Tale of Pipa

You are welcome! I added a notice about the moving of the content. This is actually the first time I've used the "copied". Usually when I move over large amounts of content I indicate in the edit summary where it's coming from, but that's it.

WhisperToMe (talk) 15:37, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

Cheers for that! I'm not usually especially precious about my contributions, but I spent ages dredging up information for that one... Yunshui  15:39, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
by the way, {{copied}} goes on the talkpage, not the article. Yunshui  15:41, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
I see. I'm glad to hear you took time to write the content :) - One trick I use to quickly get content to write an article is to search Google Books, and then get copies of the book pages. Check publishers of the books and if it's not self-publishing you have a series of RSes to work with WhisperToMe (talk) 15:42, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
My approach exactly - if you don't use it already then I highly recommend the Google Books citation tool to make the task even easier. Yunshui  15:44, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
Thanks! I'll check it out :) WhisperToMe (talk) 16:29, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

Request

Yunshui, want you to come and discuss on talk page of syal tribe with as much enthusiasm as you showed when you were blocking me [kirtimaansyal] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 14.139.128.14 (talk) 02:55, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

I have no interest in discussing the whys and wherefores of the Sial page. I have no opinion one way or the other on the page's content. My task as an administrator is to prevent disruption to Wikipedia, so if you continue blanking the article without first attaining consensus on the talkpage, I will be obliged to block you again. I would also point out that editing while logged out of your account is regarded as a form of sockpuppetry, and is itself grounds for a block; please use your registered account for editing in future. Barnea & Co. Page

Dear Yunshui,

I created a new page for Barnea & Co. law office in my sandbox, according to your advice: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Juanparve/sandbox I would kindly appriciate if you could check the page and let me know if any further change is required.

Please note that Barnea & Co. is an important law office in Israel and took part in several nation-wide projects, i added references for all important projects they were part of. i also added objective rankings by BDI code and IFLR1000, which are objective legal directories that give an independent rank to every law office (i noticed that all other law firms wiki pages gave BDI and IFLR ranking as a reference).

Looking forward to receiving your reply

Thank you Juan Parve. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Juanparve (talk • contribs)

Hi Juan. I'm sorry to have to say it, but he sources you've added aren't even close to what's required. You've got three sources which are Barnea & Co.s website (not independent, therefore useless for demonstrating notability) one affiliate site (which says nothing about Barnea & Co. and wouldn't be considered independent anyway) and an interview with the company's founder which contains only a brief, passing mention of the law firm. You need to provide extensive coverage that's actually about Barnea &Co, and that doesn't come from them. For a page on a similar topic that contains examples of appropriate sourcing, see Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom - that's the sort of referencing you need to aim for. Yunshui  22:32, 8 December 2013 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Oh and Juan, when you leave a message would you mind putting ~~~~ at the end of the message? It leaves a signature stating which account/who left the message. I had to look through the page history and label that it was unsigned and written by you and I don't think that Yunshui will be very happy if he has to do that every time you leave a message either. Remember to include ~~~~ Okay? Thaaanks. MM (Report findings) (Past espionage) 01:55, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

Request deleted articles be userfied

I posted a request at the Requests for Undeletion page, but it was archived without any response.

I would like to get the following articles userfied so I can transfer them to the Steam wiki where they can be of use:

BrentNewland (talk) 04:29, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

Usefying them here wouldn't serve much purpose, but I'll email you the lists. Since a list of titles doesn't involve any new creative expression, you won't be violating copyright if you reuse the information. Yunshui  20:15, 7 December 2013 (UTC)
Email sent. Yunshui  20:20, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

I apologise, but Wikipedia had an old email address. I've updated my account with my current address. Would you be so kind as to resend it? With the wiki markup, if possible. BrentNewland (talk) 21:45, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

No problem.  Done. Yunshui  08:25, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

NITHM

I'm sure you are right. I didn't autoblock, as I would normally do, since it seemed clear that these were students with no real agenda or intent to spam. As you say, an ill-advised and poorly prepared project. I wouldn't be surprised if their project leader had suggested that they all add the university's initials to their usernames too. I've not had many dealings with these projects, other than damage limitation on the articles (I had to remove all the project stuff from an FA in a hurry recently when it was picked for TFA). I'm happy to leave it to you unless you think there's something I need to do. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:12, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

If it works the way I've seen similar projects work before, they'll quietly disappear once their teacher realises he or she has made a bit of a pig's ear of things. It's a shame; I firmly believe that students are good for Wikipedia (they're trained to do research, they have access to huge amounts of specialist information, and they're usually fairly passionate about their field of study) but I've yet to see a professor outside the auspices of the Education Program who was able to prepare their students adequately. I'll keep an eye on the group, and hopefully will be able to get in touch with their professor and sort things out. Yunshui  10:35, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
Sigh... I only picked up those who had edited the university page. It's too easy for a prof to say "go and write a Wikipedia article", and when it's a COI assignment it's just asking for trouble. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:19, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
Fine with me Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:14, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
Okay, they're all unblocked now. I've left {{uw-username}} messages for those that needed it. It may well be that none of them ever edit again, but at least if they do come back they'll be better prepared. Yunshui  11:59, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

Tesco

No, go ahead. I'm aware that I have an itchy trigger finger, especially where spam user names are involved, so any of my actions that you think are unjustified, do what you think appropriate, I won't object Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:10, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

I'd have done exactly the same, don't worry - we often have to block with imperfect information, then retract the block when more details come to light. Definitely no blame attached. Yunshui  15:12, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

Nelson Mandela

Hey Yunshui, I am new to the world of Social Networking, but I know that I can use social networking to give an Online Memorial Service. As you may have known, Former President Nelson Mandela has died recently (December 5th). I have created a Google+ Community and I would like for you to review it and give me feedback about the website. Give me ideas to make the website better.

Thank you!

Sorry, but I don't "do" Google+, or social networking generally. If you want help with Wikipedia, I'm only too glad to lend a hand, but as far as other websites go, I'm afraid I'm the wrong person to ask. Yunshui  09:35, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

Your adoption page

Hi Yunshui, my name is Howicus. I'm considering becoming an adopter, and I like the design of User:Yunshui/Adoption/Adoption page. So, I thought I'd ask if you'd mind if I copied and modified it for my own adoption page. It's a nice format, and I'm not the sort for designing that kind of page myself. (I'll credit you somewhere for the design, if you like.) Howicus (Did I mess up?) 22:49, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

Help yourself, you're more than welcome. There are things I'd still like to add (some content creation exercises, for example), so it's still a work in progress, but by all means reuse it however you see fit. Yunshui  09:12, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

Ruthless Hasty Deletions made by you and your team

Hi,

Dear Yunshui,

It seems you never take pain to read the posts properly, and spped-jump to the conclusions with your own preconceived notions!

Please NOTE, I AM NOT INTERESTED IN CREATING ANY CLASS.

i AM JUST TRYING TO MAKE A COMPILED INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS.

But you people are so insensitive and ruthless that you do not even

Sensible editors always give breathing space for people who wish to help masses.

When I had put the please share posts under various subjects, DO YOU KNOW that I had created this article only after ensuring that people who are experts of respective subjects, already have easy to use study materials ready to upload??

AND FOR YOUR INFORMATION EACH OF THESE PERSON IS DOING THIS WITHOUT ANY EXPECTATION!

WE ARE NOT EVEN INTERESTED IN MAKING THE STUDENTS KNOW OUR NAMES!

WE JUST WANT THAT THEY GET STUDY MATERIALS EFFORTLESSLY!

This is because, the new textbooks of all subjects published by Mumbai Board have loads of errors and students get confused.

Even many guides created for monitory gains, carry similar mistakes.

As a result, students suffer.

So, I had created this article with a noble goal!

But it seems, Wikipedia has unfortunately appointed many insensitive editors like you!

If you had enough patience, you could have waited at least for the 7 days time mentioned earlier in the note placed before the article by someone else.....

But you are so impatient, that you did not even wait for 7 hours!

Is this the REAL WIKIPEDIA POLICY?

By the way,if the article is not reinstated gracefully, this post and all previous posts are heading towards press.

Regards,

Dr. Rekhaa Kale (talk) 09:31, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

Issues concerning the "FC Seoul vs. Suwon Samsung Bluewings Super Match" article

Hey friend, just wanted to start off by saying that I appreciate your hard work that you put behind this article to make it look great and informative. Adding the maps and the venues was a great idea. I would like to express a concern with your article though. I feel it is a bit improperly worded and does not match up to the grammar standard that most Wikipedia articles display. I just noticed it is locked but I wouldn't mind going in and doing a bit of cleaning. Also, if you know anyone else that could help out, that'd be awesome too.

Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Flaffl21 (talk • contribs) 08:41, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi Flaff121. I've never edited the Super Match article, except to protect it a year or two ago, so your compliments would be better directed elsewhere. The page protection expired in September 2012, so you can edit the article yourself to make corrections. As far as getting a hand in doing so goes, you could try asking at WikiProject Football or WikiProject Korea, both of which would have an interest in the page. Yunshui  08:47, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

Oh wow, silly mistake. New user here- seems like I was being a little over-zealous in my attempts to help out. Thank you though for redirecting me to where I need to go! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Flaffl21 (talk • contribs) 08:52, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

No problem; I just don't like taking the credit for other people's work. Given that you've identified that the major issue with the page is the grammar, you might also want to ask the Guild of Copyeditors for a hand. Yunshui  08:56, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

Could you delete this page? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinnal-_F(recombinant_follitropin_alfa) It contains material copied DIRECTLY from http://www.cinnagen.com/cinnagen-en/images/stories/PDF/cinnal-f.pdf.

Normally I express no objection or reservations about these requests from fellow admins, but in this case, take a look at their user page. I'd want them to declare whatever connections they have to that documentary film, or Mr. Carbee or his estate, first, and see if they'd be interested in editing more broadly than that. Daniel Case (talk) 18:03, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

They have already said they want to edit other articles. I've asked them for a firm commitment to WP:SOAP and WP:BESTCOI before unblocking; I'll ping you for your opinion when they reply. Yunshui  08:49, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi,

What do you mean : "this user has not been sufficiently warned"? It has been blocked 4 times and every times this IP comes back, it is to do vandalism. You can read its discussion page to see that been warned 9 times for that since Ocotber. What do you want more?

Pierre cb (talk) 17:48, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

The last warning above level one for this IP was a month ago. Since then, they have made only one edit, and received only one (lowest tier) warning. Because IPs tend to represent multiple users, we hardly ever block them if there is no evidence of recent (in the last few days or so) repeated vandalism - in this case, there is no such evidence (their last spate of edits was on November 19th, and they stopped editing today after being warned). In any case, it appears User:Spencer has overruled me on this, so you have your block. Yunshui  19:55, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

Why do the admins keep deleting my page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1JAY7 (talk • contribs) 11:19, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

Because it contains no indication that the subject is a suitable topic for inclusion in Wikipedia. Please see the technical reason for deletion and the guidelines for inclusion for musicians. If you feel that you meet these requirements, and can demonstrate this with reference to significant coverage in multiple, reliable, independent sources, then please create a draft of your proposed page and submit it to Articles for creation for review. I have protected the page title, so you will no longer be able to create the page in article space without admin assistance. Yunshui  11:23, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

John Galea

The topic of John Galea needs to be looked at again. I have noticed how other not as well known singers have existing pages. John Galea has just been featured in Music Week and has notable press already. How it is it fair that other Lesser None Singers have pages and you deleted John's Page after 2 years. Can we look at the page again with more skeleton information if its too detailed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dscottkm (talk • contribs) 21:36, 23 December 2013 (UTC)

Comments on unblock

While this "no moving around" of text was only to apply until the issues had been cleaned up if I read the agreement correctly. It continued use is disruptive and copyright issues are difficult to detect. I have requested that the user stop here [1] and wondering what your thoughts are. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) (if I write on your page reply on mine) 01:00, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

I dewatched Noodleki a while back, after I made a couple of blocks on his account that were somewhat over-zealous. I don't think I was taking a particularly balanced view and so have decided to recuse myself from taking any further admin actions against him, at least regarding his text moves. That said, I don't see that he's greatly improving the encyclopedia by shuffling other people's work around, and can't really understand his motivation; it does seem mildly disruptive. ANI might be overkill at this stage, but it would definitely be an option to consider if he persists; you might also want to think about whether an RFCU would be appropriate. Yunshui  09:33, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. As he does not attribute some of his moves what he is doing again is copyright infringement / plagiarism per [2]. All these large moves of text from all over the place are hard to follow and not particularly useful. Request for adoption

Hi Yunshui. Wish you a wonderful 2014!

I wasn't sure you were accepting new adoptions due to the following mismatch:

  1. According to the Adopt-a-user/Adopters page, it says you're currently accepting.
  2. However, your own Adoption page says you're not.

Please clarify, as I will try to contact another candidate mentor in the event of your unavailability. In that case, if you have any recommendations, please do let me know.

Colonel Warden

Hi, Yunshui. Given that the Colonel Warden account has been retired as noted in your unblock, wouldn't it be appropriate to remove its additional permissions (or transfer them to the primary account)? Kanguole 12:30, 21 December 2013 (UTC)

Good point. There's no real reason to remove permissions from a retired account, but it does make sense to grant them to his replacement account - so I have done so. Thanks for pointing that out. Yunshui  11:29, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

G7. Author requests deletion

"If requested in good faith and provided that the only substantial content to the page and to the associated talk page was added by its author."

Other "additional content contributions" were: a table (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Amy_Brooke&oldid=588802747&diff=prev) and a nonsense edit (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Amy_Brooke&diff=565168022&oldid=556566094). I'm requesting deletion after this modification to notability (people) criteria. Cavarrone 12:14, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

I'd consider the table to be a substantial content addition (though I agree with you about all that Russian nonsense), but fair enough. I'll delete it for you, with the proviso that I'm willing to recreate it if asked to by User:Rebecca1990. Yunshui  12:19, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
I was just going to asked why it was deleted. I believe AfD or PROD would have been a better action. It would give people time to possibly establish WP:GNG. Nymf (talk) 12:42, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
Personally, I'm inclined to agree - but Cavarrone is within his rights to request deletion under G7, and while our interpretation of what constitutes a "substantial" addition by another editor may differ, I saw no immediate reason not to grant his request under those terms. If you'd like the article restored for discussion, I will do so. Yunshui  12:45, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

Re: Visa vandal

Hi Yunshui! Thank you very much for your help. Do you think it will be possible to request a page protection for around 200 articles (there are 194 countries plus a few disputed regions with their independent visa policies)? If yes, that could indeed solve the problems I guess.--Twofortnights (talk) 14:42, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

Jeez, I didn't realise it was that many... There's no technical reason not to nominate hundreds of pages for protection, but you'd be hard-pressed to find an admin willing to slog through them all. There might be some sort of edit filter that could be applied, but it would be beyond my capabilities to code. Let's hope the blocks suffice to dissuade him from continuing; if not, I'll look at alternative solutions. Yunshui  14:45, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

Advice for Biology 345

Hi Yunshui. Thanks again for offering to be the Wikipedia Ambassador for my UBC Human Ecology course . This is an upper-level non-majors course with about 35 students; it meets once a week beginning on Tuesday Jan. 7.

Students in this class will undertake 3 projects, one of which will be to create or improve a Wikipedia page about sustainability in Vancouver (they'll work in pairs for this). At the first class I'll be introducing them to Wikipedia editing and having them create accounts. As a homework task I was thinking of having each of them work through the Training/For students activity and then come to your talk page and briefly introduce themselves (just one sentence). If this would be be a nuisance for you, I could have them come to my talk page instead, but I'd like them to know how to contact you. At the next class I'd then have them learn to edit their own user pages and begin evaluating possible topics and pages for their projects. (I have the pdf on Evaluating Wikipedia Articles for guidance.)

p.s. Should I refer to you as 'he' or 'she' (or 'neutrally as 'they' if you'd prefer)? Rosieredfield (talk) 03:42, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Rosie. I'd be more than happy meet students here, so don't worry about sending them my way. They're welcome to contact me on this page about absolutely anything Wikipedia-related that they need help with, or they can email me via the link in the sidebar menu (←). It would also be advisable to have them enrol themselves on the course page (have a look at how DoRD has reformatted your message above to see how to to link to it!) so that we have a central list of them all. You'll find the Special:MyCourses page (linked as "Courses" in your top menu bar) invaluable for keeping track of their edits, too.
One issue which they'll need to give serious consideration to if they want to create new articles is Wikipedia's basic inclusion requirements - that link provides a succinct explanation of the criteria they'll need to meet.
I look forward to hearing from them, and to working with you. Have a good class tomorrow - enjoy the snacks!

Hello

I'm Silviu, i had made a webbage for one of my customer and I've also intends to make a wikipage (Ludovic_Armin_Cora)...Guess what i've just created the wikipage and it goes deleted for a stupid reason, because it already exist at lac.turuga.ro...Before acting like a robot, make some human work and check to see that the page you mention was also created by myself and was a temporary page, till i move the whole project to ludovicarmincora.com. If i had make a mistake on editing a page, i should have at least the change to repair it, but no, here it goes automatically deleted by a human with robot brain... I'm really disappointed on being treated like this, when i didn't make anything wrong. I had a customer, i made him a website, that was hosted on my server, till the customer has purchased his own domain and now the customer asked me to make him a wikipage...where did i get wrong? Darenow82 (Talk)

(talk page stalker) Did the article say why he was of any importance? Did the article talk about him in a neutral way? Did the article have any sources that are trustable and independent of your article subject? Your answer to all three is probably no. Have a read of this page and this page and maybe you'll understand where you went wrong.

Y'all take care now. MM (Report findings) (Past espionage) 12:15, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

That would be the same ludovicarmincora.com that prominently states itself to be under copyright to Mr Cora, yes? In which case, you can't copy it here because Wikipedia cannot use text which has been copyrighted elsewhere, unless that text is freely and prominently licenced under CC-BY-SA or GFDL terms - which this isn't. The exact same reason for deletion applies - the "stupid reason", in this instance, is international copyright law. In any case, the text itself was deeply unsuitable for Wikipedia, being neither encyclopedia nor neutrally presented. Either write the text in a neutral tone of voice, using new wording and showing how Mr Cora meets Wikipedia's inclusion requirements for musicians, or accept that your conflict of interest makes you an unsuitable author for this article (which, by the way, it pretty clearly does) and request that someone else write it for you instead. Is this where I upload the images?

Hi there, I was unblocked under a few conditions and one of them was uploading images via Files for upload process. Upon visiting this page, I clicked 'submit a request' and it takes me here: [3]. Which link do I use to upload the image so I don't violate the agreement? Ashton 29 (talk) 05:30, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

I'd suggest using "I would like to upload an image without registering". Technically that isn't true, of course, but it provides the most options. Yunshui  08:55, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
Yes, it does. Does my restrictions regarding uploads mean I cannot upload anything here? Thank you! Ashton 29 (talk) 09:11, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
That's correct - you can't use the File Upload Wizard under your current restrictions. Yunshui  09:21, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
Okay and that goes for Wikipedia Commons too, right? Ashton 29 (talk) 09:27, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
Technically Commons is a separate project, so restrictions imposed here don't apply there. However I believe you're blocked on Commons anyway, so the question is currently moot. If in the future you were unblocked on Commons and uploaded images there that violated the terms of your unblock here, then I suspect you would end up being blocked on Wikipedia again, although a community discussion would probably take place first. My advice? Don't be the test case... Yunshui  09:31, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

Block Hammer

Hey can you look at the postings for this [[4]]. This has been an ongoing issue with an IP editor using multiple IPS, happy to dig up some history if you need it. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 09:33, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi

Hi Yunshui, you have been helping me to improve Wikipedia articles a lot. Thank you for that. However I need a bit help to improve Ekantipur.com this article. This is the most viewed news portal in Nepal. As somebody want to delete it I need your help to review it and make it safe. Thanks Ashishlohorung (talk) 12:50, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Ashishlohorung. I've taken a look at the page in question, and I have to say, I'm not sure that it actually meets WP:WEB. Whilst it gets used as a source quite regularly, I can't locate any coverage that's actually about the ekantipur.com site itself. Being the most-viewed news portal in a particular country isn't of itself sufficient reason for Wikipedia to have an article on the subject - we need reliable, independent sources that discuss ekantipur.com in some depth (rankings sites like Alexa aren't enough).
It's quite possible that there are sources in Nepali that I can't access/read which would help meet these requirements, and if so I encourage you to add them to the article. However, my recommendation at present would be to convert it into a redirect to Kantipur Publications, and add the small amount of content to that page instead. Yunshui  13:00, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Hi Yunshui, thanks a lot for providing me that suggestion. I really appreciate your help in this regards.Ashishlohorung (talk) 10:22, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

Thank you (I think)

for cleaning up after me at Toll Brothers. Given that the firm has "200 active lawsuits against it" they might be settling some of them up and the legal dept. might be looking for more work. Despite my original edit, this is probably one of those cases where "less is more." Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 15:45, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

No problem, what you did was very sensible. Just so's you know, I've raised it at WP:AN for discussion - technically we should probably block the IP, but I think it might be something worth talking over first. Yunshui  15:47, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
I am not sure about blocking ythe address, I think getting a warning such as this beats getting a writ-of-something-or-another because I suspect that the message is for real. I am not sure what the copyright issues are here, I thought that we could use logos, though the only one I;ve ever posted was for Save Outdoor Sculpture!, because someone had posted the wrong one, and they won't be sueing anyone in any case. But I also feel that alerting some folks the wikipedia food chain is a good idea. Carptrash (talk) 19:56, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

Ambassador?

Yunshui, I am running my neurobiology class again. Any chance you would like to be our ambassador? --MMBiology (talk) 21:12, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Dr.Mynlieff; I'm delighted to hear that you're running your course again! I would love to be your ambassador, but I'm also ambassadoring for two other fairly large classes this term - while I'd be happy to lend a hand, I'll say upfront that I'm afraid I won't be able to commit quite as much time as I did last year. I'd recommend getting one or two other online ambassadors on board as well, to ensure that the students get enough support - Biosthmors, who was a tremendous help last year, would be a good choice. That said, I'd greatly enjoy working with you again - let me know when the course page is up and I'll add myself to it. All the best, Yunshui  08:40, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
Even you can't devote as much time as last year, we would love to have you as an ambassador. Hopefully I will be a better resource for the students now that I have done it once. I have made a course page undergraduate neurobiology course that is fairly complete except for the list of topics. I am still working on that. Great idea to ask Biosthmors. I will do that as well. Xavier Lust Page

Hi Yunshui You deleted the page because of promorion but it's just me that i wanted to write something about a great great belgian designer and then you cut my page. Can you explain the difference with this page? https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippe_Starck

I'm just here to open something about an artist not to sell something I used the link to the editor od the furnitures just as references to the page as Wiki asked me to do...

And then it's promotion? I can't understand right now the way to open a page in this context???? There's already a page in french...

And i can't understand why you cut it off without telling anything? I'm also here to learn how open pages so i'm open to learn... so Help me please

Thanks

Actually a comparison with the Philippe Stark article (in English) illustrates a number of pertinent points. The Stark article, whilst by no means perfect, at least discusses Stark, rather than providing a two sentence career summary, a handful of promotional soundbites and a ridiculously long list of every single thing the man has ever made. It cites sources for the majority of its content, and contains material that will be of interest to readers. What you have created is a laundry list of products and a handful of out-of-context praise, not an encyclopedia entry. I don't doubt that Lust meets Wikipedia's inclusion requirements, and we probably should have an article about him - what you've produced, however, is not that article.
I would strongly suggest you scrap what you've done so far and start again from scratch. Begin by gathering sources - newspaper articles, design books, magazine content and so forth. Ignore anything from a blog or self-published book, and anything from Lust's own press team or website - you need significant coverage in multiple, independent, reliable sources. Once you have these sources, write a neutral article using only the content of these sources. Things to include: a biography (early life, career, important collborations); his working practices, influences and the characteristics of his work (but avoid anything that reads as promotion); his (major) awards (with sources). Things to avoid: direct quotes from sources (unless placed in specific context), comprehensive lists of works, non-neutral wording. Mention a few of his important designs, by all means, but restrict yourself to naming no more than the most influential handful; describe them, and cite sources to indicate their importance. You should also read through the biographies of living people policy and the biography style guidelines. Once you've put your article together, you can submit it for review at Articles for creation. More BIOL 345 students coming by soon

Hi Yunshui. There are about 25 students in BIOL 345 (students are still adding and dropping because it's the start of term). You've heard from 7, so there are about 18 yet to come and introduce themselves. They were asked to do this before the next class (Tuesday Jan. 14) so I'd expect most of them on Monday. Thanks! Rosieredfield (talk) 02:57, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

An IP editor from Mumbai has restored this page as an AfC draft. You blocked the editor who'd been making these, so just wanted to let you know. Cheers, Ansh666 06:55, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up. I've deleted the AFC, but left the IP unblocked for the time being; if it gets used again for the same purpose, I'll block it then. Yunshui  08:05, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
And they're back, as User:Kisna Jewellery. Same WT:AfC page. Maybe the relevant pages need to be salted, and I wouldn't want to bother SPI with a duck sighting. Ansh666 07:45, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
