Ana Ambrazienė (14 April 1955 – 12 February 2025), also known as Anna Kostecka (or Kastetskaya), was a Lithuanian hurdler.[1]

Background

Ambrazienė she was born in Vilnius on 14 April 1955, and was of Polish descent.[2][3][4] She died in Vilnius on 12 February 2025, at the age of 69.[5]

Career

Ambrazienė represented the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 1980s. Her personal best in the women's 400 m hurdles was 54.02 at a meet in Moscow on 11 June 1983. That mark was the standing world record for over a year.

In 1985, Ambrazienė graduated from the Lithuanian Institute of Physical Education. She became a physical education teacher from 1999 to 2006.[5]
