Lara Croft TGOL Isometric View

Regarding the Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light edits about it not being isometric. 3D can be isometric but if you just look up what isometric projection actually means, then you'll see that it's not the case with this game. The references cited are wrong. Just take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Graphical_projection_comparison.png and you'll see the difference between isometric 3D and normal perspective 3D. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.246.233.77 (talk) 15:32, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should be going by what the sources say. Every website calls the game a "isometric platform", even the game designers. Mike Allen 19:25, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you want the page about SWGemu deleted?

It's incredible what the SWGemu team have accomplished and a wiki page about their work should be allowed to remain on this site.

SWGemu

I understand what you are saying. To be honest I'm not fully familiar with the guidelines on what is needed to satisfy the requirements of a Wikipedia article. However, the SWGemu team have been mentioned by several credible organizations such as: Crunchgear, Examiner, and SlashGear.[1] [2] [3]

Hello. I noticed that you attempted to file a deletion discussion (on the article Cxbx) but did not complete the process. Please note that, when listing an article for deletion, a discussion page needs to be made for other users to discuss whether to keep or delete the article. This is typically done by following the steps listed here. Note that if you are editing as an unregistered user, you cannot create a discussion page. Please consider registering an account or asking another user to help you complete the process at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion. Thank you. Lands of Hope edit

You need to check the code for whatever bot you're using. It added the template twice. You also need to do more than just using a bot, and read both the article you are editing, and its talk page. It's rated by me as a start class: An article that is developing, but which is quite incomplete and, most notably, lacks adequate reliable sources. Not only that but you could see that it is under construction. Not only that, but it contains three reliable sources, one more than is needed to be notable. Minor note regarding GoldenEye 007

I noticed in the history that you removed the Wii Zapper from the list of controller schemes due to it being a simple case for the Remote. However, the game actually regards the Zapper quite distinctly from the Remote: the button mapping is different, the targeting cross hairs are adjusted to compensate for how one holds the Zapper, players reload by aiming the Zapper below the screen, and to be properly used must be chosen in the controller settings distinct from the Remote settings. I just wanted to give you a heads up about it because I re-added the Zapper to the controller list. If you still have any concerns, just let me know. Renaming of Race Driver: Grid/GRID

Please note that your recent renaming of the article Race Driver: Grid to Race Driver: GRID contravenes Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trademarks). Also, as far as I can tell, you did not use a "Move" to rename the article; a "Move" would have been a lot easier. I will leave it to you to sort this out. Half-Life 2, Episode One, Episode Two reverts

Hi, I noticed you reverted my edits to the Half-Life 2, Episode One, and Episode Two articles. From your summary, I gathered that you may have only wanted to undo my change of the infobox images, from box art to edited renders, so I redid all changes except the reversion to the images. I'm not sure box art is necessary, is there a page that is suitable for discussing the use of the new images instead? I could not find a policy that already covers infobox image usage, is there one? Thanks. --Pyroguy (talk) 02:24, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If, say, an obscure video-game gets a mention on one, or several websites that qualify as reliable sources, solely because the authors have contacted the website in question, would I be correct in dismissing such sources per WP:SPIP? What I sometimes find is one or two websites that have published a short blog-like entry on the subject, and I'm a bit unsure whether this counts as reliable coverage, because if the coverage is essentially just two or three lines, and then a cut and paste changelog/description from the author thrown in, does that count as coverage in reliable sources? As I see it, coverage in reliable sources means an actual full-length article, or mention in significant part of one. One last question: Am I right in assuming that WP:GAME applies if an editor returns after a debate, with a reliable source, but the article date shows that it was written after the debate took place, along with containing a mention that the authors contacted the site? The reason I'm asking is that often, I get into debates here with the members of various gaming communities who argue for including mention of things like fan-made remakes and patches on their respective games' articles, and I'd like to get some clarification on this particular subject before I run into this issue again, which I undoubtedly will. Importing pictures from Flickr to Commons

Hi,

I noticed you uploaded File:Edmund McMillen - Game Developers Conference 2010 - Day 2.jpg to Wikimedia Commons. Please make sure you upload the highest resolution available (a bot had to reupload it) and consider adding relevant categories to the image (you may create one if it does not exist).

Also, why did you tag the file as needing an OTRS permission? It is not needed if the pictures from the Flickr stream are genuine and free.

You may use this Toolserver tool which takes care of the upload part and helps you with the categorisation part.

Feel free to ask me any question you may have! Cheers, Jean-Fred (talk) 19:35, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How. HOW does getting rid of the headers make it look any good?

The headers broke up the sections, and allowed a person to jump to a certain section. MOS or not, the page doesn't look ANY good anymore, because everything is placed together, with no forms of telling the person what it's about. (Unless the person actually takes time to read the entire page, which isn't going to happen.

To get to the point: The sections were appropriate breakers to information, under the Gameplay header. All parts of gameplay, and getting rid of the headers would require a rewrite of the information. -Feildmaster (talk) 20:59, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In the way of editing 1100AD, the Manual of Style is made incorrectly as well. Because it has Subgroups. And so is this and this (controversy?)... Or maybe I am taking it incorrectly, and thinking that gameplay isn't supposed to have subgroups? But other groups can? ...
Speaking on deleting articles, why isn't this being discussed? Leo Steel... Maybe it's because they have the "Wikified" tag? So why couldn't 1100AD get the wikified tag, instead of the "Delete this now because we say so" tag? Because you can't see what you call valid sources? Because it's not like you can't look at a couple of a persons reviews to see if they are any good. No, they have to be "accredited" and "have specific guidelines" posted? Really? ... But to get back on topic.
I'll more than willingly let 1100AD get deleted until they get better coverage on it... As soon as they get it, I'll bring it back; because I love the game. But even though I believe wikipedia should include more than just what's "a hit" in the news industry, I can't do anything about it since I'm too late in joining the "Wiki Craze," and can't bring rules into it since it's so late in the game.
Also, I am sorry for venting on you. Too many annoying things happening at once. -Feildmaster (talk) 23:52, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Ambassador Program is looking for new Online Ambassadors

Hi! I noticed your activity as a Good Article reviewer, and wanted to let you know about the Wikipedia Ambassador Program, and specifically the role of Online Ambassador. We're looking for friendly Wikipedians who are good at reviewing articles and giving feedback to serve as mentors for students who are assigned to write for Wikipedia in their classes.

If you're interested, I encourage you to take a look at the Online Ambassador guidelines; the "mentorship process" describes roughly what will be expected of mentors in the coming term. If that's something you want to do, please apply!

You can find instructions for applying at WP:ONLINE. The main things we're looking for in Online Ambassadors are friendliness, regular activity (since mentorship is a commitment that spans several months), and the ability to give detailed, substantive feedback on articles (both short new articles, and longer, more mature ones).

I hope to hear from you soon.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 02:24, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You just removed the link in the X-Wing Alliance Article linking to the XWA and XvT Wiki. I see why you interprete the external link to be invalid in this position, yet this document could also be interpreted in a different, less strict way. As the title suggests, it's about links normally to be avoided. Articles about games are not normal as they're not really important subjects of public discussion. As the Wiki I want to link provides unique reference for players and newbies of the game, displaying actual and much more information than the moby games (which isn't under the control of LucasArts either) link, I suggest to keep it! Don't be too harsh on that one. Or then be consistent, you'd have to delete all external links for that game. PS: I personally guarantee for the stability of that wiki. Hi. The forum I cited is the ShootForTheEdit forum. ShootForTheEdit is Michael Bay's official site, and that forum is where the production people post, sometimes even Bay himself. AFAIK, it is not known what position Nelson holds in the production team, but he is pretty knowledgeable, and has proven to be certainly more reliable than Bay. Generalizing forums to be unreliable is like saying Twitter is unreliable, even if it was the director himself tweeting. --uKER (talk) 14:14, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Message from the ITF leader.

This is the leader of the ITF. I have noticed a degree of inactivity during my absence, and we wish that you can help change this to help future articles on independent video games. Thank you, Takeo 22:42, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Characters of Assassin's Creed assessed as High-Importance?

Hi,

I jumped when I saw that on the assessment request page, you gave Characters of Assassin's Creed a High-Importance rating. So I checked the article's talk page, and there it is still rated Low. So I assume you just made a typo, and changed the text. Just wanted to let you know in case there was something other than a typo behind it. -- Nczempin (talk) 21:06, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yuji Horii

I have started a discussion about the change at WT:VG/A#Yuji Horii's importance because what you say goes directly against the assesement guidelines for video games.Jinnai 22:13, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming Dota (genre)

Hey, I've made a new motion to rename Dota (genre) to Action RTS right here. Since you previously stated your opinion on this matter, would you be able to again, in order to get a consensus on the subject? DarthBotto talk•cont 23:16, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-notable challenge.

Theingamer.com is well-established and credible source for game content and reviews. Why have you decided to challenge it as "not-notable" in pages containing its reviews (Metro 2033, Monday Night Combat)? What would make it more "notable"? I believe your assessment was unfairly made and deserves re-thinking. Your edits should not have been made. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skorp333 (talk • contribs) 21:32, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of MK roster picture

Why did you remove it? I'm fine with it now but I don't see why it should be. Sincerely Subzerosmokerain (talk) 17:47, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

So maybe I need to find a more full roster picture? Basically the entire cast, plus the DLC tabs pointed out? I can try to find one, but not without difficulty. Just give me tthe say so, and i'll start the search. Sincerely Subzerosmokerain (talk) 00:33, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Video game console generations

Hey, I came to apologize if my comments rubbed you the wrong way. I have too much respect for my fellow VG editors to ever do that intentionally. And given your track record of work here, I consider you my fellow VG editor even if we've rarely interacted. I only meant to voice an opinion that I felt would go unheard in the sense that no real action would come from it regardless of what was said—something PresN pointed out in the discussion.

That being said, I still believe in my opinion. (Although I'll readily admit the possibility that it might not the best treatment.) I think it is still inline with all the applicable policies and guidelines, including WP:V. If you disagree, that's perfectly ok. You are a competent editor and can draw your own conclusions just like me. But I hope there is no bad blood and that we can amicably agree to disagree. Fruit Ninja icon

What about just having one icon (iOS) to minimise the number. I think the article still needs an icon to allow users to recognise the game when downloading it from App Store, Android Market, etc as the logo in the infobox is not similar to the icon that appears in the download centers.

MK

I received your note re: paragraphs. No problem: nothing I was attached to. I also note you are "retiring". That seems like a shame. Wikipedia has hundreds of less than desirable editors, but few solid contributors. I hope you will come back at some point in the future. Hi. When you recently edited Sine Mora, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hungarian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
