Wythe Township is one of twenty-four townships in Hancock County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2020 census, its population was 246 and it contained 117 housing units.[1]
Geography
According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Wythe Township has a total area of 38.10 square miles (98.68 km2), of which 38.08 square miles (98.63 km2) (or 99.96%) is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 km2) (or 0.04%) is water.[2]

As of the 2020 census[1] there were 246 people, 117 households, and 112 families residing in the township. The population density was 6.46 inhabitants per square mile (2.49/km2). There were 117 housing units at an average density of 3.07 per square mile (1.19/km2). The racial makeup of the township was 95.12% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.41% from other races, and 4.47% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.81% of the population.
There were 117 households, out of which 12.00% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 95.73% were married couples living together, 0.00% had a female householder with no spouse present, and 4.27% were non-families. 4.30% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.30% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.49 and the average family size was 2.55.
The township's age distribution consisted of 16.8% under the age of 18, 5.5% from 18 to 24, 22.3% from 25 to 44, 45.4% from 45 to 64, and 10.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 45.5 years. For every 100 females, there were 66.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.1 males.
