Diff · History -105 There is little historical evidence to support the idea that corsets at this point were primarily for back support or breast support; this is historical revisionism. In fact, if the corset is worn lifelong as intended, it weakens the back muscles and makes corsets required for daily tasks while still limiting the user's movement. Primary reason for wearing corsets was to create a tapered waist and upright posture.

Diff · History 1,220 18th and early 19th centuries: separated the turn of the 19th century to its own section, since the fashion changed considerably then. Still need to add more info about the transition from Regency short stays to Victorian era corsets
Diff · History 248 The Edwardian corset: added information and removed unsourced statements. It is not supported by the sources cited that corsets in the 18th century were "comfortable" or did not limit breathing, see Steele page 24, 70.
