The result was keep. The last relist seems to be in error (Eastmain's source is pretty accurate, beyond doubt).Closing, much earlier and moving to correct name. (non-admin closure) ∯WBGconverse 14:10, 2 August 2018 (UTC)

Unsourced since 2006. Unknown if he is still alive, which if he is, would be a violation of WP:BLP. » Shadowowl | talk 18:02, 21 July 2018 (UTC)

- Delete. There's a credible notability claim being made here, but it's not supported by any reliable sourcing to verify that it's actually true. We've had a lot of articles created over the years about "notable" politicians who didn't really hold the political office they were claimed to have held, like the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/James Snipplet hoax — so it's not the unsourced claim of holding a notable political office that gets a person over WP:NPOL, but the reliable sourcing that can be shown to properly verify that the claim of holding a notable political office is true. I'm willing to reconsider this if somebody with better access to Indian media sourcing than I've got can find proper verification — but the baseline for inclusion in Wikipedia is not just what an article claims, but how well it sources what it claims. - Keep. This reference] spells his name as two words: Chhedi Lal. "Of all the Lieutenant Governors the tenure of Chhedi Lal is still remembered by the people here as he contributed a lot for the development of Pondicherry. The widening of a key thoroughfare _ Jawaharlal Nehru street _ and the construction of Kamban Kalai Arangam are among the good works contributed by Chhedi Lal." I think the reference in The Hindu is all the evidence needed to prove that this is not a hoax. https://books.google.com/books?id=iByKxEcEaiAC&pg=PA25&lpg=PA25&dq=Chhedilal+Lieutenant+Governor&source=bl&ots=DTBNdl2Mxu&sig=hxqd-Yz-4U6qsb75rzIEOyuY8Sc&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiTupyH_bDcAhWhy4MKHem8DpEQ6AEIYjAH Eastmain (talk • contribs) 20:02, 21 July 2018 (UTC)
