Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Kalajan/John Cradle

The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed deletion of the miscellaneous page below. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the page's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this page.

The result of the discussion was Delete - As the creator clearly stated the subpages will never be moved into article space and as such they serve no purpose. Also keeping unsrouced content (especially when it is about a person whether real or not) hanging around in userpsace is not a good practice. Tiptoety talk 06:18, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copied from accidental listing at AFD. Rationale was: "Search does not turn up anything. Obviously fake. See WP:NOTMYSPACE. imonKSK 21:07, 8 January 2009 (UTC)" Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells • Otter chirpsHELP) 21:33, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • weak keep looks like probable sandboxes for use in his edits on wrestling (he has indeed edited ouside his userspace). Suggest mild mannered cluing in instead of deletion. Use of fake data in a sandbox does not, as far as I know, harm anyone nor violate any rules. Collect (talk) 21:55, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak Keep if some reliable sources can be collected and enough notable information can be added. I don't see the harm of keeping it in the sandbox for development assuming it's going towards another legitimate article.  Hazardous Matt  22:01, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Reply - That's the thing, there is no sources. there is nothing real there. Just read it. Does it look real? Same with John Cradle. As for collect, yes he has made edits, but these userspace sandbox is not a article in working. It's just a made up promotion. User has stated that "They are real, BWW is a local wrestling league and John Cradle is one of my Uncle's best friends, they were together at school." Find me 1 reliable source for proof of BWW and Cradle's exsistence. One. imonKSK 22:59, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, that is better. When one is playing with formats in a sandbox (as this user appears to do) the use of "real data" runs the risk of being called a fork. By using clearly fake stuff which no one would confuse with facts, the sandbox is being properly used. There is no requirement that a sandbox be only used to make a "real article" at all, and the purpose of a sandbox is for experimentation if anything. Collect (talk) 00:10, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but he is planning to put it into the mainspace. He says it here. imonKSK 00:14, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If and when he tries it, then speedy delete in mainspace. Seems that would be easy enough, no? Pre-emptive deletion seems odd to me. Collect (talk) 11:54, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No notability requirement exists for sandboxes that I could find. Collect (talk) 11:56, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yah exactly, it's a testing article in my damn sandbox! I use my sandbox to test thing that Hazardous Matt puts in my cheat code sheet! Kalajan 11:58, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
For those of you curious, he means this, which I gave him to understand basic wikiformatting.  Hazardous Matt  14:14, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. This is in userspace, and is no big deal. -- MISTER ALCOHOL T C 20:33, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Yes, it is if it is used as Myspace. This user also used his userspace to make up a fake career. It caused a lot of drama. No one wants to go through that again. imonKSK 20:47, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also, he mentions that it is real, and his uncle or father's best friend runs it. It is obvious that when he is done with this, he will try to put it to mainspace. imonKSK 20:51, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I give my word I'm not putting it on mainspace, who would even read it, and I know I can be blocked, it's just practicin' for making wrestling articles. Kalajan 20:53, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete I can't find evidence that this person or the organization even exist, so I doubt they can ever be actual articles. There is nothing wrong with having a test page, but ideally it should be just 1 test page and be named something like "/testpage". TJ Spyke 22:55, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, as you see, one is about a person, and the other about a wrestling league and roster.
And? You said that they are both testpages, didn't you?imonKSK 18:32, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah it's just for testing, like testing how to create an article on Dave Kapoor. Kalajan 18:51, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly, only one testpage is needed. If you wanted to, you could have made a subsection to the john cradle one and add BWW. There is no need for numerous "test pages" imonKSK 18:56, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Can you just delete the JC one? Kalajan 20:21, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
