Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2025 January 27

Only two links of direct relation to the subject outside the main article on the subject. No navigation requirement is met. WikiCleanerMan (talk) 20:04, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Only two links and one redirect. No navigation. A completely unnecessary sidebar. WikiCleanerMan (talk) 19:53, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NENAN. This links back to a section of the article about the Dublin hurling team. Does this really warrants a navigation template? The Banner talk 14:13, 20 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Propose merging Template:Crumb family with Template:Robert Crumb.
Either we keep this navbox for the {{Crumb family}}, and remove the links from {{Robert Crumb}}, or we merge the two together. We do not need both. --woodensuperman 09:48, 20 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No such thing as Antarctic English, source given is inadequate, as per template talk page. The template is not currently used anywhere. cagliost (talk) 13:57, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete for these reasons:
    1. This template is not useful or usable on the English Wikipedia (this is WP:TFD#REASONS, number 3).
    2. The template makes the unsupported claim that Antarctic English uses "its own spelling conventions", which does not appear to be true; templates providing editing guidance should not make unsupported claims or recommendations.
    3. The differences between Antarctic English and other varieties of English, according to the article, are a spoken accent, which is irrelevant for writing articles, and jargon unique to Antarctica for some common English words, e.g. "big eye" for "insomnia". We should not use these jargon terms unannotated in English Wikipedia articles, per MOS:COMMONALITY, so the template provides guidance that is contrary to MOS. – Jonesey95 (talk) 14:54, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
