"a campaign of state-sponsored discrimination" ?

Hi, TheDarkLordSeth. When you have time, could you control Talk:Imbros and Talk:Tenedos#"a campaign of state-sponsored discrimination" ? ? Is this expression is appropriate and encyclopedic for neutral encyclopedia ? Thank you. Takabeg (talk) 07:26, 27 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seems more like a POV edit. Yes, a lot of Greeks left the island due to government policies but there is nothing to say that those policies were made to discriminate Greeks. TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 09:27, 27 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. About geographical name change votes, I would like to let you know that I think travel guides are contraversial sources for common name use since they often prefer local names to English ones. (I am not writing that in your talk page and not in the vote page for now in order to keep the summary section concise) Filanca (talk) 17:10, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I actually addressed that point in the talk page. Couple of other European city names were given as examples and I showed decisively how the common English name rather than the local name is used in Lonely Planet guides(Florance/Firenze, Munich/München). Lonely Planet is quite reliable on that. TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 17:18, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page guidelines

About discussions, it seems you need to follow Wikipedia:TALKNEW#New_topics_and_headings_on_talk_pages in the 1955 Pogrom talkpage[[1]].Alexikoua (talk) 21:24, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What action of mine violates that? TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 21:25, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Never address other users in a headingAlexikoua (talk) 21:27, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The heading addresses your edits, not you personally. Please do not confuse the two next time. TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 21:30, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Wiki,

Please refer to the dispute over my editing changes to Edward J. Erickson - VIEWS. See link below.

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Edward.erickson&redirect=no

Some clown calling himself Darklordseth claims that he knows me personally. He does not. He keeps deleting the following phrase from the VIEWS part of the article:

", however, as a matter of fact his writing is limited to the Armenian rebellion and nowhere does Erickson address the genocide issue."

This is a factual phrase. I wrote it and it accurately describes my work. As a matter of accuracy regarding my "views", I would like the phrase included and I would like it to remain unaltered.

Can you assist me by verifiying my identity and then blocking anyone from changing the phrase? Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Edward J. Erickson Associate Professor of Military History Marine Corps Command & Staff College Quantico, Virginia 22134 work: 703 432-5482 edward.erickson@usmc.mil — Preceding unsigned comment added by Edward.erickson (talk • contribs) 00:06, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think Prof. Erickson would use the word "clown" to describe anyone. TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 15:09, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Misrepresentation

Why are you continuing to attack me despite me giving you every source from far and wide, even from the show ITSELF which counters the witnesses own account. If AC360 has doubts about this witness right after interviewing them and countering their statements with fact then nothing will make you see it.[2] From Mark Geragos the criminal defense attorney on AC360 for examination, "...this is a prosecutor's -- or should be a prosecutors' worst nightmare. There is so much fodder in there now for the defense to talk about, if he is indeed arrested, if Zimmerman is arrested, for them to play around with now, I can't even tell you." The credibility of this witness is discussed on its own show, it is absolutely acceptable to reference it as a source because the show it was the same source of the interview! ChrisGualtieri (talk) 06:00, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Let's not make stuff up, shall we? Your link doesn't even say what you say it says. In the show Mark Geragos and Marcia Clark are talking about how a witness testimonies can change a little each time they're interviewed. They're not saying the witness is unreliable or anything like that. So, your title works just fine because you're misrepresenting the sources. None of this is relevant to what the witness says as well. Why you're silent about John's statements is an other enigma... TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 06:07, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It is not made up and your comment doesn't make it so. They are on topic with this witness. I am not talking about John. I am talking about the AC360 interview. This is my concern. I have no obligation to explain every detail, it is there in the source and that is all that counts. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 12:03, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And your source doesn't say what claim it says. TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 17:10, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dispute Resolution IRC office hours.

Hello there. As you expressed interest in hearing updates to my research in the dispute resolution survey that was done a few months ago, I just wanted to let you know that I am hosting an IRC office hours session this coming Saturday, 28th July at 19:00 UTC (approximately 12 hours from now). Tenedos/Bozcaada

Dear Dark Lord, because I see you have commented on the Bozcaada, Tenedos page earlier, I thought you may want to add comments to the newest move request made by me. I really think there is a right answer and compiled the best evidence to help us make the decision here. Would like your comments on it in the Talk:Tenedos page because I think you made good comments earlier. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AbstractIllusions (talk • contribs) 00:52, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Consult

My advice, is simple: Ignore it. Have a Thick skin and Bite your tongue everytime you have the urge to counterattack. Always, always stay above the fray and focus on the substance at hand, not the personal elements that inevitablly creep into WP discussions. I like to say that getting personal in WP, unless it is praise, is always a no win situation. So just ignore it. If you are really being abused by another editor, the community will come to your defense. And, if for whatever reason, you feel another editor's behavior toward you is truly improper, take it to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents to make your case. Don't abuse this, make sure you really need to go there. But whatever you do, don't ever find yourself getting into a discussion where you are trading insults and other personal affronts with another editor. There is literally no upside to that. Remember you are not obligated to respond to uncivil behavior against you, but you are obligated to remain civil. The best way to do that is simply ignore those who are uncivil toward you. Thanks for asking, and I will always be willing to help if I can. --Mike Cline (talk) 02:38, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's what I was leaning on. I believe I have remained civil so far but I'll just ignore it, especially when it has nothing to with what we're discussing. I wanted to ask you about it, as you seemed active, not to use ANI or the other pages unnecessarily. Thank for the advice. I'll do my best to follow it. TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 03:04, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The community will come to your defense

Hi, My Lord. I just happened to read the words on your user page and wanted to tell you that I could put my signature below the same. Patience... What does the title of the section has to do with this, you may ask. Nothing, just when I came to write here I saw those words of Mr Cline, a user and admin I appreciate, and wanted to highlight them: The community will come to your defense. Lucky you, I myself have not yet witnessed that kind of action, well, almost ever, in the half a year that I am here. (Exceptions like some people on this page are exempted from this observation.) All the best and feel free to delete my uncalled for visit. --E4024 (talk) 20:37, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, the words of the community doesn't matter much on Wikipedia. Most people prefer to get rid of conflicts rather than resolve them. That have been the case for all the conflicts that I've been involved with. I do appreciate your words nonetheless. TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 03:02, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
