| Description | English: South part of chateau Ostrov nad Ohří, Carlsbad county, CZ Čeština: Jižní křídlo zámku v Ostrově nad Ohří na Karlovarsku. Deutsch: Ostrov, vormals Schlackenwerth, nähe Karlsbad. Herrschaft über Stadt und Schloss ging 1690 im Erbgang an Franziska Sibylla Augusta von Sachsen-Lauenburg, die im gleichen Jahr Markgraf Ludwig Wilhelm von Baden heiratete. Nach einem Brand des alten Schlosses ließen sie in den Jahren 1691 bis 1697 das neue Weiße Schloss errichten, in dem heute eine Schule untergebracht ist. Hierher flüchtete zunächst Großherzog Leopold II. von Habsburg-Toskana mit seiner Familie vor der Revolte gegen seine Herrschaft in der Toskana, bevor sie dann nach Schloss Brandyo umsiedelten. |
