Clerk reviews
Do you want a list of things for the committee to review or do you also want the clerks to look at the situation in detail and make recommendations? Thatcher131 00:25, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- I was thinking in terms of a list. If you are willing to provide some background and recommendations as well that would help too. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 17:03, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- May I ask clerks of what? Thanks in advance from a relatively new user. -Susanlesch (talk) 08:18, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks after too. -Susanlesch (talk) 00:20, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks again. -Susanlesch (talk) 04:52, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I had thought so. But I guess not. -Susanlesch (talk) 11:00, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
ArbCom
Please see this WP:AE discussion regarding an ArbCom in which you sat on the committee: WP:AE#Darwinek and breach of standard civility parole. Please be reassured that I will answer and all questions, to clarify the question brought up of my character in the matter, something which I insist on in coming to proper closure of the matter. - Thanks. I'm trying to be thorough to avoid a mess later. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 21:00, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
First of, let me apologize for my impatience. But how long before I can expect the email?↔NMajdan•talk 21:57, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- You should already have it. Your spam filter may have caught it, so you might want to check there. I will send another one in case it got lost. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 22:09, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
It was me alright. The site looks great! BTW, you'll probably need a semi-automated system to confirm Wikipedia users in Wikiback. - Mtmelendez (Talk) 02:02, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. Let me know if you have any talented bot writers in mind who would want to volunteer. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 04:17, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Wikback and User Privacy
Hi there, I did post some questions about the Wikbak forum to wiki-en-L, but I know you have been very busy so may not have seen them; in fact you've answered several already. Thanks for confirming that you will not use IP information collected at Wikbak for any purpose on Wikipedia. And I see that there are already a few WP-banned users registered and posting at Wikbak, so that question is answered as well. There was one other point I wanted to clarify: Most message boards include statements like not sharing IP addresses with third parties unless required by law, not selling the mailing list, explicitly stating whether or not one's email address will be visible to other users, etc. in either the privacy policy or as part of the registration agreement. I am hoping that is the case with Wikbak, and it's probably just an issue of working out the start-up kinks to include this somewhere on the forum. I'm also curious whether or not our email addresses will be accessible to the google-crawlers; a friend of mine recently had a problem with not having shielded that information when he changed platforms, and folks on his list started getting spammed.
No rush to respond, probably better to just post it somewhere in the forum, and once it's there I'll be signing up too. I think the forum setting will be much more effective in keeping track of conversations and building on ideas. It's a great idea. --Risker (talk) 03:51, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- I may add a more detailed privacy statement later. In general I share your concerns and sentiments. I have no intention of selling (or otherwise handing out) private email addresses or IPs. The email addresses are not available to crawlers (except for the "public email address" which you may optionally set in your profile), although there is always the possibility of a software bug or server misconfiguration leading to inadvertent disclosure. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 04:03, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, on my way to register now. Risker (talk) 04:12, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
I was rather dismissive of your forum at first, sorry. However, after considered thought, I think it may have a number of advantages. I'd also like to support your decision to allow banned editors to post there. Actually I wondered a while back the the answer to the problems we've had with privacy invasions on WikipediaReview was to set up a competitor, which allowed anti-wikipedia threads, and a wide permissiveness about discussion but was under sane humane management with personal intrusions and general nastiness being removed. If your forum can attract high-profile wikipedians and the more profound of our critics it will probably strangle off WR. Anyway, thanks for the attempt. Oh, and to confirm that it is me that has applied for an account.--Docg 11:42, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, Doc. As you may be aware I've been posting over at Wikipedia Review (something I have not done before and do not plan to continue) to make them aware of the WikBack and invite them over. I explained to them that doing so was a shameless effort to spam them and co-opt their movement, but they haven't banned me, I think because they'd realize that I'd love nothing more than to put on my user page that I've been banned by WR. I'm trying to adopt a hosting style that involves moving posts around to keep threads on topic, without the sense of heavy-handedness and censorship that occurs when posts are outright deleted. This is the internet and people are going to find a place to share their views if they want. If we deny them that place, they will post somewhere where we have no influence or control at all. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 20:52, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- Just a spamming suggestion, but you could post a daily "on wikback" to wikien1. This would simply list topics under discussion and encourage interested parties to come and join in. If that was done for a week or so, you'll drive some traffic your way.--Docg 21:29, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
MacLellan Crest
I have an email from the family and they are unhappy with your rendition of the crest because the warrior's head is supposed to be caucasian and there is not supposed to be an earring. Comments? The Uninvited Co., Inc. 03:42, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
I think the families unhappiness is a fraction compared with that experienced by Black Morrow, when their ancestor murdered him in such a cowardly way.Harrypotter (talk) 18:52, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Wikback
I signed up for wikback, using my old account name Jaranda, if you need any info about me getting approved. Thanks Secret account 21:35, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Really?
In your view this is not a provocative edit? I don't think it's helpful to imply that David's behavior was not disruptive. Christopher Parham (talk) 22:53, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
