- Write new articles: See Wikipedia:Requested articles/music/Albums
- Improve articles needing attention: Choose an article from Category:Albums articles needing attention. Don't forget to reset the
|attention=parameter in the {{WikiProject Albums}} template on the talk page when done. - Keep an eye on upcoming albums: For articles in Category:Upcoming albums, change the
|class=parameter in the {{WikiProject Albums}} template on the talk page from "future" to the appropriate value on the quality scale when the album has been released. - Sort stubs: Move articles from Category:Album stubs to more specific stub categories.
- Expand stubs: Choose an album from a stub category.
- Categorize album articles:
- Use a stub tag if appropriate.
- Add an artist's album category: See Category:Albums not categorized by artist - if creating a new category
{{Albums category}}does a lot of the work. - Add a year of release category: See Category:Album articles without a by-year category.
- A subcategory of Category:Albums might also be appropriate.
- Remove articles from the Year in Music categories: See Category:Music by year
- Manage Infoboxes (Be sure to remove or alter the templates as you complete the work.)
- Create infoboxes for articles that lack one: See Category:Album articles without infoboxes
- Fix non-standard infoboxes: See Category:Album articles with non-standard infoboxes
- Add images for articles without cover art by uploading images of at least 220x220 pixels: Category:Wikipedia requested images of albums and Category:Album infoboxes lacking a cover

- Add or cleanup articles with deficient or no discographies: See Category:Musicians work group articles needing discographies
- Move page titles to their correct destinations: See the list of album articles that may need to be moved as per naming conventions and the list of improperly capitalized album articles.
- Add fair use rationales to cover images description pages: See the list of album covers with disputed fair use claim and the list of album covers without fair use rationale.
