A big problem again
Hello @Sir Sputnik, and thank you for your action against vandals, especially those with some Romanian football players. But the vandal is back again and again, now he is called Finngamer21, just look at Alex Stan and Dragoș Albu, besides that the edits are incomplete, he start insulting again. Thank you DNT (talk) 20:10, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
- Sir Sputnik, where did Finngamer21 make legal threats? Robby.is.on (talk) 20:26, 15 September 2024 (UTC)

- @Sir Sputnik and @Robby.is.on, sorry for bothering you again, but the vandal is back again, again he insult others, just take a look at Octavian Popescu page and Omar El Sawy, but he is editing on multiple ip like 5.14.128.113 or 2A02:A58:82B0:F600:F4B6:5A0D:9D5C:9951 or 2A02:2F05:1211:1300:24A2:222F:9A50:9D85. So is a chance to prevent this kind of thing, because he is very rude and destroy others work. Thank you and have a good day. DNT (talk) 06:11, 9 October 2024 (UTC)

- @Robby.is.onHe change the ip on several times, so how can I report him ?Thank you DNT (talk) 17:12, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
- Given that the person behind all of this is blocked, any edits they make may be reverted per WP:BLOCKREVERT and without regard to the 3-revert rule. If they're particularly targeting a certain page, you can make a request for page protection at WP:RPP. They're sticking to the same IP or their edit summaries cross the line from just insults to grossly offensive, report them to WP:AIV. Those two cases aside, your best bet is to just revert and ignore them. Sir Sputnik (talk) 21:25, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you @Sir Sputnik for your advice. DNT (talk) 21:41, 9 October 2024 (UTC)

News and updates for administrators from the past month (September 2024).

The first trial election will take place in October 2024, with candidate sign-up from October 8 to 14, a discussion phase from October 22 to 24, and SecurePoll voting from October 25 to 31. - The arbitration case Historical elections has been closed.
- An arbitration case regarding Backlash to diversity and inclusion has been opened.
- Editors are invited to nominate themselves to serve on the 2024 Arbitration Committee Electoral Commission until 23:59 October 8, 2024 (UTC).

Please help to lock a page
Hi,
Here, I need to go straight to point about this matter. So I found out that you helped restored a revision of this page: 2003 Phnom Penh riots from a vandalized edit by an anonymous contributor which took place in June. And the thing is Today I have noticed that the same vandalized edit occurred again, with an exact context like the last time, and it was likely the doing of the same person just with a different IP address this time round. Though I’m yet to create a proper Wikipedia account myself as a contributor, , I do tried to restored the page back to before this latest vandalism, however in this case, I would like to ask if you could help with locking the page for a period of time, since you are part of the Wikipedia administration and used to do us a favor by restoring the page to where the context were properly sourced and confirmed for their reliability.
I hope you can take my request into the consideration. Thanks. 36.37.219.63 (talk) 11:37, 10 October 2024 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a research
Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
WMF Research Team

Hi, I have noticed that after you revert the edits of one of their socks, there is an often an IP that restores the edits, for example on the articles Sovereign state, Succession of states, and Russian nationalism. Mellk (talk) 19:39, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Mellk: Thanks for the heads up. If it becomes a recurring problem on any given article, your best bet is to report to WP:RPP. Page protection tends to be a more effective tool for dealing with WP:LOUTSOCKing. Sir Sputnik (talk) 23:23, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, I will try requesting page protection in future. Mellk (talk) 04:23, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Hey mate, I don't know wikipedia at all. I just wanted to start talking about assistant managers in football, and give poeple their flowers. I started talking about one I love because I am a huge Liverpool fan and he helped us a lot in 2005, so he was the first one I wanted to talk about, and improve his wikipedia. But after the talk page about me in WikiFootball or whatever and the constant harrassment and reverting I just want to leave and not come back. Can that talk discussion mentioning me be deleted please? It's giving me anxiety I just want to leave thanks. I won't do any more edits. I just wanted to contribute to the community sorry — Preceding unsigned comment added by Glaivebladee (talk • contribs) 20:15, 27 October 2024 (UTC)

Leicester City
Hey, since you protected Leicester City F.C. just after the last unsourced edit, could you please undo that, because as of right now, the infobox has wrong information about the current manager of the club. Thanks, Vasil3fonov (talk) 12:32, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Vasil3fonov: You can make the change yourself now. I had inadvertently set the protection level quite a bit higher than intended. Sorry for the mixup. Sir Sputnik (talk) 16:50, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- No worries! It appears somebody has already beat me to it, so it's all good. Vasil3fonov (talk) 18:28, 29 November 2024 (UTC)

Interface administrator changes
- Following an RFC, the policy on restoration of adminship has been updated. All former administrators may now only regain the tools following a request at the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard within 5 years of their most recent admin action. Previously this applied only to administrators deysopped for inactivity.
- Following a request for comment, a new speedy deletion criterion, T5, has been enacted. This applies to template subpages that are no longer used.
- Technical volunteers can now register for the 2025 Wikimedia Hackathon, which will take place in Istanbul, Turkey. Application for travel and accommodation scholarships is open from November 12 to December 10, 2024.
- The arbitration case Yasuke (formerly titled Backlash to diversity and inclusion) has been closed.
- An arbitration case titled Palestine-Israel articles 5 has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case will close on 14 December.
