Why are you here?

  1. You are hacked off because I nominated one of your articles for deletion - This isn't the place to discuss it, I strongly suggest taking it up in the appropriate AfD discussion or on the articles talk page.
  2. You are replying to a message I left on your talk page - Don't reply here! Reply on your talk page, I'll be watching!
  3. You want to discuss an article - If it is an article I have previously contributed to, it is likely to be on my watchlist, consider starting a discussion there instead, it may generate more discussion from outside parties.
  4. You think I'm harassing you - Unlikely. I have over 20,000 pages on my watchlist, including every UK place, road, bus operator and bus route (and most rail articles). If you edit the same group of articles, we are bound to bump into each other!
  5. You actually wish to talk to me - Welcome! You are in the right place, start a new discussion at the bottom of the page!

The talk page

I feel that 'I should clear the air'...

Good afternoon Jeni,
I feel that 'I should clear the air' because it unsettles me to have bad feeling hanging around near me in Wikipediaworld.
You should understand that I was only trying to 'lighten things' with my edit summary on the M48 motorway article here when I quoted Max Boyce's famous expression.
Furthermore, I was, and still am, confused with this event. From that revision, I believed that Martin was in support of the removal.
I know he must have told you that I asked him to confirm this by my e-mailing him, and I must add that he has not made a reply of any description. I mean no harm. I am fairly new to Wikipedia and still have a lot to learn from well-established editors such as yourself.

Last night I rewrote The Route section. Perhaps you would like to comment on my copy-edit. I particularly appreciated your adding this ref. –
Sincerely,
-- Gareth Griffith-Jones/The Welsh Buzzard 12:31, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Post script: On going through the recent history of my Talk page, I have seen for the first time the posts that you made on 28 November. It would appear that this addition by a child, User:Historygurl12345, caused the deletion Hence the mix-up with your reading [Please read this!

  • (talk page stalker) Jeni is offline. Some say she has a social life outside WP, but I'm suspicious. Anyway, I've had a look at your edit, and I can confirm that the M48 violates the standard motorway numbering rules as documented in National Archives File M112/67 ("Traffic signs on motorways and major roads proposed numbering of motorways") as authored by the Ministry of Transport, which I have camera copies of (somewhere). Per WP:SOURCEACCESS, this is acceptable, as all is required for verification is that a member of the public can access them, which you can if you can get to The National Archives (United Kingdom) in Kew and have suitable identification. Hope that's of use. --Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 19:12, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Your reply is more than just helpful. Thank you.
My argument is that as it is the original "zone boundary",
and as the Wales section follows the A48,
and as it is a loop leaving and returning to the M4 motorway,
it is correctly numbered.
I also value your replying to me yesterday regarding the A41/A1 in London.
Cheers!  – Gareth Griffith-Jones/The Welsh Buzzard 19:34, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm here... just! Just nowhere near as active as I used to be! You have nothing to worry about Gareth, sometimes disagreements happen on this wonderful world that we call Wikipedia!
Ritchie, how dare you suggest that I have a life ;-) I lost it somewhere, I think I left it on a train to Paignton the other day! Jeni (talk) 10:06, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Good morning Jeni,
Ha, ha! This Wikipediaworld is a great deal better for me today, since reading your reply.
I replied to Ritchie on his Talk page yesterday and copied it here (above) for you to comment on, if you would be so kind. –
