The project's goals are to build the foremost free-content encyclopedia of food and drink content in the English language by:
- Engaging in the creation, expansion, collaboration, maintenance of articles relating to the categories of food- and drink-related articles
- Providing developmental and structural guidelines and recommendations for editors of food- and drink-related articles
- Serving as the central point of discussion for all issues related to Food and Drink on Wikipedia
- Helping to maintain the various WP:Portals associated with this project and its sister projects.
