, so it's time to go to sleep. Thank you for your time and good night. Czerniawskimc (talk) 06:00, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Czerniawskimc: that video appears to be quite wrong. There are two requirements for autoconfirmed:
- Your account must be at least four days old (you meet this already as your account is years old)
- You must make a total of 10 edits (you're currently on 7 edits)
- These two conditions are independent from each other, so you just need to hit them both. You're nearly there already. On the assumption you reply to this post again and make two {{edit semi-protected}} requests, you'll be there. It's far less onerous than you seem to think. You also mentioned WP:FFU - this is an option for you at the moment without autoconfirmed status, but that should only be used for irreplaceable non-free files. It sounds like you'll be making freely licenced files that you can upload to Wikimedia Commons without autoconfirmed status.
- I'll mark this as
Not done for now as you'll likely hit autoconfirmed sooner than you think. stwalkerster (talk) 12:36, 28 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi, I requested for this right a few weeks ago, which MusikBot will flag up. The reason I was declined was mainly because I had not met the 200 mainspace edit threshold needed for my application to go through. A concern was also raised about one of my edits, saying that I had jumped to conclusions about an editor a bit quickly and had gone too fast with the warnings. I am now trying to be better at using the warning system more fairly and helpfully and I hope that I have addressed this concern. Most of my edits on Wikipedia have been fighting against vandalism and with this tool, I will be able to fight it more efficiently. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 15:27, 24 February 2025 (UTC)

I hope that I would receive the rights (permenant or for a probation period).— Cactus🌵 spiky ouch 09:45, 28 February 2025 (UTC)

Reason for requesting rollback rights: I spend a good deal of time on RecentChanges, and edit on PC as well as mobile (mostly mobile). RedWarn does not work on mobile, and Twinkle can give me trouble sometimes. As such, I'm requesting rights so that mobile editing is a little easier for me. Thank you! 🙂 (NOTE: Forgot to add that rollback seems to be faster than Twinkle. That would be useful.) (Acer's userpage |what did I do now) 20:23, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
