Hi, I made this category. I'm not sure if it's true that they aren't notable. It's something notable enough that all the articles for these people do mention it. —ajf (talk) 22:29, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Comment It is also open to a lot of debate. Should Ted Cruz, known by a nick-name derived from his middle name be here? Jake Garn, under the same condition?John Pack Lambert (talk) 16:14, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Delete and upmerge this seems a contrived category. Presumably "technology by region" is largely a useless category given the relatively global marketplace - I would assume that television, radio, cell phones are nearly in every region, and while things like the abacus could be used more often in some regions than others, it is not unobtainable elsewhere. As for where an invention is made is better handled in the parents (or diffused to their children). Carlossuarez46 (talk) 22:07, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Per WP:SUBJECTIVECAT. This category is a grab bag of different meanings of the word "historical": - towns that were annexed into adjacent cities (1, 2, 3), cities that had a Jewish population killed in the Holocaust (4, 5, 6), types of city that aren't specifically Ukrainian (7, 8) and one that was founded in the 11th century A.D. (9). There are definitely some defining attributes here so I added the appropriate articles to Category:Former municipalities, The Holocaust in Ukraine, Category:Populated places established in the 11th century. As an overall category though, this is too subjective and it groups towns with almost nothing in common, save being in Ukraine. (The parent category has a handful of articles from around the world but all of them already have more specific categories to explain why they are historical.)RevelationDirect (talk) 01:52, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
