- File:Charli XCX - Boom Clap.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Nahnah4 ( | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Fails WP:NFCC#8 and WP:NFCC#3a and WP:NFCC#3b also. The article in question, "Boom Clap" is the definition of NFCC failing, with at least three non-free cover arts being added, two of them almost same to each other and none of them except one has any kind of enclyclopedic significance, neither would their removal be detrimental to any kind of understanding of the article. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 09:30, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was: Keep but only in Music: What Happened?. TLSuda (talk) 00:18, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
- File:Music What Happened book cover.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Lwarrenwiki ( | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Fails WP:NFCC#8, see footnote to WP:NFCI §1. Stefan2 (talk) 21:15, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Stefan2: The image is now also used in an article specifically about the book Music: What Happened?. The previous concerns are now moot. Please withdraw the proposal for deletion. Lwarrenwiki (talk) 12:41, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- The image can't be used in that article as it violates WP:NFCC#10c there. Besides, it is still used in the other article. --Stefan2 (talk) 12:50, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- I will fix the WP:NFCC#10c issue this morning; after that is done, WP:NFCCE §1 indicates the image should not be deleted. Please give me a bit longer to address the WP:NFCC#8 issue before removing from the first article. Thanks. Lwarrenwiki (talk) 13:12, 22 August 2014 (UTC)

- Keep Absolutely satisfies #10 on Music: What Happened? now, and there's plenty of discussion on Scott Miller (pop musician) to satisfy #8 there too. XeroxKleenex (talk) 21:46, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
- Where do you find discussion about the cover artwork in the article about the writer? --Stefan2 (talk) 22:27, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
- Keep: A brief (but, I believe, adequately substantive) discussion of the significance of the cover artwork has now been added at Scott Miller (pop musician)#Music: What Happened?. Lwarrenwiki (talk) 02:48, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
- That sentence is not critical discussion. That sentence is a textual replacement of the cover, implying that the cover violates WP:NFCC#1 in the article as replaceable by text. --Stefan2 (talk) 18:46, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Stefan2: I would be gratified to see a few examples of discussions of cover art that have passed your interpretation of this rule. Would you be kind enough to point me to those, for use as a model of what I should be striving for? Lwarrenwiki (talk) 19:04, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

- Please also consider that your phrase "textual replacement" doesn't appear in WP:NFCC#1, which requires the availability of a "free replacement." In the visual arts, a brief written description would not ordinarily be considered an equivalent, much less a "free replacement," for even a low-resolution image of the artwork. I'd respectfully suggest, for example, that "The painting, by Leonardo da Vinci, depicts a woman with an enigmatic smile" conveys limited information, such that it couldn't reasonably be considered to be a "free replacement" for an image of the Mona Lisa. Lwarrenwiki (talk) 19:35, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
- Freely licensed text is an example of a freely licensed replacement to a non-free file. --Stefan2 (talk) 19:48, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
- Do you disagree with XeroxKleenex that the image, as used in Music: What Happened?, passes WP:NFCC#10c? That is enough, by itself, for closure of this FfD discussion as a keep, because the use (or possible removal) of the image in the author's article is a separate matter which no longer involves FfD. (I would, however, very much appreciate seeing your examples of satisfactory critical discussion that have, in your opinion, satisfied the criteria of WP:NFCC#8.) - Keep – The book cover art is discussed in reliable sources: it was specifically designed to convey Miller's experiential credibility, which is an important point to make for a novice author. All other criteria in WP:NFCCP are fulfilled. SteveStrummer (talk) 18:59, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
