Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Caving may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on .

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
 • * Vertical caving using ladders or single rope technique]] (SRT) to avoid the need for climbing passages that are too difficult. SRT however is a complex

LED efficiency droop

Hello,
Thank you for revision of the LED efficiency droop section. I agree with your revision, with exception. You deleted two facts about the LED efficiency droop; LEDs droop up to 20% and the droop was first discovered in 1999. You also deleted the reference: Rensselaer Researchers Identify Cause of LED “Efficiency Droop”, Rensselaer, Mary L. Martialay, 30 July 2013.

Do you believe that the information is wrong?
Or do you believe that the information isn't significant?

If you believe that information is wrong or the source isn't authoritative, then please explain.

If you believe the information isn't significant, then I disagree. Noting that the LEDs only droop up to 20% demonstrates that the droop is a very minimal problem compared to the overheating. With that said, regardless of the percentage of droop, the amount of droop seems very significant. And knowing when the droop was discovered seems, like any disease discovered, to be of great relevance with respect to the timeline of solving the issue.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,
--Wyn.junior (talk) 00:01, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

These are good points. I have replaced the information but left out the source which I do not think is reliable since it seems to be self-published and written by a publicist for the research institution and it lacks any sources to back up the statements about the 20% droop and 1999 date. I appreciate your style in reasonably addressing your concerns here rather than reverting my edits on the article page (though the talk page would also have been a good place for this, so others could read and participate). Thank you very much. Jojalozzo 03:57, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

LED efficiency droop

I like your revisions with the citations needed added.

I've seen the "up to 20%" in other articles, although I highly doubt that could be true. If you crank the amps up to say 10 or 20 amperes, I would guess it would droop a lot more. I've never heard of anything over 5 watts being produced. I think the 20% droop is achieved at a certain amount of amperes.

That is the first time I have seen the droop being first found in 1999. It would be nice to find more articles on the subject.

Anchor help

Hello, I added a Li-Fi paragraph and link to the Internet of Things article. I think it needed an anchor and paragraph. Can you please add a Li-Fi anchor to that article above the paragraph that I added so I know what you are talking about? Even after reading the anchor article, I am still not grasping the concept. Thanks for your help.--Wyn.junior (talk) 22:38, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

I'd be glad to help. The anchor concept derives from "anchors" in HTML linking. In Wikitext you can link to a section header with a link like User talk:Jojalozzo#Gallery Added or, if the target of the link is on the same page, using the shorthand, #Gallery Added . If you want to link to a location that is inside a section, you can put a hidden "anchor" at that location and then reference it with similar wikitext User talk:Jojalozzo#Random anchor. If you look at the source for this page you will see the hidden Random anchor up in the middle of the #Gallery Added section on this talk page, right where you end up if you select the link to User talk:Jojalozzo#Random anchor. Got it?
A couple of comments about what you've done in Internet of Things:
First, I think LiFi does not belong in the introduction of the article because LiFi is rather tangential to the topic. Anything about what particular communication medium a network uses seems a minor detail. I strongly recommend moving that paragraph deep inside somewhere if it belongs on that page at all.
Second, my suggestion was to eliminate or reduce duplication of content by summarizing and linking (via anchors when the content is not a whole article or section in an article) to more expanded content. I assume this paragraph is not a duplicate of a paragraph somewhere else, right? If so, it's not a candidate for summary and linking to expanded content.
If you show me where you copied the same content into two articles I can show you what I mean about how to use anchors to avoid such duplication. Jojalozzo 05:27, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Rum Boogie Café requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Hi Jojalozzo,
I saw that you are listed as a peer reviewer for articles regarding society. I translated an article with some friends of mine from German to English and added it to WP a few days ago. As I'm not a native speaker (and only two of my friends are "half-natives"), I would love to have the article be checked by a native English speaker. The article deals with a typical old-school European fraternity that is only somewhat similar to what people know in the US and Canada as student societies. We also listed the article for a good article review and hope that the peer review will result in synergies.

The review can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Peer_review/Corps_Altsachsen_Dresden/archive1

Thank you for your help :) Cheers, --WikimanGer  Talk  Mail   17:19, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi, why did you revert Beyond My Ken's edit on YOLO (motto) here? It looks pretty legitimate (Saturday Night Live is supposed to be italicized). Epicgenius (talk) 21:25, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for catching that. I only meant to remove the bold "Notes" added to the references section, not the italics. There is no need for a Notes subheader in the References section unless there is a need to distinguish notes from references. In this case there are only References and no notes. I agree that the italics belong there. Jojalozzo 02:15, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
I agreed with the removal of the "Notes" header too, as it's unnecessary; that is why I did not restore it. Thank you for the explanation, by the way. Epicgenius (talk) 02:22, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Disclosure (disambiguation page)

Hello, Jojalozzo. You made a series of edits to Disclosure, and I have gone and undone all your hard work. Let me explain why.

The biggest edit, this one on 25 March, added a bunch of things called "Foo disclosure" or "Disclosure foo". Since a DAB page is a navigation aid, typically it only contains things that editors might link to or readers might search for by typing, in this case, "Disclosure" (full stop). Therefore, partial name matches are usually not included, unless they are also sometimes called "disclosure" without the foo. Note that the See also section has a link labeled "All pages with titles containing 'Disclosure'". That goes to the search interface, where all those other pages will turn up.

In addition, this edit replaced the link Full disclosure (disambiguation), which redirects to Full disclosure, with a direct link. Again, since disambiguation pages are navigation aids, typically they should have no incoming links. If someone links to a disambiguation page, it usually means they made a mistake and failed to link to the article they had in mind. In this case, you do intend to link to the disambiguation page. Therefore, we use the redirect with (disambiguation) in the name to make that obvious.

Obviously, if I was too hasty in rolling back your edits and you really think all those things should be on the disambiguation page, let me know – either here or at Talk:Disclosure. Happy editing, Cnilep (talk) 07:38, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

May 16, 2014 Edits

Hello, Jojalozzo. Thank you for your note. As clarification, the goal of the entries and contributions was to provide Wikipedia users verifiable, neutral, useful information and in-depth references to published studies. The goal was not to promote any specific view point. The papers referenced are already publicly and freely available on the Social Science Research Network at ssrn.com. Additionally, the papers are licensed via Creative Commons pursuant to the preferences of the Wikipedia community. Apologies for any inconvenience and confusion. Thank you for your efforts in promoting free, quality information.155.247.34.66 (talk) 20:53, 16 May 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for responding. Please also address the issue of conflict of interest. There are a number of signs that you are Lin or related to him some way. If that is the case it doesn't matter how verifiable, neutral, or useful the sources are, Wikipedia policy requires you to make a formal note of your relationship to Lin on your user page and to only post links to his publications after you discuss it on the talk pages of the articles where you wish to make the posts. If you continue to post links to Lin's publications without complying with COI policy you may be blocked from editing. Jojalozzo 23:00, 16 May 2014 (UTC)

Greetings. Thank you for your post. Apologies for the edits. As a relatively new contributor to Wikipedia, the edits were made without familiarity to Wikipedia’s customs. The edits were made to remove references to personal information pursuant to Wikipedia’s promotion of privacy and anonymity. Humble Request

Hi Jojalozzo. I am a new editor on Wikipedia and i request you to copyedit the Lucknow article. Please note that i am not the admin or creator of the article but i have restructured the article according to the wikipedia guidelines. So keeping it short and simple, i am looking for your suggestions on making it a high quality (GA or FA worthy) article. Altough i understand that you may be busy ( i request you to do it if you are not), but if its really a mess than i'd be very happy if you can suggest me an editor so that the article can be speedily copyedited.Thanking youWikiboy2364 (talk) 21:55, 25 July 2014 (UTC)

Some suggestions and recommendations:
 1. Always use edit summaries so other editors can easily figure out what you are doing. It's a critical part of collaborating on this project.
 2. Stay humble. Don't reach for FA until you understand and have achieved a solid GA. Don't even think about FA.
I can't recommend anyone to copy edit the page but I'll add it to my regular watch list and will stop by now and then to help out.
Cheers. Jojalozzo 02:28, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
 • I have edited and corrected the page as much as i can. I now hand it over to you for some professional touch and copyedit. I will always be there to help in case of any conflicts, if the case arises. Wikiboy2364 (talk) 18:47, 27 July 2014 (UTC)

I'd appreciate it if you point the directions to include external links (EL) in an article. Is that also a policy of "popular literature". Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mre env (talk • contribs) 18:49, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

See WP:External links. It's not helpful to simply list a bunch of articles. Wikipedia is not a directory. Outside sources are useful to support statements in the article but just listing them is inappropriate and suggests an attempt to artificially increase a topic's notability. I suggest finding a few instances of popular literature, those that do the best job of handling the topic, and use them to improve the support for statements in the article. If you do that, be sure to use good citations and provide links when available.
If you are a proponent of constructal law theory then you need to be careful about keeping your personal point of view from biasing your contributions. Jojalozzo 02:29, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

Anterior cruciate ligament tear

Hi Jojalozzo! I noted your comments to robertafra concerning rotator cuff tear. A similar situation appears to have arisen with edits to anterior cruciate ligament tear by 76:126:129:143 on September 21. In this case, edits by the latter and Kenneth R Stone seem to indicate that they are one and the same, prompting the question "Why would one edit from more than one account?" Interestingly, there is a wiki dedicated to Kenneth R. Stone, authored in part by Kenneth R Stone. Of course, if multiple addresses belong to the same person, it could have been created entirely by Kenneth Stone. Your comments would be appreciated. --Mdscottis (talk) 22:04, 23 September 2014 (UTC)

Test 1

Hi,

It is the first time I use this feature, if you do not mind, I decided to use you for the test. I do not want to do edit war with you. I will not undo what you removed and neither will I put back differently a list of manufacturers at "uninterruptible power supply".

I would appreciate a reply to this message to help me understand how it works.

Thanks!

Best regards,

William0004662 (talk) 03:57, 2 November 2014 (UTC)
Hi William. I'm glad you understand the edit warring issues and the other problems with some of your recent contributions. I think you will avoid most trouble when editing Wikipedia if you don't add content related to businesses that you may be involved with. Jojalozzo 19:31, 2 November 2014 (UTC)

DIscussion with William

Hi Jojalozzo,

The reason why I put back what had previously been removed from "uninterruptible power supply" was because I though that by putting the link to these companies web site next to the company name was violating Wiki's terms of used. So therefore, I put back the manufacturers names without the web site address next to it. I used the web sites home pages as reference to the company's names + by clicking on some companies; you were link to Wiki pages on them. I guess I still do not fully understand Wiki's terms. I read that there is a discussion about me for edit warring. I would be disappointed to be banned/blocked from editing Wiki. If it is possible to add some manufacturers names there, I will let somebody else do it, for I do not know how to do it right. I will not undo your removal, and neither will I try to put the same article differently.

PS: I was not sure how to talk to you, as I am new at Wiki. I just read that it is better to talk than do edit war. If I wrote this message at the wrong place, I would very much appreciate you to let me know where and how to do a discussion with another user about an article/edit.

Best regards,

Undoing of talk page content

Hi Jojalozzo, I'm newish to Wiki, so maybe my question has an obvious answer. Q: I thought it was standard procedure to allow editors to enter content on talk pages and, then, for other editors to simply leave that content as it is, unedited, undeleted. I note, however, that you sometimes remove content from talk pages if you consider that content to be irrelevant to improving the corresponding article. I haven't restored anything you've deleted, just so you know, but wouldn't it be preferable to steer the conversation on a talk page to the relevant subject of improving the article, rather than removing the content you deem it to be irrelevant? Curious, DoctorTerrella (talk) 02:10, 8 November 2014 (UTC)

I probably should have added that I'm looking at the Fourier transform page. Thanks, DoctorTerrella (talk) 02:22, 8 November 2014 (UTC)

Hi Doc, it's common to remove personal opinions about a topic and other content posted on a talk page when it's not aimed at improving the article. This discourages the use of article talk pages as chat forums. Editors can use their own talk pages for that if they like. See WP:NOTFORUM and talk page guidelines (Off-topic posts). stub tag on Groundcrew

Hallo, while stubsorting I came across groundcrew, to which you'd added stub.

Three problems:

 1. Stub tags go at the bottom, not the top - see WP:ORDER
 2. Stub tags don't take a date parameter
 3. As you'd have spotted if you'd gone to the bottom of the article, this already had aviation-stub, so didn't need another stub tag added.

There's a lot to learn about editing Wikipedia, but it's an interesting journey. Happy Editing. PamD 09:02, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I've recently submitted the COBOL article for peer review and I'd really appreciate any comments you might have on it. Information icon Hello, I'm Delfont. I wanted to thank you for your deletions of my your recent contributions to List of companies of the United States by state and Carpet cleaning for the reasons of "because they appeared to be promotional". I fully understand Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Although I could possibly agree in seeing a conflict with the Carpet cleaning due to the return link used to return to the main website. Though, this is an informational page with no internal links except for a " back to carpet cleaning services" (this is used to return to their website).

I do not see the difference of the provided United States recognized and Indiana Licensed Sure Clean Inc that was listed. This listing was identical except for a link. If the link is the problem, then remove the link. Here is a promotional page of wikipedia Servpro. As you notice, it has many links refering back to the promotional homepage. That is why I felt that adding a link to the homepage on List of companies of the United States by state must be acceptable. Thanks again! Delfont

There should be no companies in the List of companies of the United States by state that do not have Wikipedia articles about them. URL links should not appear there. If your company is sufficiently notable to have its own Wikipedia article like Servpro then you should start one, but it takes a lot of independent news coverage (not press releases) to gain that level of notability. Source

Do you think this is a wrong source?:

According the Swiss Medical Weekly a report for the Swiss government, shows homeopathy is effective, appropriate, safe and economic. [1]

Evidently you lack the language skills to understand that the study you cite completely trashes a flawed report that erroneously concluded that homeopathy is effective. http://www.theguardian.com/science/2014/apr/11/world-homeopathy-awareness-week-homeopathic-preparations --Pediainsight (talk) 20:03, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

It seems you have misunderstood my warnings and suggestions. To be absolutely clear, I do not think you have any business editing articles like Homeopathy which are closely monitored by administrators who have wide latitude in imposing restrictions on editors who do not adhere to policy or who insist on pushing their own point of view. You have twice tried to mis-use a source there and may already be in the cross-hairs.
The source you list here is meaningless without the content you propose to include under its support and that illustrates the problem. Your lack of understanding of policy and inadequate English language skills puts you in harms way and I don't think you should be contemplating any edits to the Homeopathy article. As I have urged you repeatedly, stick to correcting grammar, adding categories and wiktionary links, in safe articles, and you will be fine. If you persist in attempting more ambitious edits you will very likely be blocked from editing.

I am going to use my english language, yes, and if you do not like my english language, it is not my problem, cheers. --Pediainsight (talk) 15:29, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

Certainly you should use English as you like but not in violation of Wikipedia policy. I think you may run afoul of policy due to difficulties understanding that policy, understanding the sources you are using, and understanding talk page discussions about your contributions. This will all become your problem if you are blocked from editing. Jojalozzo (talk) 15:47, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

Peer review request

Hi. I had a request for peer review of the Gateway Protection Programme article closed before the article had been reviewed. It was suggested at Wikipedia talk:Peer review that a review could still take place, and that I should ask specific reviewers if they would be interested in providing the review. Would you be interested and willing to do this, by any chance? Cordless Larry (talk) 11:42, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi Jojalozzo. Could you let me know either way whether you're able to do this, before I ask another peer reviewer? No worries if you don't have the time. Cordless Larry (talk) 16:26, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
Sorry, I've not had a lot of time for this project recently. How is the review process going? Jojalozzo (talk) 02:28, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
No problem. It's not really going, since the request was closed before anyone had the chance to review it! Cordless Larry (talk) 18:10, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

Beepi

Hi,

Thanks for your comment on Beepi. I have a COI, as disclosed, but I just told the company I would keep the profile up to date, as needed. They didn't ask me for any specific language or to even to review my updates. I'm not an employee. I saw four major profiles of them in major publications over a few weeks - Forbes, New York Times, Business Week and USA Today - all cited on that Talk page. I chose the highlights that struck me as the most relevant. I was a business reporter and editor for many years, so the content choices reflect my interests, I guess. No one asked me to appeal to investors. Also, another editor once asked if I could get their specific revenue and I finally found references for these.

I have not and will not make any direct changes to the piece. I will take another shot at some new language based on your feedback. I understand that from the perspective of the consumer, especially, the revenue and valuation may seem boring or irrelevant. I do want to keep the article up to date, though, when there are lots of major articles in major publications. I will write back when I take my next crack at it.
