- Nominator's rationale: Not a good idea to categorise activists, not by issue but by century. Different sorts of activists dont have much in common. May even be opposed to each other. And the term activist is modern. Very few people are described as activists before the twentieth century. Rathfelder (talk) 23:23, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- Support I agree with the nomination's rationale. SquareInARoundHole (talk) 23:26, 13 March 2022 (UTC)

- Support activitist are categorized by what they support, and so mass categories that ignore that are not a good idea. Many are parts of movements with specfic time frames as well, so by century categories are not needed. Also, if we view sufragists as activists, and start categorizing 19th and 20th century sufragists by such, we are going to artifically split a category for no good reason at least in the American context.John Pack Lambert (talk) 19:59, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

- Nominator's rationale: delete, drum corps is not a defining characteristic of these venues. These are football and multi-purpose stadiums. Marcocapelle (talk) 18:30, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. This sort of information might be appropriate in a list or in an article about the championship, but I agree that it is not defining for the various stadiums. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 18:23, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

Category:Educationalists
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: soft delete (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 06:34, 21 March 2022 (UTC)
- Propose deleting Category:Educationalists ( | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Nominator's rationale: This category was first decided upon to be renamed per decision at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2016_March_28#Category:Educationist. However, later a user recreated this category and used it on 45 articles which had clearer classifications available. There are plenty of other categories available that are more specific and hierarchically structured/linked. I suggest this category to be deleted now as it is empty, superfluous, and in my opinion introduces unusual English terms (educationalist and educationist). Sda030 (talk) 13:14, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- Comment, nominator has emptied the category. A few examples of articles that were there are: Fred Clarke (educationist), William Craik (educationalist) and Andrew Davidson (educationalist). Marcocapelle (talk) 16:11, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- Question: does/did this category have the same scope as Category:Educational theorists? Marcocapelle (talk) 16:25, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- Reply: No. Category:Educational theorists seems to have been intended for those working on the theory/research/writing/thinking side of education (in contrast to Category:Educators which is more on the teaching/practical aspects of education). These two categories have existed for some time. Category:Educationalists was a rather unclear category, that judged from the articles it was applied to, seems to cover everyone being involved in education. Hence, it seems to have been a catch-all category. In other words, Educationalists can be broken down into two-three more specific categories. Sda030 (talk) 18:14, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- Comment This category has been emptied by Sda030 prior to this CFD discussion being closed which defeats the purpose of having a discussion about this category. Liz Read! Talk! 05:07, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
- Ah, yes, I apologize for that, learned about the procedure after the action was done. I promise I will revert my changes if the consensus lands on oppose. Sda030 (talk) 09:12, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
- Comment -- I have always wondered what the difference was between an educationalist and a teacher. One sounds grander, but I suspect it is not. Education lecturers, i.e. those who train the teachers would certainly need to be a separate category. Peterkingiron (talk) 14:31, 19 March 2022 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:West Coast Division (The Gambia). While "the whole Gambia's administrative division is currently a mess" may be true, there is a small consensus here to make this change, based on the articles The Gambia and West Coast Division (The Gambia) Kbdank71 14:53, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:West Coast Division (Gambia) to Category:West Coast Division (The Gambia)
- Nominator's rationale: rename for consistency with The Gambia. A speedy nomination was opposed. Marcocapelle (talk) 11:31, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- Support as implementation of the Radio 1 FM (The Gambia) precedent. Worth noting: the opposition by Armbrust was raised hours after the move review on that page closed. I have also tagged Category:People from West Coast Division (Gambia) to be renamed to Category:People from West Coast Division (The Gambia). Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 01:14, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

- Wait. The whole Gambia's administrative division is currently a mess. Namely, divisions from Category:Divisions of the Gambia are defunct, and Subdivisions of the Gambia article is apparently not up to date. Instead, six divisions have been renamed to "Local Government Areas" (e.g. the West Coast Division (The Gambia) is now Brikama LGA) and one (Central River Division) has been split. The information currently described in Districts of the Gambia seems to be correct. But this needs to be sorted out globally, renaming would be just a waste of time.
