There's no compelling reason for this redirect to the Spanish mid-sized city. There is, however, a fairly compelling alternate target: American patriotism. A web search for Murica returns millions of results (I know, I know) and scads of actual, mostly reputable news sources that use the term. It's almost always used as a way of referring to American patriotism. The prior redirect was to Stereotypes of Americans and had no reason to point there; this proposed target is much more in line, according to sources, with what a typical reader is expecting when they type in "Murica". Perhaps it's just me or WP:WORLDWIDE, but I have never heard the United States called Murica nor 'Murica (I lived in Texas for a couple of years, but that is hardly the United States). The term is most commonly used for bicycle racing these days (I'm biased) but certainly has uses in other sports: a yacht racing regatta can be made up of stages, an automobile rally race is often made up of special stages, and probably plenty of others which I'm not familiar with. A hot air balloon race would make a good stage race, probably, and events like The Amazing Race fit the definition of a stage race. Actually there's probably a case to be made for converting the target into a set index since it currently only really deals with road bicycle racing, but we could instead probably have a pretty decent article summarizing stage races in other sports. • Comment - I've requested input from WP:POLITICS. I found this, which looks like an old Usenet FAQ that became a university lecture, and seems to have been written by a scholar so may be somewhat reliable, but it doesn't help with finding a target. I think that it could be something written about at Sovereign state but it isn't now, and doesn't look like it ever has been. • Clarification There are actually two typos - Kussmall, Meier - and the hyphen in the redirect, which is why I thought it unlikely people search for exactly that misspelling. However, seeing how this is turning out to be confusingly missable to many people here and considering WP:CHEAP, perhaps it should be kept. Cyrej (talk) 21:03, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
• Keep per WP:RTYPO and WP:CHEAP - it's one typo per word, not counting the hyphenation which we normally keep alternatives for anyway. While two typos may be implausible, it's certainly not confusing with another target. Ivanvector 🍁 (talk) 21:10, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
