Maksym Vadymovych Talovierov (Ukrainian: Максим Вадимович Таловєров; born 28 June 2000), also known as Maxi, is a Ukrainian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for EFL Championship club Plymouth Argyle and the Ukraine national team.
Career
Born in Nalchik, Russia when his father was playing for Spartak Nalchik,[1] but grew up in Velyka Novosilka, Donetsk Oblast, Talovierov is a product of the Shakhtar Donetsk and Arsenal Kyiv youth academies. His first trainer in Shakhtar Donetsk was Vyacheslav Kozlov.[2]
He played for Olimpik Donetsk in the Ukrainian Premier League Reserves and was never promoted to the senior squad team, and in February 2019 he was signed by the Czech Republic side Dynamo České Budějovice.
On 1 February 2023, Talovierov signed for Austrian Bundesliga club LASK on loan until the end of the season.[3] On 5 February 2024, LASK made the transfer permanent and signed Talovierov until the summer of 2027.[4]
On 31 January 2025, English side Plymouth Argyle, who play in the EFL Championship, announced the signing of Talovierov for an undisclosed record fee on a three-and-a-half-year contract.[5] He made his debut the following day against West Bromwich Albion.[6]
Personal life
His father, Vadym Talovierov, is a retired football defender.[2]
