Signature

No problem! To change your signature, go to "my preferences" at the top right of any page. There, you'll see an option that says "signature." Enter how you want it to appear, using wikimarkup, and then check the box that says "Raw signature." For example, that box for me looks like this: Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c ||, and it automatically adds the time stamp when I sign with four tildes (~~~~). Hope that helps! Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 16:28, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Well, you're already in Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user, so hopefully within a few days a Wikipedian who's seeking to adopt will come find you, but if you don't want to wait for somebody to come to you, you can check out Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User/Adoptee's Area/Adopters, and just go straight up to an adopter and ask them. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 12:59, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

To wikfiy is to make something look like very specific to Wikipedia; that is, to include links, infoboxes (if relevant/necessary), categories, images (if appropriate), sections (if appropriate), etc. So beauty salon, as you can see, has absolutely no links, is a big chunk of text, is a WP:STUB, and is in only two categories besides the maintenance ones (however, two categories may be plenty). It is also unassessed by any WikiProject, as you can see on the talk page. So, add appropriate links, split it not necessarily into sections (since the article is kind of short), but into separate paragraphs (unless you greatly increase the length, and add something like a history section, notable salons, etc.), and find a free use image or make one (that is, you take a photo of a beauty salon yourself). Have fun! --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 19:08, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

It's my pleasure! If you ever have any more questions (though I see you've now been adopted), don't hesitate to ask me. I'll see you around, and good luck! --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 04:36, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Adoption request

I'd be happy to adopt you! Just post me any questions or comments on my Talk Page and I'll do my best to help you or point you in the right direction -- Tellyaddict 19:15, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

 • All you need to do is look at your welcome message above and that contains links to nearly all of wikipedias policies and guidelines. Once you understand them then you can begin to make wikipedia a better place!! Should you need any more help please feel free to contact me on my talk page.-- Tellyaddict 12:35, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
 • Well, all I can suggest is that if your willing to do a little bit of work, then you can do it if you want to and then once you've done it, remove it off the list of to do's and then other users will probably come along and help too on other areas when thet feel like it. To send messages to the users then, then when on your on there talk page click the + icon and type your message, but as for the bot what you mentioned - I'm not sure really? if your really stuck then you can ask me again and I'll search but for now I'm not sure what it is! Tellyaddict 15:51, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
 • See Here but you'll also have to get permission from the wesbite your getting the picture from and mention in the images licence that it is a stamp. Also dont' just put the image naywhere, make sure its actually appropriate there — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tellyaddict (talk • contribs)
 • I think its probably best to leave it and if its really necessary then it will be sorted out and uploaded for the minute its probably best just to leave it. Tellyaddict 12:43, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey Real, I see you had a question on Tellyaddict's talk page about sending mass messages out to people in a certain WikiProject. You can use WP:BOTREQ to request a bot, or, if you have Windows, you can do it yourself using WP:AWB, which is also good for doing repetitive tasks that would manually take a lot of work (typo fixing, general formatting issues, etc.). However, unless you're sending out what will become a regular newsletter to members of the WikiProject, just write the message on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums, and the users who check that page the most (which are the ones you'll want) will respond. :) --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 00:13, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

You're being watched

You're being watched by MrDarcy, CCson, and Robotam. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3AMrDarcy&diff=103650235&oldid=103461715 One of them will answer all of your questions. Until you make a "mistake". From there you'll be labeled a sockpuppet. [1]. Maybe you'll pass the check user [2] ; but most likely you'll be gone... Maybe you can give an opinion on the deleted Charles C. Poindexter undelete request [3] . All the best. 172.194.78.174 00:12, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I don't know what you are talking about. Real96 00:16, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

click on the first link and you'll see "Please keep an eye on Real96 who appeared mid January and immediately immersed in editing the black fraternities and of course Sigma Pi Phi. User also seems quite familiar with wiki policies, creating templates and categories, etc. a great feat for a new user.--Ccson 18:37, 27 January 2007 (UTC)" . The 3 previously listed individuals will if they think you're going against what they believe in, will try to have you taken down and blocked. 172.194.78.174 00:26, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

That user is Mykungfu, and he has been permanently banned from editing Wikipedia for disruption. His comments should be ignored. I would delete the comment above, but you've already seen and responded to it. | Mr. Darcy talk 01:08, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the tip! However, I am definitely not Mykungfu, and am totally clueless to any prior incidents concerning his involvement with Wikipedia. Real96 01:14, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
As I said on my talk page, just ignore him. He's banned because of his behavior, including harassing other users. If you're not him, you're not going to be banned :) | Mr. Darcy talk 01:29, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Revert

I'm sorry, I don't know what article you're referring to. Can you tell me which one? Sounds like I may have nipped your edit while dealing with something else. | Mr. Darcy talk 03:10, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Per the the MyKungfu case.

This edit (visible only to admins, as I deleted it entirely) would seem to indicate a connection here. | Mr. Darcy talk 01:43, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Question: If I were MyKungFu (which I am not) wouldn't I be vandalizing Alpha Kappa Alpha or Alpha Phi Alpha or your talk page with nonsense, instead of improving the quality of this project? Real96 03:16, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
I don't see how that answers the prior question. You left an unhappy message on my talk page regarding some place where I reverted you. Can you show me where that is? I checked my contribs and yours, and I can't find it. I'd like to help you, and will gladly undo my revert if I made a mistake, but you have to show me where it was. | Mr. Darcy talk 03:31, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
And just to answer your question, I suggested before that you ignore Mykungfu's rantings. He's just a child who's not happy that we took his toy away. If you're not him, then there's nothing to worry about. Incidentally, let me know if you want the semi-protection removed from your user or talk pages. | Mr. Darcy talk 03:37, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
Mr. Darcy talk 01:25, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

(reduce indent) Please see this:

Why did you revert my edits if the user is clearly making a NPA attack and violating "no original research"? For the second time, I am not MyKungFu! Real96 03:06, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

You reverted my edits because you thought 1.) I was MyKungFu and 2.) I gave an inappropriate warning to an IP address. I am not trying to act uncivl, but am trying to help out. I will be back next week. Please click on the links for clarification. Real96 03:49, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

You still haven't shown me where I reverted you. Provide a diff or at the very least tell me on what page I reverted you. That diff you posted is your own edit. I haven't touched that page. | Mr. Darcy talk 04:09, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
Per the the MyKungfu case.

This edit (visible only to admins, as I deleted it entirely) would seem to indicate a connection here. | Mr. Darcy talk 01:43, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

I can't see this deletion because I am not an administrator. Real96 04:12, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
You're going in circles. When you find the place where I reverted you, let me know. | Mr. Darcy talk 04:16, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
I am not going in circles. The evidence is above, but you don't want to admit. When the Check User case comes back negative, I request an apology, because this is ludicrious. Real96 04:29, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
Have you found the place where I reverted you yet? | Mr. Darcy talk 14:45, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

(reduce indent) It doesn't matter anymore, because I have already warned the user and the user hasn't done an edit since I warned him. Real96 01:38, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Your help

Hi there, you asked why a checkuser was being run on you, if it came back negative then you have nothing to worry about because you wont' be blocked. I'd suggest leaving a direct comment on the user who requested your checkuser. The ckeckuser doesn't seem to show any IP address though. They seemed to do this as you and another blocked user spelt the word definitaly the same way (it's actually spelled definitely) and that they think you know the policies and stuff well etc. Anyway I wouldn't worry because if you have done nothing wrong then you wont get blocked from editing wikipedia. Any more problems feel free to contact me on my talk page!!! Tellyaddict 10:19, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

As expected, the case user came back negative on me. I wish people would apologize for their actions and move along. Real96 01:37, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
 • If you wish to archive page then you would simply add this template onto your user talk page:

*User talk:Real96/Archives 1

Instead of having that text though you may wish to add this | after the archives 1 bit and then write a date there so it makes it easier for users browsing. For more info see Here. Hopes this solves your problems! Tellyaddict 11:32, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

ummm, welcome!

well, despite all of the above ... welcome aboard! I'm afraid that my priorities are elsewhere than translating, but it sure would be great if you're good at it and interested! The bigger problem is that, it looks like, a lot of Latin America/Spain pages did get translated in a hurry at an earlier part of Wikipedia's life, and they really need cleaning up to better English; this clean-up will go better if it's done by someone who can check the Spanish Wikipedia while they're doing the clean-up. You interested? Again, welcome aboard!

PS: you can learn how to "archive" the above material so that it's off your main talk page, and you don't have to stare at it every time you go to get a message. EspanaViva 23:07, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

I'll help out when you need me, but striving to create "featured articles" on Wikipedia has lost its luster to me. So this is pretty much going to be your ship to steer, and I'll be battening down the hatches. You might be interested in picking up a few books on Motown from the library or the bookstore - you'd be appalled how much of Dreamgirls isn't all that fictional.--FuriousFreddy 23:38, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I know. I am a bit of a Motown fan myself. I like Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell (big fan). Diana Ross also has a child by Berry Gordy as well. Real96 23:40, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Good Article

You could try nominating it for WP:GA at the good article candidates page. Cbrown1023 talk 00:18, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

I have done that. Thanks. Real96 02:43, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Semi-protected - thanks for the heads-up! | Mr. Darcy talk 16:23, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

My dog

Hey Real, thanks for your message. I wouldn't mind you using my dog's picture, but he's not actually a golden retriever. :) Many people think he's a golden retriever and sometimes when people see him in the car they ask if he's a lab pup, but he's actually a 13-year-old corgi cross! Cheers, Sarah 07:38, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

People can remove messages from their talk pages if they want to. Removing warnings is at least an acknowledgement that they've seen the messages. This has been discussed lots of times on WP:ANI and that is the general consensus. Instead of fighting over restoring the warnings and messages, I think it is better to encourage people to archive rather than blanking. You mentioned that Kyoko and Spawn man voted on the wrong RfA, I wouldn't worry about it. Kyoko has already !voted on the correct page and I think Spawn Man will find his way there, too. If not we can remind him in a couple of days. Thanks for your messages, Sarah 17:39, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Momma Said Knock You Out

An editor has nominated Momma Said Knock You Out, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Do You Have Love For New York? and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Jayden54Bot 10:45, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Re : When are you "coming back" to Wikipedia?

Hahahaha...! Finally I shall give up and declare myself to be officially Wikipediholic despite my attempt to go on a proper WikiBreak. Give me a weekend, I'll work on something new over the weekend for my talkpage. XD - Cheers, Mailer Diablo 13:53, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Welcome back! Real96 06:23, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Thank you!

Thank You,
Miranda/A for your Support!
Thank you for your support in my RfA, which closed at 111 / 1 / 2. I am humbled and rather shocked to see such kind comments and for it to reach WP:100. Please feel free to leave a note if I have made a mistake or if you need anything, I will start out slow and tackle the harder work once I get accustomed to the tools. Thank you once more, I simply cannot express in words my gratitude.

Hiya

Sorry about that bit of stupidity. I'll try not to make up excuses, and I realize now I should've went to Jtervin's page. I was just a bit annoyed with how many episodes there were and wasn't thinking straight. (: Babylon pride 22:55, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

That's okay. Everyone's not perfect. We are all human and make mistakes once in a while :-) Real96 06:23, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Is there any way to get an admin's immediate attention to block the IP? I've been reverting for probably 10-15 minutes now at Hollaback Girl, No Doubt, and Nicole Scherzinger. ShadowHalo 09:02, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Never mind, looks like someone just blocked the IP. ShadowHalo 09:03, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Generally, admins are unactive on an early Sunday/late Saturday night (in America), which is weird. Real96 09:04, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
