Speedy deletion contested: Raj Roy

Hi Pmussler, thaks for your time. This page should not meet deletion criteria because this celebrity 'Raj Roy' is mentioned in more than a couple of pages in Wikipedia. Example- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MTV_Roadies

Apart from this, i am quite new in contribution to wikipedia (although done a bit of editing before), so not really familiar with formatting and editing, but learning it and will catch up pretty soon. One such thing i would like to be helped out is in adding reference format to this page. It is requested that moderators edit the references correctly in this page as well as i be granted some time to learn editing and formatting which i will do on my own as soon as possible. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rockstarkaransingh (talk • contribs) 19:02, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please be careful with speedy deletions, and please use edit summaries

An article that you tagged as CSD A1, Munchie Strikes Back, did not meet that criterion, and when it was brought to AfD, it was unanimously voted to be notable enough for an article. Please read or re-read our policy page Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, because wrong speedy tags cause unnecessary effort for all involved editors, and unnecessary pain for the article creators. Please also use edit summaries, especially for such important edits as requests for deletion. I recommend setting the automatic reminder, as described in Help:Edit summary. — Sebastian 05:50, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD

Pleased to see you new page patrolling but re Rise of the Valheru, please note: this was a clear speedy candidate - {{db-inc}} would have got rid of it. If you cannot see a good speedy criterion, always try {{prod}} first. If the prod tag gets removed, go to AfD which requires three edits - see these instructions. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:35, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that that was a clear speedy candidate, but in light of my above message, I would maintain that it is much better to be on the safe side. (Unless of course, an article really harms Wikipedia - such as an attack page.) Pmussler: I also noticed that that edit still had no edit summary, and I have to reiterate my request that you write edit summaries. — Sebastian 21:31, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

More importantly, the edit was {{Afd|Not notable}} rather than {{subst:Afd}} and Pmussler had not done the other two steps of an AfD nomination. If the AfD had been raised properly, I would not have touched the article. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 08:29, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

G7 speedy request

Hi Pmussler. As a reviewing admin, I found your speedy request at Nokia 5330. Since you aren't the original page author, this doesn't qualify for G7 speedy deletion. Did you mean to tag your redirect that the page was temporarily moved to? Feel free to reply here, thanks. JamieS93 21:06, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see you recreated the page here. If it was just a mistake, no worries. :) Best, JamieS93 21:23, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that's what it looked like. The several rev histories/pagemoves get a bit confusing, but I think at that time you had CSD tagged the page that was the original article (in the revision history) created by User:Prashanthr01, which is why I inquired. Thanks for clarifying. :) JamieS93 21:43, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of PROD from X factor discography

Hello Pmussler, this is an automated message from SDPatrolBot to inform you the PROD template you added to X factor discography has been removed. It was removed by Boybeni with the following edit summary '(no edit summary)'. Please consider discussing your concerns with Boybeni before pursuing deletion further yourself. If you still think the article should be deleted after communicating with the 'dePRODer,' you may want to send the article to AfD for community discussion. Thank you, SDPatrolBot (talk) 21:46, 19 September 2009 (UTC) (Learn how to opt out of these messages)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Capitals of Armenia

Hello Pmussler, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined the speedy deletion of Capitals of Armenia - a page you tagged - because: Seems like a plausible redirect. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. decltype (talk) 22:10, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Recently you tagged Charles Darwin a life in postage stamps as unencyclopaedic and I was wondering what you suggest as you did not post anything on the talk page. Actually I would suggest a merge to the main Charles Darwin page, if it could be copyedited for clarity in brief. It might make a small addition to the main article, otherwise it should be deleted. You thoughts. I am watching this page for a while. ww2censor (talk) 15:07, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Wiki havanaguns shealwaysgoesdown single2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Thank you for uploading File:JoyDivision Substance2.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILYsock(TALK) 22:05, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Short Circuit (EP) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Duplicate of Short Circuit: Live at the Electric Circus, which is at the correct title.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Michig (talk) 07:11, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Anvil - Anthology.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Anvil - Anthology.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:05, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Alex Prager has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article lacks secondary references.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Replaceable fair use File:Edward Ruscha.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Edward Ruscha.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 22:32, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. License tagging for File:Spector-moth-boys-album-cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Spector-moth-boys-album-cover.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 05:05, 6 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. ⚠

Thanks for uploading File:I Hate RnR JAMC Single.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:53, 16 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New deal for page patrollers

Hi Pmussler,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, Pmussler. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. I removed your edits on the the page "Rendez-Vous"

Rendez-Vous (band) is describing an Israeli band. The information you recently added belongs to a more recent French post-punk band. These are two different bands and should not be on the same wikipedia article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Redwing (talk • contribs) 15:08, 5 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Image without license

Unspecified source/license for File:ColecoVision Game Cartridges.JPG

Thanks for uploading File:ColecoVision Game Cartridges.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 03:45, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

File:Videopac-games.jpg listed for discussion

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Videopac-games.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for discussion. Please see the discussion to see why it has been listed (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry). Feel free to add your opinion on the matter below the nomination. The file File:Alex prager's face in the crowd.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Decorative use in Alex Prager#Works. The photo itself is not the subject of any sourced commentary within the relevant section, so the context required by WP:NFCC#8 is lacking. The photo's sole purpose seem to be to illustrate one entry in list of Prager's works, which is generally not allowed per WP:NFLISTS.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:49, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Cindy-sherman-untitled-153.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Cindy-sherman-untitled-153.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:21, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I uploaded the image intended for the article dedicated the work itself (Untitled_153). It was later added to another page (Cindy Sherman#Art market) for decorative purpose. I now removed it from the latter article again. It now is only part of the main topic article which should qualify for Wikipedia:Non-free content. -- philippE (talk) 17:14, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank's for checking on this. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:33, 7 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:JoyDivision Komakino.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:JoyDivision Komakino.jpg.

Thank you. damiens.rf 16:34, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Rendez-Vous (band) moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Rendez-Vous (band), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. — InsertCleverPhraseHere 10:47, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Rendez-Vous (band), a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:35, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Glamorous Glue, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Major Minor (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Your draft article, Draft:Rendez-Vous (band)

Hello, Pmussler. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Rendez-Vous".

If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 20:02, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
