There are many older IPs as well, listed at Talk:Michael Marder. The proposed master was a pure WP:SPA for Marder, making almost no edits not related to him. The first sock is an obvious sock - two edits, just like the master's. One of the few edits the master made not to Marder, was to Slavoj Žižek (diff). The most recent sock Philosofan, was created in April 2016 which was a period of high activity by the master and obviously socking IPs as you can see in the history here. Philophan's first edit was to the Slavoj Žižek page, this account has kind of pecked around some other philosophy pages, but shows up reliably to restore content added by IPs, eg here and here and here and the SOCK/MEAT here is obvious. We have more academic promotion in WP, like this recent case and this one. And yes, even philosophers.
