Armedblowfish (talk • contribs) I'd like to help promote Wikilove, or at least Wikirespect. When conflicts escalate beyond polite disagreement, it seems editors stop listening to each other because the other editor made a personal attack, or reverted something, or failed to assume good faith. While regretful that either party failed to handle the problem as well as they could have, I believe that these mistakes are only human, and that this does not mean the editors cannot reach a point of mutual understanding and some degree of respect. Withdraw. Do not feel qualified at this time, but would like to try Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/Opus Dei, as I have already offered. Armedblowfish (talk|mail|contribs) 04:28, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Un-withdraw. See Essjay's comment at User talk:Armedblowfish#Mediation. Armedblowfish (talk|mail|contribs) 11:37, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Outside opinions:
- Am I allowed to post here? If so: I found Armedblowfish's reaction to my complaint about an erroneous block very nice and helpful. Socafan 21:33, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Of course - positive and negative criticism from all is welcome. (I'm glad you found my comments helpful, by the way. Thanks!) Note - the discussion referred to above occurred on a number of places including Socafan's talk page and Essjay's talk page. (Hopefully Essjay will also provide his opinion.) - Based on my personal experience with this user, I'd support their involvement with Wikipedia in this capacity, and hope others will agree. I've never needed their dispute resolution, but I've never had anyone stalk me for a Wikinews interview quite so patiently and politely :)
Comments:
- Have you ever been involved in any on-wiki disputes? Ral315 (talk) 21:57, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes. See Talk:Daedalus_class_battlecruiser#Wikipedia:Spoiler_warning (there was a revert war on that article) and User_talk:Tawkerbot2/Jun06#Malfunction_on_Comparison_of_open_source_operating_systems (which included an edit war on the talk page, starting here). There have been others, but those are the only two that I would say involved more than polite disagreement. That experience probably seems a bit thin too you, but I would really like to help.
