New Page Triage engagement strategy released

Hey guys!

I'm dropping you a note because you filled out the New Page Patrol survey, and indicated you'd be interested in being contacted about follow-up work. This is to notify you that we've finally released both the initial documentation about the project and also the engagement strategy, which sets out how we plan to work with the community on this. Please give both a read, and leave any comments or suggestions you have on the talkpage, on my talkpage, or in my inbox - okeyes@wikimedia.org.

It's awesome to finally get to start work on this! :). Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 02:33, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Might want to be a little more careful with your reverts. [1] GorillaWarfare (talk) 04:34, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the advice. Sorry I didn't go far enough back. I have been more careful with them in the last six months.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 04:54, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
No worries! I'd be lying if I said I haven't done the same sort of thing before. GorillaWarfare (talk) 05:14, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Hey, perhaps "sexual" is translating wrong in this context? I mean to say it brought exuberant joy. 71.237.161.31 (talk) 03:36, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

No, that would be way more than "mainly positive reception". What's your native language?   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 03:40, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Please review my edits on First Baptist. As I said on the talk page, my information had two sources, and was not based on a personal preference. Here are the two sources. http://www.fbchammond.com/new/what-we-believe/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-JnRbj8wqE Thank You. (99.146.113.3 (talk) 04:21, 6 March 2012 (UTC))

Thanks, but that info is best presented on Talk:First Baptist Church (Hammond, Indiana).   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 04:26, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Also, what do you think about creating a FBC controversy page. There def. is enough to fill an article. Half of the article should not be on controversy and scandals. There's way more stuff to write about than that. Do you think its kind of disproportional? (99.146.113.3 (talk) 04:26, 6 March 2012 (UTC))

Please feel free to draft one at Wikipedia:Articles for creation/First Baptist Church (Hammond, Indiana) controversy, which I just started for you. Please also draft a summary of it for the main article.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 04:32, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Editor review

Hi Jeff - I forgot to notify you yesterday that I commented on your editor review, so er... now I am. Cheers, Yunshui ‍水 12:43, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Re: Re: Micronations

In August 2010, you expressed interest in Safiria and yet pursued it no further. Would you happen to still be interested? CJ Miller [T]/[C] 10:16, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

I might be, if I could be reminded of how I did that. Email is ok.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 13:52, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi Jeff. As you can imagine I'm new to this, but I am also the first editorial fellow with the journal of interprofessional care. The additions and updates I made to the journal's wiki would hardly require citations (ie. updating the current editorial board with new additions that occurred recently and aren't in the public domain yet, adding the fact that the editor-in-chief has changed institutions, adding the most cited citations, etc). Additionally, the page that is currently there has almost no information on it, which is significantly different than the version posted prior to my edits. Please let me know how this can be rectified.

Best, Daniel Rosenfield, MD Editorial Fellow, Journal of Interprofessional Care — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.70.36.25 (talk) 18:35, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Dr. Rosenfield, thank you for your message. In addition to the info I posted on your user talk page, please see WP:VRS. The short of it is that you cannot publish first on English Wikipedia. You may also wish to contribute to Talk:Journal of Interprofessional Care.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 01:57, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi Jeff,

I am a doctoral student in mass communication at Louisiana State University. I've been trying to make some extensive revisions to a Wiki page called "agenda-setting theory," which refers to a core theory in my field, but unfortunately when I make revisions Wikipedia keeps reverting back to the original, factually inaccurate and fairly unreadable page. At this point, I have been able to make some major corrections and I hope they stand. This is a very important theory and it's crucial to get the basic tenets of the theory correct. Thanks, —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chanceyork23 (talk) 18:34, 22 March 2012‎ (UTC)

Chance, thanks for writing, and for sourcing your contributions since I first wrote on your user talk page.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 18:37, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Where are the reliable sources for the shooting

Is this a blog or an encyclopedia? I will continue removing un-founded statements. Prove that Wikipedia is NOT a socialist blog by leaving it alone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.119.53.11 (talk) 03:20, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

If you mean Shooting of Trayvon Martin, there are currently 52 references at Shooting of Trayvon Martin#References, many undoubtedly reliable.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 03:25, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Wikii article on Harris Levey Illustrator

Dear Jeff, on Feb. 24, 2012, you sent me a message asking why I made edits without posting the reasons. I apologize. At the time I created the article on my late dad, I had countless hours of dedicated help and guidance from a respected senior level Wiki editor who helped me to remain very unbiased, since this was an article on my dad and such articles by relatives are usually frowned upon by the Wiki community because they often lack objectivity. Thankfully once we collaborated in writing the initial article, it passed the Wiki test and was allowed to be posted. Much time (2 yeas? ) has passed and I have (sadly) forgotten all of the rules to post changes. Ineed, as you wisely suggest to go back and read the wiki rules and pro tool again if I want to add changes. For now, all I really want to do is to post that the exact date of my dad's death was on the 18th of August, 1984. Would yo kindly be able to make this important modification for me? Thank you for your consideration and ongoing Wiki contributions. Jonathan Levey — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.53.205.48 (talk) 23:45, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Macadelic Wiki addition

Hello Jeff,

I posted an article on the release of a mixtape by Mac Miller, which was released on Friday, March 23. There was no page for the specific topic/subject. And, I felt it included all the facts and sourcing that should've made it a legitimate addition to Wikipedia. I'm unclear as to why it wasn't?

Before I added the page, the actual text in the Discography page just linked to a random website with no legitimate hold within the hip-hop music world, so I decided to add facts about the release -- including the guests, producers, tracklist, and the supporting tour Mac Miller is embarking on.

Also added his recent Woodie Awards win to the AWARDS area of his page, which was also deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayo68 (talk • contribs) 22:58, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

I'd simply like to know where I went wrong, so I don't run into the same problem again.

Thanks and appreciate your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayo68 (talk • contribs) 22:56, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Your prose was very peacockish in promoting the mixtape; having just been released, the mixtape is probably not yet notable; and I didn't see any verifiable reliable sources. Also, who is "we"?   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 23:00, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the clarification. Guess Ill work on it a lil further. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayo68 (talk • contribs) 23:07, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

She was reverting vandalism. Cheers, Nolelover Talk·Contribs 01:58, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, but she didn't indicate that in her edit summary.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 02:22, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
Well...I guess I should say that I don't know if it was vandalism, so that might have been a little strong...it could just have easily been just a misinformed fan. Regardless, 'twas a good edit. Glad that got cleared up. Keep up the good work, Nolelover Talk·Contribs 02:27, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

K&A Gang

Hi, we both reverted User:76.99.54.110. Please can you have a look at that editors edit summary (legals). I've stepped back without reverting, even though the blanked statements are referenced, and advised that editor on their talk page. My opinion is for reporting for 3RR or even escalating is most appropriate. Widefox (talk) 16:31, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

new user

Sorry Jeff

Not sure why you gave me the warning.

Have been trying to improve the listing of that particular school with new information. Currently has very negative information only. Am trying to put quite a bit of info in.

Will you be putting the info you removed back? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mortuzac (talk • contribs) 01:34, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

No, will you? Please see WP:VRS.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 02:37, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
