Hello Khalid. I have just added your name in the List of Moroccan Wikipedians. Do you know any other Moroccans? Fayssal 09:51, Apr 20, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks Khalid for your contributions and corrections on Gnawa and Raja Casablanca. You are invited to collaborate w/ me on the topic about cultures of Morocco. It can be found here on my sandbox. I believe that the section "Music" and "Cuisine" can be reduced and merged with Cuisine of Morocco and Music of Morocco. Keep in touch. Svest 14:18, Apr 21, 2005 (UTC)

Hello

1) Assalamu alaykum. :)

2) Please consider voting at Wikipedia:Conspiracy theory to restrict the use of the pejorative "Conspiracy Theory" in article headings. This phrase prejudges content in a way that is unacceptable, as witnessed in 9/11 domestic conspiracy theory

3) When you get a chance, please drop me a line at yusuf.toropov@gmail.com. I have something I would like to discuss off-line. BrandonYusufToropov 14:47, 6 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the delayed reply. As you suggested, it is indeed possible to block the URL permanently: it can be added to the m:spam blacklist. However, only meta administrators (which excludes me) can add URLs to the list; if the spammer continues to be a problem, you can always make a request at m:talk:spam blacklist. User Page

Greetings, Khalid. I am in the process of disambiguating about 600 links in the Wikipedia that refer to Arabic. Most of these are references to Arabic language. In the second paragraph on your user page, you have a reference to Arabic. If you like, you could disambiguate this thus: [[Arabic language|Arabic]]. I do not want to edit your user page directly.

The Bible Unearthed

Hello. I hope you don't mind, but I renamed your article to use just the main title of the book. It's the usual convention here on Wikipedia, and I just thought the other was too unwieldy. Sorry, I ought to have checked with you first. We can always change it back if you disagree.

I'm glad you started the article. It's an important book; I read it a couple of years ago. Although not my area of expertise, I have always enjoyed studying Biblical archaeology. Regards, SDC 06:12, 18 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Miguel de Luna

Hi Khalid,

I was just reading Wiki's "Morisco" entry, and I tracked you down as the person who mentioned Miguel de Luna and his _Verdadera historia_. I was amazed and happy to see that someone else has read Luna's history, and especially from the same perspective that I read it. I wrote my Ph.D. dissertation on the _Verdadera historia_, and am in the process of reworking it into a book manuscript.

I was wondering if you had ever come accross a date of birth and date of death for Luna? I've been searching for that information for years, with no luck.

Again, it was nice to see someone else who knows who Miguel de Luna was! Thank you very much in advance, Safiyya 01:24, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Moroccan Arabic

Bravo! -- Svest 23:10, 13 December 2005 (UTC)  Wiki me up™[reply]

Accessibility in OpenDocument

Hi thre, if you mean Accessibility in OpenDocument, then yes I did put the {{POV}} tag on it. But I did not, however, add the {{POV}} tag on OpenDocument. Accessibility in OpenDocument reads: "So from that perspective, OpenDocument is at least as accessible as Microsoft Office", and "unless Microsoft decides to implement the OpenDocument standard." I would fairly regard them as slight POV. Thanks, --Kilo-Lima 18:31, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, then fine, I thought that was because of the splinting, I am doing some restructuration because the article is getting rediculously long, thanks --Khalid hassani 18:34, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Licensing page

Hi. I notice very little of the content on the OpenDocument Licensing page appears to be actually about OpenDoc Licensing - perhaps it would be better to merge it into the Microsoft Office Open XML? Morwen - Talk 13:16, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well this entry needs to be heavily refactored anyway as the initial document OpenDocument was becoming very long. I don't belive it should be merged with Microsoft Office Open XML as this entry is about the Microsoft XML format, on the other hand former entry sould be perhaps renamed to someting like OpenDocument vs. Microsoft Office Open XML licensing ?

Hi Khalid. I protested against the existance of such a title (that never existed), because of the content of article. I need a new title for this article. See my comments at its talk page. Cheers -- Svest 17:47, 20 December 2005 (UTC)  Wiki me up™[reply]

Microsoft and ODF

Wow, that was fast! The idea of context in an article is that you can grasp the idea in a short paragraph at the beginning and then move on to the details. In part, also, it has to do with explaining other things. I have only a slight idea about ODF and somehow I remember that MS said it was going to support it; other readers will have no idea whatsoever. You have to consider the possibility that the reader may come across the article without reading the other, more general articles that might provide the context. You should explain what the problem is in a few lines, for example, MS having proprietary formats, ODF being developed to address such and such concerns, MS vowing to support, then refusing to support ODF, etc. Don't think of the article as a continuation of a previous article, even if it was split from a larger one. Each article must be able to stand on its own. I'd also like to know how "Microsoft wrote a letter to Massachusetts". What's this Massachusetts? The state? The state government? A court? That's more or less what I mean by context. You can remove the context tag yourself anytime you want; I'm not the "article police" but just another editor. (In fact, you can also tag articles yourself if you feel they're missing something; see e. g. Wikipedia:Template messages/Cleanup.) Peace, --Pablo D. Category change on Avionics software

Hello there, and happy new year! I did not think your change to Avionics software improved the page. Example: Software certified to higher levels of DO-178B must:

  • consider the loader (which transfers the output from the linker to the target system)
  • verify the compiler and linker (or the outputs from them)
  • include system software such as an RTOS (or a "home-made-system") which also needs to be verified.

Is it OK if I (or you) revert the change?

Petter Nordby 00:16, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have presonally edited hundreds of articles during AFD. Most articles under AFD get edits, often very signficant edits during the AFD process. The is the norm. Countless editors do the same. Rarely would an article this bad, not be transformed during the AFD process. I don't expect you to be an expert on the rules, but if you don't know the rules, don't pretend to recite them. Don't accuse people of breaking them. --Rob 18:27, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Salut Khalid.

--Yobaranut 17:30, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, The Islam template is used in all Islam related articles and it carries an image of the mosque, if you take a close look at the other religion templates they all carry an icon that actually symbolizes the particular religion. The question is what symbolizes Islam? As a muslim you would agree that we cannot Idolize any symbol as sacred as it would be Shirk. So the next question is what kind of icon would correctly represent Islam and Muslims? It is undoubtedly the Shahada, because without it we wouldn't be muslims. So I have suggested to change the template image from a masjid to a Masjid with the Shahada in it. In order to have the image in the template I need build some consense, could you kindly visit the talk page (Template_talk:Islam) and make your suggestion, lets have the template change so it will correctly represent Islam. (You do not have to support it if you dont like it). thanks in advance.  «Mÿšíc»  (T) 10:58, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Larry Constantine, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Larry Constantine is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Larry Constantine, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. The Art of Charm - advertisement, notability, and conflict of interest

Dear Khalid Hassani, I noticed you have tagged The Art of Charm article as being an advertisement, not being notable, and having a conflict of interest by the major contributor. In response, I have 3 questions for you:

  • What is it about the article that leads you to believe it is written like an advertisement, when it is merely stating a brief description of the company?
  • What is it about the article that leads you to believe that The Art of Charm is not considered notable? It has been mentioned by credible third party sources such as The Today Show, The Daily News, and the Curtis Sliwa Show.
  • How is there a conflict of interest by the major contributor, when there has only been a brief description of the company and credible third party sources were referenced?

Thank you,

David X. Li entry

Hi Khalid! I noticed that you are one of a few contributors to David X. Li's wiki page and I'm curious to know if you have read WIRED's March 2009 issue. If so, did you pick up the issue at a newsstand or are you a WIRED subscriber? If you are a subscriber, how long have you been subscribing and what do you do for a living? What are your thoughts on WIRED's March issue and Felix Salmon's article? I hope I'm not being bothersome, I'm just curious because I am a longtime loyal WIRED reader and I also work for the magazine, too.

Anyway, I just wanted to send you a message because the number of page views for David X. Li's wiki page have soared since it was revised on 2/24/09, which also happens to be the day that WIRED's March 2009 issue went on sale. I think it's great that you felt compelled to contribute to updating Li's page because, clearly, a lot of people wanted to find out more about Li and this obscure copula function that Wall Street misused. I would love to hear about yourself and any thoughts you have about the story, WIRED, or the financial system. Kudos to you!

Unnotable storyteller. No significant coverage in reliable, third-party sources. Fails WP:BIO and WP:N, and as there is no real sourcing available, can not meet WP:BLP

Welcome to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Electropaedia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Sparthorse (talk) 10:10, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Category: Pyrolysis

I have noted that you have been putting items into this category. It is interesting to note that there is only one company in the category. I might suggest that you add more companies or get rid of the one that is there. At the moment, it appears to be an attempt to place spam, which I am sure is probably not your desire. Thanks.JSR (talk) 14:53, 22 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I wasn't proposing the company for deletion. I was proposing removing them from the category or adding other companies with similar technologies to the category. The purpose is solely to make the category appear to be a bit more neutral.JSR (talk) 15:52, 22 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I noticed from your edits that you're interested in programming. I thought you might want to know that the Wikimedia open source community welcomes you to get developer access so you can contribute code, critique others' commits, and generally get a better sense of how this place works on a technical level.

Also, the Wikimedia Foundation is hiring programmers, in case you know anyone who's looking. Remote work is often feasible.

Speedy deletion nomination of Nayda

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Nayda, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ♠PMC(talk) 10:38, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
