Driverless car
I rolled back your recent edits, as I think you may have crossed the line into original research. Citing accident rates and then asserting that driverless vehicles may affect them or may alter liability is, I think, synthesis. What we need are reliable sources that support those assertions directly. I also note that on the talk page you refer to your own work--it would be a great help if you have expertise in this area, but we really much abide by WP's policies and guidelines. Please accept my apologies in advance if I have misunderstood your actions. --Nuujinn (talk) 01:15, 13 January 2011 (UTC) I'm confused. The social Impact section was marked as disputed neutrality. It had an unreferenced number of fatalities. I tried to improve it by providing better statistics with three references. The previous statement was that driverless cars could save 41,000 lives per year. I corrected the number and toned down this prediction to "could greatly reduce". Charles Gillingham had request information on liability. I supplied and summarized a reference to liability. If you want to dump the Social Impact section, that is your call. Why did you also delete
- reference to an open source Vehicle Control system from NIST
- reference to a robot simulation package
- reference to a private company [with which I have no afiliation]
- reference to a hobbyist group
? I was planning to correct the sections on Navigation and Motion Planning, but won't if you're just going to rip them out. I've taught this stuff and worked on the DARPA Grand Challege and Urban Challenge. I'd like to tell you how it was done. Anyone want to hear? ---- Tyler Folsom
