- Propose merging Category:Flap consonants to Category:Tap and flap consonants
- Nominator's rationale: Per Tap and flap consonants#Tap vs. flap and since we don't appear to have separate articles on taps and flaps with the same place of articulation, this is probably an unnecessary layer of categorisation. 1234qwer1234qwer4 14:31, 18 September 2022 (UTC)

- Propose deleting Category:Migrants from Portuguese India to British India ( | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Nominator's rationale: delete, not a defining characteristic for the only article in this category about someone who was born and lived in India. Marcocapelle (talk) 12:28, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
- Delete -- A move from a Portuguese factory to and English one is unlikely to be significant. Peterkingiron (talk) 16:50, 18 September 2022 (UTC)

- Nominator's rationale: merge, the distinction between the two categories is not clear. Marcocapelle (talk) 12:21, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
- Merge -- They amount to much the same thing. Occasionally British people were in India for several generations: I came across a case of a man, apparently as English as me, who needed to be naturalised becuase both he and his father had been born in India. - Propose deleting Category:Neolithic proto-civilizations ( | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Nominator's rationale: "Proto-civilization" is a poorly-defined, unscientific concept and "Neolithic proto-civilization" is not used in reliable sources. Duplicative of Category:Neolithic cultures and Category:Neolithic sites. – Joe (talk) 10:26, 18 September 2022 (UTC)

- Nominator's rationale: rename per precedent in this earlier discussion. Note that a number of categories in this tree already have "from", they are not included in this nomination. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:00, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
- Support being physically from a place is more concrete and less loaded that being "of" a place, which implies one belonging to a place or a place belonging to you. 67kevlar (talk) 18:12, 20 September 2022 (UTC)

- Oppose for Jews, Tartars, Cossacks and Armenians, because these people were in their native Empire. Most of the other ethnic items are for expatriates or their descendants. Equally internal exiles, which was a sentence imposed by the Russian Empire. The Lithuanians and probably Ukrainians probably need renaming to the same format as the Jews and Tartars. Peterkingiron (talk) 17:01, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
- Not sure how being from their native Empire would influence the choice for "of" or "from", can you explain? Also, for Jews and Armenians this was not their native Empire (most Armenians lived in the Ottoman Empire). Marcocapelle (talk) 06:36, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- Support "of" can be misleading. Rathfelder (talk) 16:53, 24 September 2022 (UTC)
