Eastman, Georgia and Dodge County High School
I did restore some info back into Eastman, Georgia and I did put a real short history section on Dodge County High School and added a reference and added some info back onto the high school template. :) --Mjrmtg (talk) 13:27, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
- Indented line Thanks so much!! Hopefully, I'll get better and editing and more comfortable with adding/making pages. The events from the other day just really made my experience with Wikipedia editing, but it'll get better. Thanks again for doing that! :] Tamer of hope (talk) 14:53, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:2009RockEagle4-HCampCounselors.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:2009RockEagle4-HCampCounselors.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 17:35, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
- Hey thanks for pointing that out and not deleting it on the spot. I sent an email to the actual photographer. A friend of mine that had researched a lot of the stuff on the article page, Georgia 4-H, sent me the picture. He's actually inside of it and didn't give me many sources to work with. I was surprised that the photographers actual information was in the meta data. I'm waiting on his reply whether or not he gave me actual permission to use his photograph. But my friend bought the picture so shouldn't he have some credit? I'm not 100% sure on that. Hopefully this can be worked out before a deletion. Please, just hold on a few days until I get my response. Thanks for being a nice admin, the last one that pointed out my errors deleted all of my work, 2/0. Fair use rationale for File:Black4-Hofficers.JPG
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Black4-Hofficers.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? feydey (talk) 23:53, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Even though you have added a source and licence there is no evidence the copyright holder has released the image under that licence. You need to have them follow the procedure in WP:PERMISSION. ww2censor (talk) 15:57, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
- I just received permission from the photographer and I emailed what he sent me to permissions-en[at]wikipedia...How much sooner will the tag be cleared from this image? Tamer of hope (talk) 01:14, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Carroll County School District (Georgia), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.carrollcountyschools.com. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:50, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
- LOL BOT - I've been to the webpage and do not see the substantial copy that you talk about. The article Carroll County School District is a list of the schools, what is the "substantial copy" in doing a list? Power down BOT. --Mjrmtg (talk) 18:54, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
- I really don't see how it picked that up. Of course the website has schools but it's still a list. There's no place on that school district website for me to even copy a list like that anyway. These bots are insane.Tamer of hope (talk) 18:59, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
These statements: "All of the sports teams have a compromised their differences for Trion High School, especially the football team." and "These differences have led to many disputes on and off the field for well over fifty years, and it doesn't look like there will be an end any time soon." Those statements are opinion-based, and express a non-neutral POV. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 02:31, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
- I saw that after I had posted my comment. :/ I'm sorry for what I said if it sounded rude. I was just confused. I understand what you mean now. I apologize for my actions towards you and fully understand your edit. I was questioning the same things when I moved that information to that article. Tamer of hope (talk) 03:16, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
I hope you understand my flurry of changes on this page and the City Schools of Decatur page. Basically, the article you created was better, but duplicated another article with the same name. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. --Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 20:24, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, I noticed that after I had created the page. I was trying to figure out what I should do because of the two pages being the same. I was going by a list of making the pages, the older link wasn't on that list. So I had no idea. Thanks for making the changes for the page though! Tamer of hope (talk) 20:35, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

School Districts
You might want to check the school district pages you created. Habersham County School District, for example, in one of the references has the ref from Dodge County. I first noticed it on the Cook County School District article and I corrected it there. --Mjrmtg (talk) 15:14, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

It happened again...
Jones County School District seemed to already be covered here. I also moved it to Jones County School System, as that appears to be what they call themselves. By the way, why do you not use {{Infobox school district}}? --Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 15:43, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
- Ugh. Thanks for correcting that. I'm just going down this list and making the school district pages. You know, I've thought about using the school district box before but it makes the address look strange and to where I can't use the country flag code. Yeah, I know it's for the "actual" school district pages....but I've already gone through half of them. So why make a change to them now? I could, I guess. Thanks for moving the page to where it needed to be. I didn't see it before. Tamer of hope (talk) 17:04, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Georgia 4-H
I reviewed the article and compared it to the Class and Importance level in the WP:AG Project. Notice that there are very few references in the article. This will keep the Class rating down to a Start class. When you have a balanced number of references to the amount of material you are covering, the Class rating may improve. In regards to Importance, this is how it relates to Agriculture globally. The Georgia 4-H is just one of many organizations in Georgia and 4-H and does not influence global Agriculture much if at all. Therefore the Importance rating of this article as it relates to to the WP:AG project will likely always be Low. Please understand, this is not a reflection of the material but how it relates to the WP:AG project. I hope that helps.
I'll monitor this article for a few weeks to see if I can answer any questions. BlindEagletalk~contribs 18:23, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know you looked at it again. Whenever I find more sources I will add them in. Are there any other WikiProjects it could possibly be listed under? Tamer of hope (talk) 18:28, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Your welcome. Glad to help. However, in regards to other project, I wouldn't have a clue. Certainly, I do not know them all. Agriculture, to me, makes the most sense with 4-H. However, you may look at the craft related articles. BlindEagletalk~contribs 13:16, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
- Oh. I found one that it could possibly be listed under, WikiProject Organizations. I never know how to accurately judge an article on that scale. So I guessed, you can fix it though. 4-H offers more things other than Agriculture. Ag is just at the core and foundation of 4-H. :] Tamer of hope (talk) 14:42, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
- I looked at the Importance rating at the WP:Org page and it appears the article reflects the definition appropriately. The Class rating is essentially the same across all projects. So, Start rating is correct. Good luck BlindEagletalk~contribs 16:21, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Counties
I know you've been removing education sections from county pages and putting them on the county seat's article, which I like. But, what do you think of leaving a link on the counties page to the education section on the city. For example: on the Oconee County, Georgia page, placing the following:
==Education==
{{Main|Watkinsville#Education}}
--Mjrmtg (talk) 15:51, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, you can add it. I didn't think about it. I've only ran across maybe three counties that had education on their page and the city....and I froze (Uhhh, I dunno what to do..where to put it..etc) haha. If I run across anymore like that I will definitely remember to do that. Instead of removing the whole section. Tamer of hope (talk) 15:57, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

Schools in Tift County
If you can fix the pages that currently are going to Schools in Tift County to the correct link Tift County School District, see if you can get a request to delete the page Schools in Tift County as it will no longer be needed.
- I went through all of the pages that were linked to Schools in Tift County. There were three pages that I cited for deletion. The pages were all redirect pages and one was a category page that didn't serve a purpose. Hopefully, it will all be cleaned out soon...largest clean up section I've done on here so far. Speedy deletion nomination of Schools in Tift County
A tag has been placed on Schools in Tift County requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. J.T. Reddick School
I noticed we have a J. T. Reddick Elementary School page and a J. T. Reddick Middle School page. The website http://www.tiftschools.com/reddick/ still says Elementary School. Do you think we need to articles like there is currently? --Mjrmtg (talk) 20:01, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well the article that you found a reference for on the Tift County School District page says that the school will now house middle school. So my best guess is to turn the "elementary" one as a page to show it's history. To say that it's closed and now offers classes to middle school students. I'm not sure how to handle it. Maybe someone involved with Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools? Tamer of hope (talk) 00:00, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
- Technically, it isn't closed. I guess we could keep the elementary school page and list it as the school's previous function was to teach grades 4-6. --Mjrmtg (talk) 00:10, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
- That will work until other sources are found or people from that area update the page. Tamer of hope (talk) 00:11, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Columns for references
I don't know what browser you're using but the change you made to Trichotillomania doesn't make any difference on any browser that I have tried. The {{Reflist}} template has a parameter for number of columns, so there's no point in removing the parameter and then wrapping it with {{Col-list}}, as far as I can see. --RexxS (talk) 13:39, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hey RexxS, I'm sorry about the edit. I use Google Chrome and Safari to do a lot of my editing and the {{Columns-list}} template works in every browser that I've put it in. I've never seen the {{Reflist}} column thing work except when you changed it back to that and I then went to open it in Firefox. I guess for future edits I will incorporate both templates to make sure it works across every platform. I've seen some crazy code made just for Firefox with columns and it only works for FF. I'll try to keep stuff more universally accepted and friendly when I code more. Thanks for pointing this out to me though! Tamer_of_Hope talk 14:14, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hi ToH, I still don't think the wrapper does anything. Here's the current HTML output from your {{columns-list|2|{{Reflist|2}}}}:
- <div style="-moz-column-count: 2;">
- <div class="references-small references-column-count references-column-count-2" style="-moz-column-count: 2;">
- while the simpler {{Reflist|2}} gives:
- <div class="references-small references-column-count references-column-count-2" style="-moz-column-count: 2;">
- I can't see any difference in any browser I've tried. The documentation for {{Columns-list}} tells us it is based on {{reflist}} and only works with FF/Gecko and Safari 3. Have you found a browser where {{columns-list|2|{{Reflist|2}}}} works and {{Reflist|2}} doesn't? --RexxS (talk) 18:36, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hi ToH, I still don't think the wrapper does anything. Here's the current HTML output from your {{columns-list|2|{{Reflist|2}}}}:
- Oh, sorry I feel stupid now. According to this article, Template:Reflist/Safari testcase that in Safari and Google Chrome there is a bug with the browser not being able to support the multicolumn feature. So, I've been editing pages all wrong because I couldn't see this difference. Ughhh..I just won't edit reference columns anymore. I don't want to delete anyone else's work. But to answer your question. On Google Chrome (5.0.375.99) and Safari (version 5.0 (5533.16)) the two things you pointed out that I did after you corrected my mistake worked for me on those two browsers. On those browsers when it was just the {{Reflist}} added it would not show the columns. They would only appear if I used {{columns-list}}. I know it sounds strange but it worked. :/ Tamer_of_Hope talk 03:42, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
- I wouldn't worry too much about it, anyway. From what I read, multiple columns are to be supported in CSS3. So as browsers evolve to adopt the newer specifications, the problem/bugs will eventually disappear. --RexxS (talk) 14:13, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks so much for pointing that out to me. I'll just use the {{reflist}} thing with the number inside from now on. Hopefully, Safari and Google Chrome will get their webkits fixed. They will eventually but hopefully sooner than later. Thanks again! Tamer_of_Hope talk 15:57, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
2010 Zucchetti Kos Tennis Cup – Doubles
In case of 2010 Zucchetti Kos Tennis Cup – Doubles. Perhaps you know a lot about articles on Wikipedia, but you're knowing nothing about articles about tennis. Please, look for articles about doubles' rivalisation in other tournaments (for example here: 2010 Farmers Classic – Doubles - current tournament or here: 2010 Serbia Open – Doubles - finished tournament). The template is always the same. Here is only and exclusively doubles draw (and informations about defenders of championship title). You're the first person which it doesn't suit. So if you must criticize something, at first check exactly what. Kisses. PL Alvarez (Talk) 15:17, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
- Haha ok. The pages just looked really blank and lacked many sources. I put the {{expand}} thing on pages that had maybe one sentence in the introduction. It could use some more description. Also, a lot of those pages need the appropriate WikiProject Banners to go on them, they're blank. You can put {{WikiProject Tennis}}, {{WikiProject Sports}}, and whatever country the match is held in. I know there are hundreds of tennis articles out there that lack this. I went through about 140+ the other day.... O_o;; You upset me when you deleted what I put on your page and it was kind of annoying you kept removing everything I put without asking me why I put it there to begin with. Discussion invitation
Hi Tamer of hope, I would like to invite you to a discussion on setting up good guidelines for tennis player notability. Please feel free to give comments and suggestions there. Thank you. Arteyu ? Blame it on me ! 09:51, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
Hello. Per your request, I reviewed this article. There has been a significant amount of pros added to the article without appropriate references. Avoid usnig words that imply opinions. Report only facts and back them up with references. This is holding the class rating down to a C-class. Thank you for asking me to review your article. I will keep this article on my watchlist for a while if you would like more input. Regards, BlindEagletalk~contribs 14:38, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for reviewing it again. I know there are sections on there that still need a lot of work. I know it can be a really good article if there were more contributors to it. :D Tamer_of_Hope talk 15:40, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
- You are welcome. I went ahead and edited the first paragraph of the body to give some idea of the extraordinary amount of opinionated statements that are in this article. Essentially, I chopped the paragraph down to two sentences that need references. This knid of language is not necessary and rarely verifiable. If you disagree, feel free to revert the changes. File permission problem with File:CloverleafCampersRockEagle4-HCamp.jpeg
Thanks for uploading File:CloverleafCampersRockEagle4-HCamp.jpeg.
If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 15:24, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hey thanks for doing your job. You can go ahead and delete the picture. I hate fighting Wikipedia with copyright laws. I don't feel the energy to get the person to write a fancy email to me so I can use their picture when they sent it to me to be uploaded. I have found out the hard way that it is better to just don't upload anything and wait for someone else to do it. Why? Because they will get the fire before you, yourself, the uploader, does. Bleh, oh well. It's just one thing that drives me crazy about Wikipedia. So, you have my [full] permission to delete it but that doesn't mean you will do it. Because you don't have permission from the actual copyright holder to delete the picture that they gave me permission to upload so in the loophole it's going to be stuck until the seven days is over. Oh well, time slowly ticks by. Again, thanks for reminding me about how I dislike media files on Wikipedia. :] Tamer_of_Hope talk 03:07, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

New Years Message for WikiProject United States
With the first of what I hope will be monthly newsletters I again want to welcome you to the project and hope that as we all work together through the year we can expand the project, create missing articles and generally improve the pedia thought mutual cooperation and support. Now that we have a project and a solid pool of willing members I wanted to strike while the iron is hot and solicite help in doing a few things that I believe is a good next step in solidifiing the project. I have outlined a few suggestions where you can help with on the projects talk page. This includes but is not limited too updating Portal:United States, assessing the remaining US related articles that haven't been assessed, eliminating the Unrefernced BLP's and others. If you have other suggestions or are interested in doing other things feel free. I just wanted to offer a few suggestions were additional help is needed. Clay County School District
I noticed Clay County does not have a high school. Do you want to add a note saying what school high school aged students go to that reside in Clay County? I'm pretty sure they go to the Randolph-Clay High School in Randolph County. I'm also guessing since there is a Randolph-Clay Middle School that it serves part of Clay County, but just a guess. --Mjrmtg (talk) 14:09, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
- OOooohh. At first when I read what you said I was confused until I went to go look at the counties. Yeah, I agree with what you said it is probably sure. I have a friend thru 4-H that went to school in Randolph County. I'll ask her about the Clay County high school students, it makes sense that they go to Clay County for high school. If you want to add a note and a change or two you can go for it. Thanks for asking though! :] Tamer_of_Hope talk 20:44, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

newsletter parameter in {{Infobox school}}
I had to revert the addition of the newsletter parameter you added in the documentation for {{Infobox school}}
. As far as I can tell, the template does not currently support this. Therefore having it in the documentation would be misleading to other editors.
If you think this is a parameter that should be added to the template, please start a discussion at the template talk page Template talk:Infobox school, explaining why you think this would be worth having. If the template is changed to add this field, then by all means, please go back and add the parameter to the documentation! The ideal is that the documentation should always stay 'in sync' with the template itself. Thanks! --Arg342 (talk) 17:38, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sorry about adding that part. I did not think about it at all when I changed it. Thanks for letting me know though. I have edited infoboxes before and thought that editing in the description box would be the same as the actual code generated. Tamer_of_Hope talk 18:49, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Crawford County, Georgia
Hi. I know you did a lot of work on education systems in Georgia. The listing in Crawford County, Georgia points to a non-existant section of their unincoporated city. Do the students in Crawford County perhaps attend schools in another county? --Mjrmtg (talk) 14:43, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- When I was creating the school district pages, I would put information about the school district on the county page and I think the city page it was based in. The school information is posted on the Roberta, Georgia page. I don't understand your question really. I know that the Georgia Board of Education updated their website, so a lot of the links I had for every page going there are dead and I have to put the new links back. Coordinator sought for the US National Archives WikiProject
Greetings, WikiProject US National Archives member!
We are seeking a coordinator to help reboot the project and work on new initiatives! The role is modeled after other Wikiproject coordinators, like the WikiProject Military History coordinators. The coordinator will work with the Wikipedian in Residence to organize and increase participation in the WikiProject, with the goal that the WikiProject is an active space for collaboration maintained by and for the Wikipedia editors, rather than the National Archives.
Please see the full information at Wikipedia:GLAM/NARA/Coordinator and contact me is you have any questions. Feel free to pass this note along to any interested parties. Thanks! Dominic·t 21:07, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

New deal for page patrollers
Hi Tamer of hope,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

2019 US Banknote Contest
US Banknote Contest | ||
---|---|---|
November-December 2019 | ||
There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons. In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate. If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here |
