- Delete, the examples have little in common with each other, to the point of not even exactly matching this phrase - the related dab page does a better job illustrating the use of the phrase, and that's enough for this topic. A notable figurative term should have some strong etymology sources easily available, but the best source I can come up with is this - which doesn't clear WP:NOTDICT as mentioned above.
