This article is heavily written as a journal, has zero to any relevant sources and is not really up to date. Is this place really worth a single article or would it be better mentioned maybe in the Telford or Madeley articles? DragonofBatley (talk) 00:35, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Crouch, Swale, @PamD, @Dave.Dunford, @Rupples, @DankJae, @KeithD others thoughts? Not WP:Canvassing btw just simply tagging editors I have seen active on most of the Telford and neighbouring areas articles...DragonofBatley (talk) 00:38, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: The article obviously needs referencing. There's three pages on Woodside in this book on Britain's new towns [1] and this [2]; part of a study, here [3] Rupples (talk) 02:24, 27 December 2024 (UTC) Also this: [4] Rupples (talk) 03:25, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

- It is an OS settlement[5] but I can't fine much coverage online so maybe it should be merged with Madeley, Shropshire, its parish. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:02, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- Comment Deletion of this article will confirm that council wards are not inherently notable, a clarification which we need. PamD 09:56, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- Comment The two URLs given as "sources", which were bare dead links, both have archived copies available online so I have added those. This place seems, with the links provided by Rupples above, to be rather more notable than many wards and "suburbs" about which articles have been created. By all means let's clean up such articles by merging them into their parent parishes or towns, as the reader will generally be better served by a broader, well-sourced, article. - Comment. Initial impression is the article should be kept or merged into Madeley. Rupples (talk) 12:12, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- Comment"'. I have created newer articles for the borough and categories for parishes. I also made sure to update the articles accordingly and if the Domesday Book and older books confirm the presence of the said settlements such as St George's, Shropshire, Priorslee, Beveley, Leegomery etc... they are all notable as they have their own Landmarks or history. Whereas Brookside, Woodside etc are estates built when Telford was. As opposed to say Stirchley, Dawley and Malinslee which existed years before. DragonofBatley (talk) 15:10, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- The articles whose value I query are those for places like Hollyhurst, Telford, initially described as a "suburb" but seeming to be nothing other than a local authority ward. PamD 23:50, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- I mostly crested that article when researching locations on Google and when seeing map names like Hollyhurst Beveley etc. I went about seeing if there was notable sources for an entry. Beveley passed but Hollyhurst was more around a colliery and works so more an industrial suburb. It maybe better merged with Oakengates since it's present on the ward. But Beveley of course existed prior DragonofBatley (talk) 11:18, 28 December 2024 (UTC)

- Keep given its both a ward, an OS settlement and more sources have been added to the article. Crouch, Swale (talk) 22:01, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
