Recognize featured/good topics
Could/should we have a section for featured and good topics under Wikipedia:WikiProject_Japan#Recognized_content? There are at least 4 Japan related featured topics and possibly some good topics as well (haven't checked those). bamse (talk) 23:52, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
- National Treasures of Japan should be added. I think we need to translate ja:日の丸 into the Flag of Japan because its long prehistory is not really explained. I'd like to see some business topics there. --Shinkansen Fan (talk) 03:10, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
Look Japan
Does anyone know when Look Japan stopped publishing? Did a Japanese newspaper state this?
What was its corporate name in Japanese?

Naming order related to WMF participant
Would anyone mind looking at:
It's a discussion about the naming order of a WMF participant who made comments about the Logo of Wikipedia and the Japanese Wikipedia Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 17:00, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
Kyūshū Hikōki K.K.
There is a discussion at Talk:Kyūshū Hikōki K.K.#Requested move regarding moving the page to a title without the diacritical marks, Kyushu Hikoki K.K.. I'm unclear on exactly what the WP guideliens are for this name. Any help from this project on clarifying the issue would be appreciated. Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 11:35, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
Sources for Iwasaki Shoten
I started User:WhisperToMe/Iwasaki Shoten
But I would like to have reliable sources that prove notability. I have had difficulty finding Japanese sources that do this. Would anyone mind helping find reliable sources for this subject? Thanks, WhisperToMe (talk) 18:44, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
Hello. Please, could anyone speaking Japanese check this article and verify the claims/names in it? The content is hardly verifiable with the help of reliable English sources. Thanks for any help. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 14:10, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
- I've taken a quick look and removed some material, notably the names of people who'd been sourcelessly listed as criminals. Well, there was one source: a Wayback Machine grab of an anonymous page within an unknown and presumably personal website. Even now, there's a considerable amount of unsourced detail that, I'd uneducatedly guess, might titillate a psychopathic reader. (And it certainly seems to excite some readers: see this recent edit, in which some customer of Qwest Communications Company (Denver, CO) finds the four of them raped her (over 400 times) insufficient, and elsewhere adds She Been Rape (400 Times).)
- Unusually, the corresponding article in Japanese WP isn't totally worthless: it lists books, among them:
- Would somebody here with time and a strong stomach care to read one of these (if it appears to be any good) and to improve the article? -- Hoary (talk) 13:25, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
{{Infobox Japanese temples}} is up for deletion as being unused. 65.94.77.11 (talk) 07:54, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
- The last four parameters of {{Infobox Japanese temples}}, formalname, aka, amulets, and culture, seem to match the last four of ja:Template:日本の寺院, 正式名, 別称, ja:札所, and 文化財. Please add these, ja:寺格, 中興年, and 中興 to {{Infobox Buddhist temple}} before deleting it, and if possible, add similar parameters to {{Infobox Shinto shrine}}--Shinkansen Fan (talk) 16:17, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
Big change at high importance template Template:Infobox Chinese
For all those interested, there's a rather big change applied to this infobox (see last section talkpage) with removing and unhiding fields. --Cold Season (talk) 22:08, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
