Bienvenue! Willkommen! Welcome! What a year 2014 has been. The Eurovision Song Contest 2014 saw Austria become triumphant for their second time in Eurovision history, when Conchita Wurst won with the song "Rise Like a Phoenix". A mere week later and Austria found victory again when Ziyu He won the Eurovision Young Musicians 2014, in Cologne, Germany. ABU Radio Song Festival 2014 took place in Sri Lanka, whilst the ABU TV Song Festival 2014 took place in Macau. In November, the southern Mediterranean archipelago of Malta hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014, their first ever hosting of any Eurovision Family of Events, of which Italy won in their débutante year. And finally, Kazakhstan won the Türkvizyon Song Contest 2014 also held in November. And so 2015 is now upon us, with so many events scheduled to take place that will keep us busier than ever before, we take a look ahead to see what's in store for us. In May 2015 we have the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna, and the ABU Radio Song Festival 2015 in Yangon. Sometime in the Spring will see the return of the Intervision Song Contest 2015, scheduled to take place in 2014 Winter Olympic Games city of Sochi. Then in June we have the Eurovision Young Dancers 2015 in Plzeň. In Asia, Istanbul play hosts to the ABU TV Song Festival 2015 on 28 October, whilst both Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 and Türkvizyon Song Contest 2015 expected to take place around November/December. The fun-packed season doesn't just end there; we also have Cân i Gymru, Bundesvision Song Contest, a special 60th Eurovision Anniversary Show hosted by the BBC, and many national pre-selection events taking place in the run up to their respective contests. So keep that team spirit momentum running as there is loads that needs to be worked upon and keep us all preoccupied throughout the year. Please also remember to keep an eye on the project talk page as there are several active debates still taking place that require thorough input from as many project members as possible. Some of you may also wish to join WikiProject Song, especially when the topical area we deal with surrounds itself primarily by songs. You never know, you may even pick up a few hints and tips from their project which will help you flourish as a Wikipedian editor too. Encourage potential new members to the project by posting {{subst:EurovisionInvite}} (which will produced this template) on their talk pages. If you would like something to appear in the next edition of Eurovision Monthly, then please inform us at the Project Newsdesk. And so it bring me great pleasure to wish all of you a Happy and Prosperous 2015. Happy editing! Wesley Mouse | ||||
