Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
- To list a technical request: the Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
- If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Uncontroversial technical requests
- Ulysse (Rebel) → Ulysse et Pénélope (move · ) – wP:NATURALDAB, the "Rebel" is quite opaque for a disambiguator. It would do better under its alternate title. -- 65.92.246.77 (talk) 05:33, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- IM-1 → IM-1 Odysseus (currently a redirect back to IM-1) (move · ) – WP:RECOGNIZABILITY most of the news reports referred to it by the lander's name "Odysseus" when it landed, broke a leg, and tipped over. 65.92.246.77 (talk) 02:16, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- IM-2 → IM-2 Athena (move · ) – WP:RECOGNIZABILITY most of the news reports referred to it by the lander's name "Athena" when it landed and tipped over. 65.92.246.77 (talk) 02:16, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Winifred, Countess of Dundonald → Winifred Cochrane, Countess of Dundonald (currently a redirect instead to Douglas Cochrane, 12th Earl of Dundonald) (move · ) – Just add the surname. Lack of surname is usually for royalty or in very exceptional cases. This seems not to be either. Omnis Scientia (talk) 15:56, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
- Toconoté → Tonocoté (currently a redirect instead to Lule language) (move · ) – The current page name is spelled incorrectly, and the correct spelling is taken up by a redirect. 🪐Kepler-1229b | talk | contribs🪐 00:14, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Potamides → Potameides (currently a redirect back to Potamides) (move · ) – Only RS I can find for the name is Larson, who spells it this way; this also follows the Greek (ποταμηίδες). No reason to omit the 'e' in transliterating. Michael Aurel (talk) 01:12, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Draft:Kidz Bop (album) → Kidz Bop (album) (currently a redirect instead to Kidz Bop#Albums) (move · ) – move into mainspace over redirect. UnregisteredBiohazard (talk) 04:22, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

- Draft:Kidz Bop 3 → Kidz Bop 3 (currently a redirect instead to Kidz Bop#Albums) (move · ) – move into mainspace over redirect. UnregisteredBiohazard (talk) 04:22, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Draft:Kidz Bop 4 → Kidz Bop 4 (currently a redirect instead to Kidz Bop#Albums) (move · ) – move into mainspace over redirect. UnregisteredBiohazard (talk) 04:22, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- List of military engagements during the Gaza war → List of military engagements during the 2023 Middle Eastern crisis (move · ) – Per a merge proposal with no discussion over a month (WP:SILENCE consensus) Eagowl (talk) 05:32, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Khvajeh Nafas → Khaje Nafas (move · ) – WP:RECOGNIZABILITY There are cases in Farsi where an extra و (/v/) is written but not spelled. Khaaje/Khaje/Khajeh(خواجه) is one of those, written as Khvaje but spelled like Khāje. refer to: Khajeh[1] and the Wiktionary index[2] The.nitwit 06:39, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Florian Krygier Municipal Stadium → Stadion Miejski im. Floriana Krygiera (currently a redirect back to Florian Krygier Municipal Stadium) (move · ) – not discussed move from 2024 lets see and "Stadion Miejski im. Floriana Krygiera" has just more Google Hits Paradygmaty (talk) 08:33, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Paradygmaty You want us to revert your own move? Toadspike [Talk] 09:09, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Toadspike Yes, because my concept of translating stadium names into English has been challenged (see discussions at Stadion Miejski (Białystok) and Stadion Stali Mielec), ergo I request the restoration of the most commonly used name in Polish. Paradygmaty (talk) 09:11, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Paradygmaty You want us to revert your own move? Toadspike [Talk] 09:09, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Lorna Clarke (politician) → Lorna Clarke (currently a redirect instead to BBC Music) (move · ) – Lorna Clarke is just a redirect. Therefore, Lorna Clarke (politician) is the primary topic and a hatnote can be used on that page to direct to BBC Music. Steelkamp (talk) 08:59, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

- Isma'ilism → Ismailism (currently a redirect back to Isma'ilism) (move · ) – spelling per the OED and MW, as well as consensus from the only discussion of this on the talk page — kwami (talk) 02:41, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- Though the simpler version (Ismailism) is supported by various guidelines (MOS:AR, MOS:ISLAM, and WP:TSC), this exact move has been reverted before [3], so I believe a move discussion is required. The discussion on the talk page shows significant support for both versions and in my opinion is not enough to demonstrate consensus on this. Toadspike [Talk] 07:31, 7 March 2025 (UTC)

- @Toadspike: where are you seeing "significant support for both versions"? The discussion seems to be (among those who offered an opinion) unanimous that it should be Ismailism, with rationales given, so naming policy appears to favour the move. I would be inclined to move this and then if someone objects they can always revert and demand a full discussion later. — Amakuru (talk) 10:12, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Amakuru I read the comments of Constantine, Ogress, and Iskandar323 as either partially or fully supporting the use of an apostrophe. Toadspike [Talk] 14:37, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- To be clear, I am not opposed to the move and you may perform it if you like. Toadspike [Talk] 14:41, 7 March 2025 (UTC)

- The Devil in the arts and popular culture (currently a redirect to Devil in the arts and popular culture) → The Devil in popular culture (currently a redirect instead to Devil in the arts and popular culture) (move · ) – Shorter (WP:CONCISE, WP:PRECISE) Consistent with other/similar articles. AimanAbir18plus (talk) 14:58, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
- @AimanAbir18plus This was already moved (by you, two months ago) and then reverted as an undiscussed move. It will require a discussion to move forward. ASUKITE 16:07, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
