Filming just started and release date is not until November 2026 (21 months). Fails WP:NFF. Nothing notable about the production and sources are mainly announcements or otherwise unreliable sources. CNMall41 (talk) 18:29, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct about the filming. I read that filming began January 19, but that is for the second part as you pointed out. Still curious where the press is that makes the production notable for a film that is almost two years away from being released. Looking for press that isn't churnalism or based on announcements from the filmmakers. --CNMall41 (talk) 23:41, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Filming for Part 1 has already been completed. The pre-production of this film has been long ongoing, since 2017. It is a highly anticipated production, and it is a long project requiring extensive post-production, which is why it will be taking so long to release. I recommend moving the space to draft, but deletion should be out of question totally. Sribrahma (talk) 04:04, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Why though? It was moved to draft two weeks ago already and you moved it right back out. This is a speedy candidate but I only sent it to AfD so we can get protection on the creation should it not survive the discussion. --CNMall41 (talk) 17:41, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Filming did not complete for Ramayana 1. Actor Yash who is also a producer began filming his scenes yesterday (Feb 21) for Ramayana 1. RangersRus (talk) 09:14, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per MushyYank's reasoning. Article needs general clean-up but meets the notability criteria for inclusion (chiefly due to it being the most expensive Indian film made, and that filming has already been completed). Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:50, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sourcing is still required. Can you provide the significant coverage? Looking for in-depth coverage as opposed to the press releases or churnalism or announcements from the filmmakers. --CNMall41 (talk) 17:41, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Krimuk2.0: The filming did not complete. Per latest news from Feb 22, 2025, Yash has landed in Mumbai and has already begun shooting for Ramayana - Part 1. A source informed a leading portal that Yash started filming his portions for Ramayana yesterday (February 21) after two days of costume trials. RangersRus (talk) 09:11, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, still filmimg, maybe reshoots; which is common for films of this scope and scale. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 09:13, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Does not say anything about reshoots. Its a shooting for war sequence. See what the source says and per it, yesterday is when Yash began shooting for his portions. RangersRus (talk) 09:17, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The fact that he is playing Ravan means that his role will be pivotal in Part 2 anyway, so makes sense that he has just begun shooting. Pinkvilla gives us more info. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 09:18, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
So you agree the filming is not complete for Ramayana Part 1, as of now. RangersRus (talk) 09:21, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, obviously. I'd amend my above statement to say that a "majority" of filming has completed. Still passes notability though. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 09:23, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
disagree on the notability. Still fails WP:NFILM that is missing indepth coverage in sources. I think it is still better to draftify as it was done before till the film reaches post-production or close to release date to get more significant coverage. RangersRus (talk) 09:30, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's fine for you to disagree, but I look at it from a different perspective. If a film being mounted on a scale that makes it the most expensive Indian film ever made *never releases* after a majority of filming is complete, it will still be a notable event and dare I say, an even more interesting event than a released film.
