RE:Euro 2016

Huseklepp

Hello. I do appreciate your reasoning, but that isn't how the parameter is defined. The infobox documentation defines the |years= parameter as "A list of years that the player has been contracted at each professional club" (my bolding). It doesn't refer to "seasons played in".

If Mr Huseklepp's contract with Brann ended in 2010, and he joined Bari in 2011, then the end date for Brann would be 2010 and the start date for Bari 2011. However, if he was still under contract with Brann until he joined Bari in 2011, then an end date of 2011 is correct according to the parameter definition.

There was a relevant discussion HERE, which didn't really achieve anything. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 07:25, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Norway football task force

Hi there. Sorry for the late reply, I've been kinda busy lately combined with the fact that I needed to find out what I thought about a Norwegian football task force. What strikes me first is, what is your reasoning behind creating a taskforce? If it is to get a "better overview on what exists of Norwegian football articles", there is some useful tools you can use instead. This tool show all the 2758 pages that is tagged with both a WP Football banner and a WP Norway banner. This one is another good tool, and on the results shown I've found the 171 articles about footballers capped for Norway that are stubs.

I'd love a Norwegian football task force where the goal was to "improve the most important topics regarding Norwegian football", but I don't think there are enough editors out there to justice a separate taskforce. From my experience it's only User:Barend, UserBj94 (which edits with loads of different IP's, I'm sure you're familiar with this user from no:wp) who frequently edits articles on Norwegian football along with User:Geschichte (which basically edits everything related to Norway). User:Roghue does some improvement on AaFK-related subject every now and then, but other editors like User:Arsenikk and User:Rettetast which previously did a great job with Norwegian football seem to have stopped editing. In total, there isn't enough people to have a separate taskforce (you've also asked most of these people, and noone has replied until now). However, I have previously talked with User:Reckless182 about creating a task-force on Scandinavian football or Nordic football, but we haven't done anything more about it - what would you say to such a task-force? Fixing redirects

Hi there. I noticed that you changed [[Rosenborg Ballklub|Rosenborg]] to [[Rosenborg BK|Rosenborg]] in some articles, to prevent using redirects. I see your logic, but per WP:NOTBROKEN this is something that we shouldn't use our time on. Cheers, Mentoz86 (talk) 17:19, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I know. It's just something I enjoy doing now and then. Did all the Norwegian ones yesterday. And just had to do the most awful ones here (Rosenborg Ballklubb, which has one b to much at the end). And then the ball just started rolling. Couldn't stop myself. Btw, you should fix the remaining three that links to Rosenborg Ballklub.

Also, I would like to finally answer you regarding the task force. For some reason I've put off answering you. After I was stopped from continuing my work, I haven't really done much about it. I tend to lose motivation when things come in my way. And I also haven't had as much time as I thought to do something about it either. And has since mainly focused on updating the Norwegian Tippeligaen 2013 article. My goal creating a task force was to

  • get a better overview of what exists and not of articles
  • get a discussion ground for what should and need to be done
  • get people to work as inspiration for each other
  • actually work on improving the most important topics

But I agree with you. It doesn't look like there's enough people active at the moment to keep a task force alive.

Regarding a Nordic/Scandinavian task force. That could work. But I think it will end up with Norwegians working on Norwegian topics and Swedes working on Swedish topics etc. On the other hand it's better to have a Nordic/Scandinavian task force that also covers Norway. Than no working task force at all.

--Kjello (talk) 00:36, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That looks like the right reasons to start a task-force, there are a lot of articles about Norwegian football that hasn't been updated since 2008, but again I doubt we'll have enough editors for a Norwegian-only task-force, so I will probably initiate a Scandinavian or Nordic task-force when I have time. I've recently also worked on the same article, though in English, 2013 Tippeligaen, by expanding the text (I don't like articles with only tables, without explanatory text - would you have a look and see if I missed any important events of the season? Cheers, Mentoz86 (talk) 12:58, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Rosenborg BK in European football, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Dell (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
